Amazing seafood dinner. Every dish was delicious. Loved the fish and chips and the prawn cocktail, but the standout dish was the grilled kingfish. One of the best fish I've ever eaten.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Fabulous and interesting food and a great wine list with knowledgeable sommelier. Perfect dinner
Very disappointing. Made a booking for my partners birthday and was stuck in a corner alongside 2 other couple's. Super tight space with barely enough room to get out. Could here every word the table next to us was saying.
Meanwhile large tables were spaced out in front of the kitchen pass. This made no sense.
The feed me menu is not good value. Most dishes seemed pre prepared and quality nowhere near fitting of the price.
Beautiful fish as modern food but not overdone. Best tart tartin we’ve ever had.
The food was underwhelming for the price you pay. We were quite disappointed with some of the fusion dishes such as the Katsu. Presentation was excellent. Staff were incredibly friendly.
Beyond brilliant. We loved every single morsel.
Perfect for fish lovers, portions very small though but then you do get to try a lot! Quiet enough to talk to each other and staff were very knowledgeable and prompt in re filling glasses etc, the wine list is impressive and the bar area lovely for a pre or post dinner drink.
Amazing flavour and fresh
Had the Good Friday special menu which was great value. Service was a little hit and miss and being in the smaller section of the restaurant lacked some ambiance. Food was lovely though.
The food, especially the shellfish was excellent. Service too was attentive.
Only slight negative was the chips. It was a tad too salty.
This Good Friday lunch was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with very tasty food and wonderful service in a pleasant environment.
Such amazing seafood. Every dish was balanced, full of flavour and perfectly presented. Highly recommended.
Absolutely loved our dining experience. Food was sensational and location fantastic, sexy Melbourne dining vibes, amazing food, excellent cocktails and the staff couldn’t do enough to cater for our needs!
We shared several small plates so that we could try more options. Oysters from 3 different life cycles. Beautifully presented food with chefs creative spin on classics like prawn cocktail. Would have loved to try the Octopus but it was all sold out. Pear tarte tatin was amazing! We couldn’t fault any of the dishes. The staff were excellent and In the words of Manu from Masterchef “ For zis I give you... a Ten”. Will definitely be back.
The food was, by enlarge, exceptional.
The sommelier paired drinks with the food perfectly.
Wonderful food and staff very nice.
Took a little while to get some wine ordered but otherwise service excellent and attentive
My wife and I felt the food was delicious, but unfortunately weren't wowed by the experience, particularly for the price. We also found the wait staff not to be very friendly or accommodating.
We came for the MFWF expressed lunch, the food was delicious and service was friendly and professional. Great experience.
We had really high hopes for this dinner and had been looking forward to it. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed by the quality of the food and some of the service.
We tried the fish and chips and all I could taste was the oil that it had been fried in. The buffalo barramundi head was a complete was of money - two bites of cheek flesh for over $20. The best entree was the katsu sandwich. Our John Dory was $$$ and delivered cold. Really just not a great very good food for the $$$ price.
I was so disappointed with the food and mainly the service It was our 21st Wedding anniversary when i booked i advised them of this. No glass of champagne no offer of anything to be honest. Had to keep asking for the glass of wine to be refilled along with the water
This is an exceptional restaurant, probably the best for food quality and imagination in Melbourne (though there are so many, who would know?). Not cheap, but every dish is BOTH perfectly cooked and imaginative. Seafood only. The oysters were fresh and beautiful, and the orange roughy was just marginally undercooked, as it should be. On the "simple" side, the chips are always excellent, and this time the courgettes were also perfect. We finished off with souffle, perfect (and not easy).
Cold vegetables. Fish not much warmer.
Oysters, that we thought were natural, came with a oily dressing.
Iki Ji yummy
I was very disappointed. The prawn cocktail was fine, Moreton Bay bug was good and fish schnitzel was very bland. I would go again for dessert but not for a meal. It simply wasn't up to the reviews. I would rate Movida as much more flavour, interesting and consistent. Or Matilda in South Yarra. I was also very disappointed in the ambience. The reviews said it was quiet when in fact the noise from the bar was strong and the music got louder while we were dining. It made for an unpleasant dining .
Excellent food excellently presented by highly skilled staff. extensive list of high quality wines from around the world.
Good vibe and good food
My husband and I were in Melbourne for a few days. We always go to our old favourites and love trying somewhere new. Iki-Jime did not disappoint. Shannon Bennett has done it again. Outstanding!
Amazing food, wine and service. A must visit!
Fresh ingredients served with imagination.
Unfortunately this restaurant fell far short of expectations. We were expecting a pretty special meal of fish-and we did have fish. But as fish catchers and eaters the meal was very average. Yes the fish skins were crisp but the meals were luke-warm and pretty tasteless. There was a special caper butter for the fish...but the fish was so cold that the butter didn't even soften. Nothing to distinguish this 'fish' restaurant from any other place that serves fish-only the price...
The night was wonderful with amazing food and lovely staff. It was great to watch the kitchen work while we enjoyed our meal.
The staff looked after us really well. Did a great job at explaining the food and serving sizes for sharing plates etc.
Beautiful food with high attention to detail.
Excellent table service with very sound knowledge on wine & food pairing.
Best part was the Suntory draught beer. Music was bad. Open kitchen was entertaining. Food was OK. Thoughtful menu, but slightly underwhelming on delivery. Toilet scary if you suffer from claustrophobia. Bit of fun but wouldn't go back or recommend.
fabulous creative seafood with outstanding service
Unfortunately we were very disappointed expecting much more from this restaurant. There was a long wait in between course with no apologies as to why we had to wait so long. The fish was undercooked and then it took over 10-15 mins to return back to our table. The bug tart lacked flavour, octopus was ok, fish sausage was probably the nicest thing we ate. Oysters were lovely but some had a dressing and others didn’t. From memory the fact that they came with a dressing was not on the menu.
All of the fish was beautifully cooked. We really enjoyed watching the kitchen staff work together as a team.
Lovely meal, the service was ok. The annoying part was the Vue de Monde group sent me an email saying parking was available on a casual basis at the RAVC Club for $13 per hour. When it came time to pay for the parking the attendant said it was $21.60 per hour! I explained to the attendant about the VDM email and he said they haven't done that deal for years. Therefore the parking was more expensive ($84) than the meal! Not happy.
The food was delicious and so interesting. The service was excellent and well informed as was the wine list.
We had been looking forward to trying Iki Jime - and then we ate there. From the moment we entered the cocktail bar the service was lacking. Waiting for a bartender to serve you when you're literally the only couple at the bar is not great. Service in general was not what I would expect from a restaurant of this calibre and price point. The worst of the night was when the smell of sewage wafted through the entire restaurant - more than once. I was hosting a client so pretty embarrassing. Bad.
