the food is sub-par. the sichuan spicy chicken is not low quality chicken, but is not spicy enough nor numbing. the dan dan noodles elegantly presented, but taste bland. the list goes on.

but, spectacular view.

Great view and nice ambience but the restaurant is extremely loud. Food was just o.k. and is extremely overpriced for what it is.

Stunning view, very nice atmosphere. Try to reserve the table at the window and at 7.30 pm to watch the light show at 8 pm. We booked the table four weeks in advance through OpenTable. My wife and I had a fantastic evening. Highly recommendable place!

Great service but food was expensive for what it was. One dish we sent back as it was badly fried and dripping in oil.

Dining at Hutong on a Sunday for lunch is a must!! You definitely will not leave hungry or thirsty. The free flowing vintage Veuve was worth the extra upgrade. All of the tastings were unique; the Szechuan plates were a bit spicy for me, but my husband really enjoyed them.

A favorite all time restaurant in Hong Kong. Stunning views, exceptional food and a beautiful ambiance. Our booking was for 7.30 so we could watch the light show across the harbor at 8pm, just perfect.
The restaurant is darkly lit but that makes it so much better for viewing the harbor and you can still see your eating companions :)
Staff are attentive and there when you need them but never hovering. There are private rooms available which I have had the pleasure of using before and I highly recommend for special functions/occasions booking one of these rooms.
Food is always so delicious and special cannot fault anything about this place.

The setting was elegant, with wooden tables and chairs. Every day has a different show and we enjoyed the free puppet show on the day. Wonderful view and good value with free flow Veuve Cliquot. However they did run out of chilled champagne just before 3pm.

Last Sunday afternoon four of us had the pleasure of spending three hours of our lives brunching at Hutong.
Three hours, eighteen courses, 28 floors up, one great view & countless glasses of Verve Clicquot.
Cost? Very reasonable.
Memorable? Indeed!
Recommended? Absolutely!!

Positively surprised to get my cocktail with a metal straw, way to go!

We had a 18-course lunch and this was the only choice on the day.
As a local people, I would say this restaurant is good for tourist. Decor is traditional.
Generally speaking, the food is just average, except the sweet and sour fish. I wonder if the wasabi with cuttlefish is a fusion food or authentic northern Chinese food.
However, we were surprised by the Chinese puppets shows. This is really rare in Hong Kong.
Staff seemed cold. They took away finished plates without saying anything. They looked like worrying about having complaints from patrons.

Our food arrived cold from the kitchen. My husband requested to speak with the manager and without a discussion the manager offered to eliminate the charges for all the meals from the bill. That being said, the food even cold, was extraordinary and the vibe is just right (minus the odd loud and slightly obnoxious group surrounding us). The view, extraordinary as expected. I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat.

I ordered crispy soft shell crab with Sichuan dried chilli.

It was not crispy, just soggy.

It seems to me that they don't use fresh oil.

And Sichuan dried chilli......... I think they reuse it all the time.

But, the service was good.

All the dishes recommended to us were good except for the lotus dish which was too spicy; this was despite telling your service staff that I could not take too spicy food. I personally only had one piece of the lotus only. We didn't want to make a fuss and my friend who was invited to dine with us and staying in Hong Kong had to takeaway instead.

With a fantasic view esp. at night we enjoyed awesome 四川 style dish. Serving was so delicate. Ambient lights were kind of dark. So taking a foto well could be tricky without flash.
The laser show is on the house.

The 28 floor view of Hong Kong is terrific - after dark it was spectacular!
The food was excellent. The portions were ideal to share amongst several people - too much for one person. Since we were simply two people we could not finish any of the dishes.

The restaurant has nice decor, the view was amazing and great to watch the light show over Hong Kong. The food portions are a good size.
However, I felt the service was rushed and they kept pushing for dessert while eating the main course.
