Dine Local: 4 courses and a glass of bubbles £39 per person
Experience Hutong: Enjoy 4 courses and a glass of bubbles for £39 per person from a specially created menu of our occasionally fiery Northern Chinese cuisine.
We was seated in a nice cabana and had a wonderful experience, on this clear bright day. The beef Tenderloin tossed in green chilly was particularly tasty.
Service was excellent.
Incredible views, great food, good service but terrible setting.
Excellent tasting menu. Used Sep Eat Out.
Great food and service
Very good food, attentive staff! Amazing view and vibe but just too expensive
Really downgraded... People in other tables were so rude and noisy but no one did anything about it. The place is amazing, but the atmosphere was totally ruined.
Pleasant. Nice food but doesn’t justify the price tag. £90 for the tasting menu was excessive based on meal. Everything was very nice but clearly paying for the view.
Food was ok and the service was good. Naturally you’re paying for the views rather than the food. It’s the classic tourist place. Depends what you’re looking for. Soft shell crab was delicious!
The first I was sat in front of the sun, which management has to think as it very feels uncomfortable. I asked to put blinds down, but the open corners still blind my eyes, so I have asked to have another table, which is nice they provide another one.
It was a dating with the partner. We’ve ordered starters, calamari flowers and king crab & chilled tofu, which was really nice to be honest. Then mains : I’ve ordered lobster and the first thing which waiter was asked me, if I’m aware about the price, which is absolutely unprofessional, He just made us feel poor that we can’t pay the bill (and price was shown and the menu anyways). My partner ordered Red lantern, crispy soft crab - which was absolutely non sense, the presentation of dish is pure, like a big old fashion kettle covering all table so we even had no space for another dishes. The dish was absolutely not crispy, just dry, And absolutely no taste. I would even say it’s a dry pepper was served with a bit of crumbs (looking as fried chicken legs). Lobster was ok, I’m enjoyed it, but also was very dry, and not for that value.
The waitress even wasn’t bothered to ask if our food was ok, no check backs at all. Very disappointed, spend £300 for 2hours, and not excited about this place at all, to compare with Aqua or Gong. Sorry, but I might never come back to this restaurant again, rather go to the same building but different restaurant. View is a nice, as all Shard venues got them.
Sorry I’m not the person ever leaving complaints, but this experience wasn’t my best.
P.s.: Pure range of non-alcoholic cocktails, but barmen was really cool and made perfect one on request!
Food quality is very poor, does not match the price tag at all. The decor is old and cutlery worn. Won’t go again
Dined with my two small children. Our server was fantastic with them. We had the signature menu. Every course was devine as well as the recommended wine. We had a great view from our table. A fantastic experience!
Amazing food as always. But service is very pushy. The waiting staff kept coming in to ask if we needed anything. We said we will order once ready. And then still kept coming. And then at one point said we have only 2 hours total for the table. Which is fine, but the issue is we were only 45 mins into our dining!
But otherwise the food is deliciously spicy. Its disappointing they had limited menu because of COVID which gets even more limited for vegetarians like me. But the options they had very really delicious!
The starters were great, really set up our expectations for the mains. However the mains didn’t quite live up to the expectations. Overall we had an amazing time. Great service. Amazing view.
It is worth visiting the restaurant just for the views alone. A chic place filled with beautiful people taking selfies. However, it is a great place. The decor and food are amazing and the London skyline has never looked so good.
A place you should say you have eaten at.
Great service all round
Food and service was excellent unfortunately due to the current situation the ambiance was not quite right
Missing menus and wine lists
Not the same trying to read from your mobile
Still a great restaurant
Below average food. Over priced. Notified the restaurant early that it was my son’s 13th birthday and we didn’t even get a candle on his dessert. We were really looking forward to it but left disappointed with the whole experience.
The food was tasty and very good scenery but portion is too small
Was fantastic food although I was abit disappointed that when i mentioned I had a code for free gift of Dim Sum Platter I was told I had to order something else from the main menu to have that.
Due to social distancing the restaurant was a bit quiet, but the view was spectacular. Food was excellent - easily the best Chinese food I have had in London (I lived in China for 20 years, so I might be a bit more critical than many people!). Service was excellent and only slightly impacted by covid related measures. Normally Hutong is booked well in advance, so now is a good chance to go at short notice.
Good view, food ok but expensive. Better off going up for a look and then Borough Market to eat.
Excellent customer service
Social distance observed
It was amazing. Definitely come back!
The best birthday dinner ever had. Amazing views for pictures. Great quality food. Helpful cheerful staff. Loved every minute of it.
Everything was great as soon as we entered thr restaurant. However the Reservations team are very poorly looking at clients requests.
I have put in a note as it was my mom's bday to have a table by the window, and that didn't happen although the restaurant brought a small dessert for her bday.
That is dissapointing as why else would you book a table at the Shard if not for the views.
Amazing restaurant best Chinese food I have eaten by far, so fresh and tasty!
Nice place with good views. Meals are on the expensive side. Staff are very accommodating, and helped me move my reservation to a better time without any fuss.
Pros. We showed up 2 hours early for reservation. Very accommodating. Had mocktails drinks at the bar View was impressive. Despite the rain. Food was so good. Prices super high. Had to pay for the view, smile.
Restrooms had a cute stall door. Noted by my teen daughter.
Great food and fantastic atmosphere. Servers were extremely attentive and the food gets 2 thumbs up. We requested to be moved to a window table when one freed up, and they did that for us. Quality of food and the taste was awesome. Rather pricey at £25-£40 for main dishes, but the food speaks for itself and the atmosphere is second to none:
Hello, with my family we booked an afternoon lunch however we were seated in the bar area not the main dining area. Loud music , noise from the bar destroyed all the ambiance and relaxing atmosphere. Additionally the waitress was so pushing to book an order ( I guess she wanted it on her account before leaving) that we couldn’t focus on the menu and play with choices.
Dining option in the bar area should be cancelled or at least while booking guests should be warned that it won’t be what they expect: good ambience, cosy atmosphere.
Nice ambience, nice food and a good place for a lunch by yourself, with friend or for business
Nice meals, a different way to eat Chinese food. Lovely views and environment. Recommended.
Was such a shame a windy day as the whistle this creates through restaurant was ear piercing at times. I asked the manager to turn the music up which he did.
Food was really lovely but not sure why lettuce and lovely beans served up after duck is presented as normally altogether in a wrap.
Cocktails gorgeous- expensive treat but worth it
Brilliant experience. We were there to celebrate our anniversary along with one other couple. Food was fantastic. So were the cocktails. Service was good too. They took care of allergies and vegan requirements.
Roast duck was the best.
The food was average. There were a lot of staff standing around, but it took us 10mins to catch their attention for the bill and another 15mins for them to bring it. The view is spectacular, of course, if you are lucky to catch it on a sunny day
Lovely meal with good service - overall a great experience!
Wonderful view and great food. We enjoyed our dinner there.
nice food and excellent view. We felt welcomed! The food is modern Chinese cuisine - creative and delicious!
Perfect views and good very Good lunch deal. Very nice stmodphere
