Great place, funky design, great service, reasonable prices and funky music
Amazing Food!! Loved it :). Would definitely go again
lt was my first time dining here and the food and atmosphere was amazing. We were seated in the (exclusive looking) gondola table which was a nice surprise which my date thoroughly enjoyed. I felt as though we were sometimes overlooked in terms of drink service as the table is quite hidden and out of waiters line of sight. The music level inside the gondola is also a tad too loud - aside from that amazing!
I also appreciated how the waiter looked at both myself and my date when presenting the bill - Very forward thinking
Thanks for the night
Great venue and food. Very accommodating to dietary requirements. Only issue is that we ordered a banquet as we were a large group and gelt very rushed to get out. Spoiled the experience. Perhaps don’t offer a large banquet for a 1:45min sitting.
The staff were very attentive and kind. The food was great, it was a bit pricey but it was worth it. There was a wait for some of our food, about 25 minutes after the first three dishes came out but it wasn’t the biggest issue. Overall it was a good night and we enjoyed going to Ichi Ni
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful night at Ichi Ni Nana celebrating our anniversary. The food and service were excellent couldn’t recommend this place enough
Awesome food, service, ambience, decor. Really enjoyed the whole meal and the cocktails were also great. All in all well priced too!
Thank you all so much - we had the most amazing night!!
When I made the booking for 11pax, I was told that we could only have the table until 8:30. Strange, considering we are such a large group and were there for both dinner and drinks. I shrugged my shoulders and proceeded with the booking. Upon arrival, I was reminded that the table would need to be made available again at 8:30. Thank you for the reminder. Between sitting down, ordering, eating, and leaving, I was reminded another 4 times that I would need to leave by 8:30pm. Do you know how annoying it is, to be spending money in an establishment, only to be reminded that you need to leave? VERY ANNOYING.
Also, the Gyu yakitori was very dry. The sushi roll that was on our 'chef's selection' sushi plate, had something VERY chewy in it (I've eaten a lot of sushi, and chewy fish always means badly cut fish).
To top it all off, your website is very misleading. There was no karaoke on every floor, because apparently you need to book that too! Advertise that this requires an additional booking, or don't advertise it at all.
The only saving grace was that the ambience was great, and the cocktails were good too.
I've been to here a couple of time, fell in love with the food. Came here on Saturday and was super disappointed. The service you had to hunt for, the food was so average, I know restaurants have off nights , but the gyoza were cold in the middle and the karaage chicken was very dry. On the up side the desserts were beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
Good portion sizes on the Ume meal, surprisingly filling and tastes amazing.
Team is accomodating, as well as helpful and there whenever you need.
Sometimes a bit hard to get their attention but that always comes with busy places.
Sensational food and great service allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the evening.
We had a table of 16 and ordered a set menu style drop when first arrived. Great service, our head waiter was great and very accomodating. Fulfilled our needs for the night perfectly!
First time diner and I was very impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant, the food was amazing the wine and overall experience. Definitely be going back at some point.
We have an excellent time at Ichi Ni Nana, the food was top notch and so was the sake. Kurtis served us and he was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and he went above and beyond to make us all feel right at home.
Amazing service, food and vibe. We picked this placed based on its vegan options, but there are plenty of meat options.
One of the more classy restaurants in Melbourne and it has a super authentic Japanese feel.
Will be returning again soon.
Thank you Ichi Ni Nana Izakaya for everything.
Ps. Prices are super balanced considering the quality/ taste and presentation.
Lovely food and great service. Very nicely furnished and designed space!
Always great food and service, top quality. The food does come out quite quick when you order taps items but all very yummy.
Great Japanese restaurant! Loved the plum wine selections and all our food. Service was prompt and impeccable, what more could you want?
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The menu was strange for Japanese food (brown rice?) and it was extremely expensive. We only stayed for two cocktails and some renkon chips which were both nice.
really liked the vibe and food here.. will be back :)
Terribly overrated. There are so many better places to have Japanese.
Amazing food and amazing service! Booked for an anniversary and had a great night
Delicious food! The staff are always very helpful and attentive.
Amazing yet again never fails to impress we took some friends who don’t really like Japanese and had really never tried it they absolutely loved it.
smells taste presentation atmosphere was awesome staff friendly service fast very professional can’t fault one thing highly recommend 👍
Very quick service lovely food
Great service. Food was ok
Food was fine but overpriced for what was pretty standard fare. Cocktails were the same. The place had a lively atmosphere and seemed very popular. Unfortunately the service was very ordinary, bordering on rude at times. A dish we didn’t order came back to the table three times, with the waiter insisting we had ordered it. Empty dishes stayed on the table, even when more food was delivered. Won’t be back.
Food, service and ambience all top notch. Love this place!
We had a very nice and relaxed time. The staff are friendly, don't bother you unnecessarily but are somehow always around when you need them. The decor is funky, the food is excellent although I thought it was bit pricey, especially when the menu advertises it as "mushroomS", but you get just one, or the picture shows 4 king prawns on a skewer, but you just get one. But apart from that the food is flavoursome, delicious, well-presented and great quality. I'd recommend Ichi Ni Nana (127) for any group of adults who enjoy good food.
Staff were all so lovely, amazing food and drinks. Whole dynamic of the restaurant was amazing! We will definitely be back 🙌🏼
Love Love Love this place so much and highly recommend it, if you like modern Japanese that offers a bit of everything
Great food, great cocktails, great service. Service was quick and friendly and very helpful and the food was to die for. So delicious. Recommend for a great night out.
We brought our friend here for a birthday celebration at dinnertime. The food is decent - nothing spectacular however. What we were disgruntled at was the service of the staff. We understand that it was peak hour and there were a lot of customers to cater to, but the staff (who claimed to be the manager of the restaurant) took our orders wrongly, and 2 of the dishes only came a short while before our reservation was up. After which, he requested for us to finish up within the next few minutes (even though the food only came 5 minutes before - we were waiting for over an hour for all our food to come to the table). Dissatisfied, we requested to extend our dinnertime as it was technically an error on the waitstaff's part, but were just given takeaway boxes to pack our leftovers into. Very, very poor form.
Pure excellence, service, food and ambience were amazing. Will make a booking again in future.
Amazing food, waiters were spot on, great service. When ever we wanted anything or needed something they were there. Drinks were beautiful, the venue is great. Price is a bit expensive, could be a little cheaper, but if I had to I’d pay double for ichi ni nana
Food is always great. Service is good. Price is medium. Very noisy though at peak times, so it can be hard to hear someone when sitting across from each other on a table, probably not the best for a newer date.
The food is good, however pricey for the size, the biggest issue is the service. It’s near impossible to get someone to serve you. I asked not once, not twice, but 5 times where the Sake I ordered was. Only after being told on 3 occasions with 15 minute intervals the ones I had chosen were sold out, did they finally advise me of which was in stock. 2 further attempts to follow up where it was, after an hour had already elapsed, did it finally come out.
Considering sake is not prepared on site, this is just poor service.
My friends and I really enjoyed our night. It was pretty loud however the lighting and decor was beautiful. The food tasted amazing. It was pricey but worth it for sure. Our waiter was friendly but we felt he pushed some things onto us. One of us wanted edamame but he came out with 1 spicy and 1 plain. He recommended the egg plant however no one actually ordered it. When we turned it away he brought it back to us. We were charged for it too. Fortunately we weren't charged for something else so we didn't complain. Would love to see just a sushi platter.
Otherwise, great food and drinks. Would have loved to hear people talking Japanese too.
Food was epic. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Was a bit noisy out the back, we noted it was our anniversary and would have preferred a quieter table but was still alright
