Really super pasta and excellent service. We were treated very well indeed and look forward to returning. Thank you very much
Worse Italian dinner ever. No food was fresh
Although it was not a party as such, the dinner was, in fact, to celebrate the birthday of one of our number. The staff who were absolutely charming made a great fuss of her and a special pudding was produced much to her delight.
The food was delicious, as it always is, and Il Convivio remains my favourite restaurant in the Belgravia area.
The food was very good, but not generous. For the price we would have expected bread/olives/nibbles as we sat down. The amuse bouche was a prawn concoction which one of our group could not eat. No alternative was offered. No bread was served with the soup & had to be ordered as an extra. The service was unenthusiastic to say the least & the waiters were chatting & smoking outside. No one came to ask us if everything was ok & if we required anything else. Not surprisingly the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. We were there from 7.30 to 9.30 & only one other table was occupied. We will not be going again which is a pity as we have been going there for years & it has always been a good experience in the past.
Friendly staff, interesting menu, good wine list , spacious dining room, very reasonable prices particularly for lunch . Everything a restaurant should be and you won’t be disappointed. This is not a “trendy” place but it is a genuinely comfortable pleasant place to be for a couple of hours where you will enjoy good Italian food at sensible prices.
You will return.
So efficient, food so tasty - excellent Gabi.
Quite lunch table. Very comfortable
Very average & overpriced. Food tasteless and limited menu. Wouldn't recommend.
Simple tasty food in generous portions, with friendly and efficient staff. Nice relaxed ambiance
This was a peaceful visit on a Tuesday evening. Everybody on our table of 4 was happy with their food, except my wife who was distinctly unimpressed with her risotto. It wasn't very good. Portions were only just adequate
I didn't see the final bill, because I was a Guest, but I think that it was about £70 a head including wine.
There was a treat from the chef and some interesting bread as a bonus to the 3 course menu we went for. It was all tasty and well presented food.
They had only just opened for the day so it was quiet and we were 'put in the window'.
There is a very good chance we will go again next time we are in the area
We were here with friends and as always the food was great.
Very good Italian , excellent pasta and well priced wines
Well worth visiting
The food is delicious and very good service!
Always enjoy our meals here. Friendly and helpful staff.Room is very comfortable with good space between the tables.
Il Convivio lived up to the reviews. We arrived tired and unkept to the restaurant but were welcomed with open arms. The service was attentive and professional. The food was excellent; in particular the sea bass was a great success and I enjoyed my wild boar pasta. Dessert was equally good. I was impressed that the staff replaced my gelato without question when I was worried about the possible presence of nuts. The gelato was great and the chocolate sprinkled around the gelato was much appreciated. Excellent restaurant in a nice area of London.
I have been coming here for years and, throughout that time, both the food and the service have been consistently good and, in my opinion, a considerable cut above what is offered by any other Italian restaurant in the area. Highly recommended.
We were delighted to find a restaurant with good food and service which is also quiet. The tables are not close together and the atmosphere was tranquil. Admittedly in August restaurants in residential London are not packed, but even if it had been, I think we would have found it pleasantly un-noisy. A good choice of, mostly Italian, wines.
As always, Il Convivio was great, and the friends we introduced to the restaurant were very impressed.
Upscale Italian fine dining. Interesting menu items seasoned with a light hand. Our group had seafood soup in saffron broth, beef carpaccio, prosciutto platter, veal chop over herbed ricotta, rump steak, maccheroni in cinghale ragu and spaghetti with fresh pomodoro and mozzarella.
All dishes were very well prepared. Only complaint was the maccheroni was too al dente (the spaghetti however was not) and the boar sauce on the bland side.
I was looking for a nice lunch spot for myself and 2 girlfriends pre the Chelsea Flower Show and Il Convivio was perfect, if a little quieter than we imagined it would be. The biggest issue was choosing from a superb menu! Excellent service, wonderful food and a reasonably priced wine list.
Close to Victoria Station, so a good meeting place with friends from outside London. Also conveniently placed for Chelsea Flower Show visitors either for lunch or dinner. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and good value Set Lunch menu.
Lovely lunch with fresh, interesting ingredients. Beautifully presented and with friendly, attentive and ‘unstuffy’ service. The restaurant was white bright, light and delightful. Would recommend.
Food was excellent, service was great. One of our favorites in London. We will be back soon.
Service was great. Restaurant was pretty much empty on Friday evening. Pasta dish well done, although the pork lacked some flavor. Great service!
This was the third time I'd been to Il Convivio and as always, the staff were friendly but unobtrustive, the food (creative Ita;lian) was great and the bill was delightfully modest considering the quality!
Lovely staff - friendly and competent without being overly obvious. Delicious food. Not cheap but definitely worth the money and will go again when I need a treat.
Great restaurant with outstanding food.
Good relatively inexpensive wine list
Two friends and I had a delightful evening at this elegant Belgravia restaurant which has been a firm favourite of mine for many years. The food is a cut above that at any other Italian restaurants in the vicinity and consistently good while the staff are welcoming and always charming. Highly recommended.
Honestly the best food I have had in a while! Waitors and Waitresses made our date really enjoyable. They really made an effort and made us laugh. Definitely going back!
The food is amazing, service excellent and staff friendly and knowledgeable. This is my second visit and the food and drinks did not disappoint. I will definitely be back for more.
Excellent food and service. Only downside was the cheaper wines were not available so forced to purchase £45 plus bottles. All wine in London is very expensive.
Wonderful discovery. Pleasant service, quiet enough for conversation and wonderful food. I had a set course menu with a duck carpaccio starter that was well above my expectations. The main course and dessert were also excellent. Had a reasonably priced Chianti that was delicious as well.
It wasn't a good experience! I still can’t believe that restaurant’s high-recomended here.. The food was disappointing
The food, service and ambience were all excellent
I would have no hesitation in recommending Il Convivio for any occasion
Good Italian restaurant and food and wines lived up to its reputation. We will be back.
As usual a lovely meal with great service. It's a real pleasure to go to a London restaurant and be able to have a conversation with your fellow diner(s) without the table next to you listening! We both had the Carpaccio to start which was a delight followed by lamb and monkfish respectively. Both were delicious. A good wine list as well. A lovely relaxing evening.
I have not been here for about eight years but it was pleasing to see it mostly unchanged (different chef and front of house staff, of course).
It was always been one of London's better Italians and the food is as good, if not better, than ever.
Other than a slightly dull pasta dish, the food was of excellent quality and served in generous portions. The Welsh Lamb and the chocolate and orange tart were both outstanding.
Service was charming.
The restaurant was very quiet on a dull Wednesday evening - though I noticed other restaurants in the area were also fairly quiet.
It is not cheap but offers much better value for money than many competitors.
Outstanding salads with very light dressing. Black spaghetti with lobster is wonderful. Nice wines by the glass with a generous pour. Desserts are scrumptious.
Il Convivio has never disappointed in all the many years I have been delighting in its cooking, service and atmosphere. At three recent meals, it was clear the kitchen is on top form--each visit was shared with friends who have fallen in love with this gem of a restaurant. I was also glad to see it busier than usual last Wednesday at lunch;although the competition is sharp in Belgravia/Pimlico these days, Il Convivio is still a special place.
