The food was delicious and service extraordinary. I will come back again.
Our dinner was thoroughly enjoyable! I had the Caesar salad, one of THE BEST I’ve ever had anywhere. The mushroom gnocchi was just as amazing! It was a perfect evening with my daughter while she was visiting from Washington DC.
Overall, the experience/evening was awesome, and it started with Chris, the greeter/host whom exuded joy and pleasure as we entered iL Bistro. We were celebrating our anniversary and reserved the special package of rose pedals on the table and champagne. We enjoyed that setup, however, the corner you’re seated in is just a tad too dark, unlike other tables in the vicinity. The lamb and linguini dishes were good but lacked a little oomph, meaning somewhat ordinary, nothing special. Service was attentive in all aspects, yet was slow as previous visits had seen a faster clearing of used plates and silverware, not the case this visit. The recommended attire is business casual yet a good many patrons were truly below casual, suggesting that Il Bistro is not perceived as an establishment warranting business casual dress. The cheesecake was truly outstanding, light and fresh tasting, kind of wanted to order another. We closed the night at the bar, per a recommendation to try the Spanish Coffee, which included one heck of a show in making the drink, courtesy of Robby the bartender. So, with the few hiccups mentioned, I do recommend Il Bistro, but would love to see it get back to years ago 5 star service and more authentic tasting Italian dishes. Disclosure, lived in Sicily for 3 years.
Food and service were very good, however it was SO LOUD in there that we could barely have a conversation without shouting. HATE THAT!
Excellent dining experience, will be going back soon
The steak entree for restaurant week was not up to this restaurant's usual standards. Everything else was excellent.
The restaurant was exquisite and charming. Our meals were delicious and full of flavor. I had the salmon, and it was very moist. My husband had the New York steak and said it was delicious. We will be back.
service was a little slow and the waitress forgot to inform us they were running low on an item so when we went to order we had to switch as they had run out of a menu staple.
The server was very competent and nice. The food was not up to the standard we are used to here. The fish was not as tasty, seemed to be a lack of sauce, and the gnocchi was dried out. The ambiance was great for the most part, but a little noisy.
Homemade pasta, world class bar program and amazing hospitality. Can't wait to go back.
Very nice ambiance, excellent service, but the food was just OK and the value was poor, especially for Restaurant Week.
Everything was really good. It was a bit dark for my taste and I’m not somebody who usually minds a darker atmosphere.
Amazing restaurant in the heart of pike place market. Great food, service and ambience. Highly recommend.
This was our first time here. Everything was excellent and we’ll be back!
Butter tasted like it had been sitting open in the refrigerator. Bread stale otherwise main dishes were good..
The food was absolutely delicous. I had some fantastic lasagna and my girlfriend had some delicious seafood linguine. Only complaint is that the food did take quite awhile to come out. Seemed to be more of an issue with the kitchen than the server though. Our server was friendly and made some great wine recommendations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant overall.
We celebrated my boyfriend's 30th birthday here and had an amazing dinner. We ordered the lasagna and seafood linguine and were really happy with everything. I also added the romance package to make it extra special and it was ready for us when we arrived and worth a little extra.
attentive server and good food, not over the top but will return
A nice Italian restaurant in the Market Place area. It is located on a down slope of Pike, around the corner from the Market Place. A little dim, so the menu takes some effort to read. Use your cell phone for light. The food is quite good and it is a restaurant that I would return to for a meal.
Service is good and friendly.
Well worth the time to eat here.
Great place and the wine steward suggested a good bottle of wine at a de ent price
The atmosphere was so good. I visited alone and ate lasagna and pasta. It was delicious and the service was good. The price is expensive. I have a suggestion for a friend.
Always a great experience!
we had the best 10th wedding anniversary experience 🥂❤️
We truly like this little bistro. Good staff and good food. Love the atmosphere.
So delicious. We visit I’ll Bistro every 6 months or so and it’s always very good but in the last couple years they have definitely raised their food game to another level. Also, Daniel makes the best Spanish Coffee in the city, hands down!
