I went to Hutch for my birthday dinner with two sets of grandparents on a Tuesday. When I got there I was slightly bummed because I had requested a table for 5 on the patio when I made my reservation over a week beforehand and nobody called/emailed me to tell me that they only had patio seating for 4 or fewer, instead waiting until we got there day-of to give us the news. But it didn't even matter: everything else was absolutely perfect; the drinks were delicious, the lobster nacho appetizers were so unique and satisfying, and it happened to be $14 steak and fries day, which was the item I had been planning on getting from the start! Our server was so friendly and the bussers were so attentive, meaning we felt comfortable the whole time we were there (which was a while because we got drinks, then apps, then entrees, then opened presents, then dessert.) They even gave me a complimentary birthday gift at the end! I honestly can't even believe how on top of their game they are.
One of my go to brunch places! Love the food and the selections. Highly recommend Tatchos or one of their Benedicts. Also cannot go wrong with craft mimosas.
This restaurant was too loud for my party; I understand they want to appeal to a younger group. So, I'll just go to the restaurants in the area that allow me to talk to people rather than yell.
Service was great, we really enjoyed ourselves. Just a regular day out for brunch- the food was amazing with very little wait time. Would definitely visit again!
Steak very good. Salmon over cooked.
The service was terribly slow. I would not recommend.
Poor service today! And kitchen ran out of some basic ingredients at noon?!
Advertise bottomless mimosas till 3 PM. However, they have a 90 minute limit to sitting at a table. So it’s not really bottomless for as long as you would think. Pretty deceiving, if you say something about it to them they point you to fine print on the menu where the 90 minute limit is listed. I just think it’s shady that you wouldn’t advertise the 90 minute limit, I feel cheated.
Food was delicious! We were seated right away. Waitress only checked back once, we would have had another drink but decided to go elsewhere since we were already finished with our meal by the time she checked in.
Great experience. Go on a Wednesday for their specials - lots of items are half off!
The mimosa tower was an absolute MUST and a highlight of the day but the food that I ordered(chicken ago toast) was hardly edible and my date had the same experience with her order, the more we ate the less appetizing it got. Huge beautiful windows mean lots of noise, so not the place for intimate chatter. But a definite drink spot again in the future.
Horrible service! They would not seat our table because we were short one person, even though the restaurant was not even close to full. There are much friendlier and accommodating places to do brunch.
The Staff did a great job for the day of the Pride Parade. We were seated within 5 minutes of opening, as there was a line 10 minutes before 10:00. Our server Kerry (I think) was friendly helpful and efficient, even though the place was filled. I dont know I would order the Chilaquiles again, and definitely not the Chorizo which was dry and overcooked. I will be back however as my dining companion enjoyed his Bento box, and we have dined here before and had good experiences.
Poor service, food was undercooked, and it was so loud we could barely hold a conversation. They also didn’t honor the 20% off as posted on their website for people going to the game.
I booked a reservation for a client lunch on a Thursday. They refused to sit our party before everyone arrived. Then when we did arrive I told 2 different employees that we were all there and asked to be seated and they each disappeared and didn’t seat us. After a while we were running out of time to eat, so we sat ourselves at the bar. The bartender was lovely and the food was good but it was bit an ideal experience for a client lunch.
We were on a tight schedule (i.e. I was getting engaged that day) and we were getting brunch first. The whole "your full party needs to be here" thing needs to stop, especially when the cause was unexpected Lake Shore Drive traffic. 3/4 of us were early to our 12:15 reservation, yet we couldn't sit until the 4th guest arrived. So we just stood there for 25 minutes waiting.
When the fourth guest arrived, we were sat immediately. So, not totally sure what the difference is if 3 of us sit (and order drinks/apps) verse 4. I'm sure you guys do fine (financially) as a restaurant and those 3 extra drinks don't really matter, but we were all pretty let down by the situation.
Great happy hour menu and close to Wrigley field. Mature bar menu with different drinks!
Food was amazing, environment was peaceful. Wished service was better, especially since I went there for my birthday. Service made it not worth the time. I ordered bottomless mimosas and the speed of refills were subpar, at best.
We went for brunch on Father’s Day. It was not a great choice for that but we had never been before. It’s website made me think it was higher end than it was. The place was crazy loud and full of college kids. It has friendly service, mediocre food, and subparmimosas- lots of choices but the ones I tried did not taste right. I doubt we will be back, although the staff is very nice.
Great location and atmosphere. Entrees were basic and around the same quality of a sit down fast food place.
Great food, service, and brunch drink deals!
AMAZING food and great place to go with a group or with family/friends
If you are looking for a Happy Hour with a lot of options, this is the spot! Drinks were strong and tasty.
Their dinner was also good - got the special which was steak and fries. Fries were nice and hot, and the steak was medium rare as we ordered it. The only thing that made our time at Hutch not so great was the fact that there were three children running around the entire restaurant for 45 minutes on and off. They were stomping around, jumping on booths, being loud etc. Normally I wouldn't mind this if it lasted for a brief time, but it was extremely rude to the other tables to let this behavior go on. I was going to say something to our waitress but she wasn't really present when this was going on. Hutch isn't some 3-star Michelin place, but it should act that way. Letting the kids run around like that isn't the way to keep people coming back. I also don't think you want kids jumping on the booths and ruining the upholstery. I don't live in the area so I probably won't be going back, but I have had brunch here and it was nice. Might give it another time for dinner again but this time I would say something to the parents if anything like that came up again since your waitstaff clearly wouldn't.
good for brunch and lunch! so cute. great food
Closed even tho bookable on open table
Everything was fine but I’ve never had a restaurant ask us to give up our table so quickly—we had brunch reservations at 10:30 and were enjoying the last of a carafe of mimosas at 11:30 and we were told a party had been waiting for quite some time for a table if we could get up and go to the bar. Brunch is a meal that typically takes a bit longer especially when carafes of mimosas are the menu, we would have chosen somewhere else to eat for our reunion if we knew we couldn’t sit and chat for more than 45 mins!
We had a fun brunch at Hutch. I had the strawberry mimosa and the totchos with avocados. Both were good. The service was very prompt.
The shrimp dip was excellent, we asked for more bread and kept the dip all dinner long. The salmon as well. Good deal on wine bottles.
Their Bloody Mary looks amazing! Lox salmon Benedict is quite alright as well.
Great place for brunch! The inside was a tad noisy, but the outside patio area was perfect as we went on a nice day! The service was quick since we were in and out in under an hour. As the food was delicious! We’d definitely go back!
Overall, we were satisfied with our meal and service. I accidentially showed up 1.5 hours early (could have slept it!) but they luckily had availability and were still able to seat us. However, the waffle of the chicken and waffles definitely wasn't the fluffiest and soggier than waffles I'm used to having in a chicken/waffles dish (this was before any syrup had been added) so perhaps for the future keep that in mind.
My friends and I always love coming here for brunch! The service is great, food is fantastic and the crowd is fun! We also appreciate the hostess assisting us with a last minute add on to our group. Thank you!
The service is fantastic! The food is probably the best I’ve had and the drinks are great! I highly recommend
I may go again and change my opinion. But service was VERY slow, problems with kitchen were not handled well vis a vis front of house. Frustrating experience for a first-time diner who was had been looking forward to trying Hutch.
Hutch is another great dining option in the Lakeview neighborhood.
Amazing steak frite! Great causal Tuesday night dinner and a huge bargain.
Quite noisy, but good food and service.
