Il Bistro was as fun and enjoyable was ever. Took four guests from out of town on Saturday, I had mentioned in the reservation that it was a special dinner, and they gave us a lovely table. The atmosphere of Il Bistro is wonderfully old school swank, perfect lighting, and the staff is very personable and very well trained. The cocktail program is strong, everyone found a house cocktail worth trying, and the food was good, the appetizers being the strongest as we shared sautéed calamari, very tasty meatballs, bruschetta, and a terrific carpaccio. The bar also has a lovely selection of amaro's, and again, the staff really knows how to make sure you have a great evening. It is a genuinely nice experience in the heart of Pike's Place Market, and just steps to the Zig Zag for a nightcap afterward.
They were a little behind on getting our entrees to us. But they made up for it with the food be glorious.
Up there with top meal ever! Best calamari app, delicious salad and entrees were superb! Waitstaff was kind, professional, knowledgeable and capped off the amazing meal. Have been here a few times in past 25 years but they have really stepped it up!
Food and service was great!
Happy Hour was well worth the value. Great atmosphere. Perfect location.
the food, atmosphere, and service was exemplary. this is our favorite happy hour place as well. we bring friends and family to il bistro at every opportunity. THE BEST!!
The atmosphere was charming. We had an excellent appetizer, which was followed by wonderful scallops and the other main dish was fine. Our complaint was that the food was not hot when it came out. Service was very good most of the time and the helpers were very attentive. The reason for a "good" rating was that there were a few times when our waitress was a little slower than we would have liked. Overall an enjoyable evening.
Food was exceptional. The only thing better than the food was their service. Perfect spot for a date night!
The menu was limited when it came to vegetarian options, but the server and chef worked with us to meet the diverse dietary needs of a party of seven.
Nice dining experience in Seattle. Great wine and service. Recommended for anyone visiting the water front.
Best dinner we had in Seattle!
The ambience was comfortably wonderful. The whole evening had a warmness about it.We were greeted upon entering with a welcoming smile. We were gracefully seated. The waitress was gracious and knowledgeable. Her overall service to us was excellent. We never felt hurried, nor did we ever feel neglected. She always smiled.
New Years Eve
Celebrating a visit with a close friend
We highly recommend Il Bistro. Excellent service and good. We eat there every chance we get.
Food was fine but the noise level was terrible and there seemed to be only one waitress for the entire restaurant and an overly energetic Asian busgirl!
Consistently great food and service! We usually come for their Happy Hour but took family for dinner and it didn’t disappoint!
Great dinner with romantic lighting and ambience! We’ll be back
The staff were friendly and responsive. Food was good, not great (bread served cold, plates of food delivered warm, not hot). Little poinsettias on tables were dead.
We appreciated that they were open on Christmas, and would give the restaurant another try on a normal night.
Food and service was great. Our server looked overworked but still was attentive to her tables. Overall, it was a good experience.
The food and atmosphere are quite good.
However the restaurant was very noisy making conersation at a table of four very difficult.
Due to the noise level I would not recommend the restaurant.
Great as always!
We thoroughly enjoyed it!
The service, food and drinks were all superb! Highly recommend!
Food was amazing. Can’t say enough about the service. Recommend this place to anyone.
My husband and I ordered a drink and our order was taken at the same time. Drinks arrived and seconds later so did the soup and a Caesar salad. It was very loud in the restaurant and I had lost my voice so we asked to move to a different table which our server said was no problem. Once we had moved, it was less noisy and a much preferred location. Overall, the food was bland and delivered in lightening speed. The salad despite being a Caesar which main ingredient besides romaine is generally garlic but this one did not have a hint of it. Mostly it was smothered in Parmesan. My husband’s soup was not much better and tasted like salty water. Immediately after we had finished half of our appetizers the main courses arrived. My husband had the risotto de jour and I had the linguine de Mare. Mine was similar to buttered sea water with mussels, clams, shrimp and squid. I thought I detected a faint taste of fennel (my husband said I was being generous) but again no garlic, lemon, onion, wine -nothing. My husband’s meal was better with shrimp and a cheesy, salty sauce. So here we are having a lovely time despite the unimpressive, tasteless food and we both only ate 20% of the portion and not once did the server ask how our meal was. I think it never even occurred to them to ask. The bill was $105 dollars and probably the worst meal I have ever had. Not sure why the restaurant was so full. A total mystery to me. Save your money and stay away.