Food quality has gone way down! Salmon was over cooked and dry.
Risotto had to be sent back. Over cooked and gummy. Prawns were small and over cooked on the risotto.
The bolognese was watery, flavorless.
I don’t know who is doing the cooking these days but it was very disappointing. Won’t be back for food. Cocktails are a maybe.
Went on a date a few days ago and everything was perfect. Great place I would go back.
Food was expertly prepared and obviously fresh. Service was slightly off but would not stop McGee from returning. Dining room was loud with roughly half of the tables empty.
Loved it here. Great food and amazing service. On of our favorite places in seattle.
Was greeted by the maitre d’ telling my colleague she could not have her water bottle in view so she had to put it in a bag (hers was not big enough) or he “had to take it” WA State law.... or something -which could be true (as ridiculous as it sounds) but ...REALLY!? My business partner from Paris had to give up her water bottle because of some ridiculous “state law”! Good grief? Anyway... ambiance was cool other than that.. my gnocchi was WAY too oily ..couldn’t even finish the 6 they offered. Caprese was delish.. so at least it had that going for it!!!
Great Italian food. Pretty decent wine list...we had a fantastic Borolo.
Food was good had rack of lamb special. Service was decent. Waitress was nice and attentive. Door guy seemed kinda snooty must have been having a bad day. Place is a bit too dark had trouble reading the menu. Overall good experience would go again.
We have been to Il Bistro a few times now, and this was the first time where I wondered if I would return. I always liked the dark atmosphere; it makes it feel very romantic and candle-lit. But, our server seemed not super confident, maybe she was either inexperienced or new, my main dish was a little too salty and for the first time I noticed how 1980s the chairs looked. Also, we were celebrating our anniversary, and I mentioned this in the notes of my reservation, but it was not acknowledged, nor were we asked if we were celebrating anything that night, so that was a little disappointing.
I would still recommend if you've never been; it's a lovely place and the food is good, but I think I may be branching out in the future when looking for a romantic dinner out.
Let me tell you about our experience with.. RANDY. Enough said. Anyone experience this guy?!! Why is this person ruining Il Bistros image? Never met a more pompous, arrogant human running front of the house. A beautiful evening out with my husband celebrating our wedding anniversary.. too much terrible detail to write.. but the great highlights..
* RANDY invaded our personal space to tell us “the answer is NO” you can’t sit at the other table.
* Our lovely server, Sophia, moved us to the desired table, and RANDY came over to interrupt our dinner and scold us.. "so did you just go ahead and seat yourself?! I just want you to know, when you come into this restaurant, you are a guest, not the boss”
* Bill was paid and delivered by.. RANDY, with the middle finger (flipped us off and told us to never to come back)!
*Thank RANDY on way out the door.. make Beauty and the Beast “be our guest” reference.. told “I’m the beast” (funny, he actually has the exact same haircut as the Beast) lol
Literally the most horrible experience (thanks RANDY) that we’ve encountered in our local and international culinary dining.
Side note, another couple that have been loyal patrons for 6 years were told to leave by, guess who, RANDY!!
this guy needs to leave!
The most romantic, appealing and comfortable restaurant in Seattle. We had one of the best meals I have every had in Seattle. The calamari was perfect, Burrata and beet salad wonderful, and the buttery lemon gnocchi was amazing. I cannot recommend enough.
I had booked a birthday party celebration for three with a fourth party calling the restaurant to pick up part of the dinner tab. Fourth party was never charged, bill was split three-ways, and I was charged an additional $252. Have called the restaurant several times, finally left a message, but no one has returned my call. Very disappointed. Dinner experience was great, but how they handled the bill was poor.
Starters and wine were great, but mains were terrible. Pasta lacked flavor and fish special was mushy with clumpy polenta.
16 people seated at a nearby table made the noise level intolerable for everyone else in the dining room.
The food and service were very good.
The bar is the best.
Yes we love Il Bistro especially in the summer when you can sit outside and watch all the people and color of the market!!