My birthday. Server greets table with “ok about tonight’s menu...we’re out of A,B & C” It’s a very small menu to begin with but to be out of gnocchi & carbonara has serious impact. Next 2 of us order tangeray & tonic only to have server return with 2 cocktails & saying “oh we’re out of tangeray so bartender upgraded you to tangeray 10” Did I ask for T10? Should I have been asked if I wanted something else...definitely...rather than assuming I like T10...I DON’T. Filet medallions were awesome. Busser comes to clear table & I ask for box. I wasn’t sure but I thought I caught a roll of the eyes by him. Oh well let it go maybe didn’t happen. Son asks for small box....absolutely no question on it now! Definitely a lot of eye rolls & slamming plates. Overall food good, server ok, busser...thumbs dw! Careful of 4% surcharge
We ordered gnochi and ravioli..."Oh...the kitchen says they aren't available right now." I asked how an Italian restaurant can be lacking 2 of the 5 pasta dishes on the menu. The waitress was indignant at my comment. We reluctantly ordered two bean and sausage soups....the saltiest soup we have ever encountered. All in all, a terrible dining experience.
Great evening out to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had the BEST old fashioned’s ever and the strip steak was delicious. The ravioli carbonara was disappointing. Super Tuscan was great! So was the service from Nicole.
We were really looking forward to our meal here. We had a reservation for 8. We arrived on time and were seated at an 8 top. Either the chairs are too short, or the tables are too high. Very uncomfortable to be sitting with your chin nearly level with the table.
This is one of the loudest restaurants I've been to in a very long time. We could not have a conversation it was so loud. They need to deal with this very big issue.
The service was terrible. It took us over 2 1/2 hours by the time we finished. It took forever for the waiter to take our orders, and we were ready quickly because we had show tickets after. Drinks arrived slowly, food and appetizers arrived at the same time after along wait.
They not only charged us an automatic tip of 18%, (I have no problem with this), they also charged us another "surcharge" of 4.5 % on top of that.
The food was mediocre, and overpriced.
great place! a little busy the night we were there but still delightful, great food & atmosphere!
One of the best meals I have had in a restaurant lately. My seafood linguini was perfect. All the seafood was done just right and the sauce made with chicken stock was generous allowing for some delightful bread dipping. I love the atmosphere especially the low ceilings that made it feel very cozy. Great Italian wines by the glass. Loved the Vermentino. I will definitely be back.
Our server was odd and abrupt throughout the meal. An example of odd: she was kind enough to crumb the table and she used a crumbling blade to move the crumbs onto the floor. Not a few crumbs on the floor - all of them!
The food was good. The bread was cold and stale. Cold as in colder than room temp.
I’d come back for happy hour in the bar but probably don’t want to come again for a meal.
Waiters attitudes was horrible.
The food was delicious and service extraordinary. I will come back again.
Our dinner was thoroughly enjoyable! I had the Caesar salad, one of THE BEST I’ve ever had anywhere. The mushroom gnocchi was just as amazing! It was a perfect evening with my daughter while she was visiting from Washington DC.
Overall, the experience/evening was awesome, and it started with Chris, the greeter/host whom exuded joy and pleasure as we entered iL Bistro. We were celebrating our anniversary and reserved the special package of rose pedals on the table and champagne. We enjoyed that setup, however, the corner you’re seated in is just a tad too dark, unlike other tables in the vicinity. The lamb and linguini dishes were good but lacked a little oomph, meaning somewhat ordinary, nothing special. Service was attentive in all aspects, yet was slow as previous visits had seen a faster clearing of used plates and silverware, not the case this visit. The recommended attire is business casual yet a good many patrons were truly below casual, suggesting that Il Bistro is not perceived as an establishment warranting business casual dress. The cheesecake was truly outstanding, light and fresh tasting, kind of wanted to order another. We closed the night at the bar, per a recommendation to try the Spanish Coffee, which included one heck of a show in making the drink, courtesy of Robby the bartender. So, with the few hiccups mentioned, I do recommend Il Bistro, but would love to see it get back to years ago 5 star service and more authentic tasting Italian dishes. Disclosure, lived in Sicily for 3 years.
Food and service were very good, however it was SO LOUD in there that we could barely have a conversation without shouting. HATE THAT!
Excellent dining experience, will be going back soon
