Arrived way earlier than our booking time and asked if they had a table. We waited only for less than 10 minutes and they showed us to a table on the outer deck with superb view of the harbour. Food was really good too
My partner and I eat here at least once a week, great food
Yummy food, especially the ribs. Fair price . Always full, need to book ahead.
The pork ribs here are delicious. The giant pork knuckle was also well received. We had the rocket salad with blue cheese that was also excellent. What brought the score down was the kitchen food delivery. We ordered entrees and mains. The entrees came out and then literally 3 mins later they landed our mains. It was ridiculous. We couldn’t fit it on the table, this also meant that the food was cold and a lot was wasted.
Ribs are as good as they use to be. Staff don't know how to redeem vouchers.
We had a window side table, the view is nice. The food is delicious and the service is good as well.
We arrived on time as reserved only tro be asked to sit at the bar and wait for another 15-20 minutes.
When we ordered out food the menu was misleading and when asking the waitress to explain she really didn't have the time as you could see they where understaffed. When our food arrived part of it was cold. I will never eat at Hurricanes again and definitely do not recommend it to anyone...the standards have dropped dramatically. Eat elsewhere!
I order Tomahawk steak with Medium rare, It came out well done.
Oysters are not impressive
Ribs not normal, others restaurant can do much better
We made booking at 7:30 and confirmed. But table given to us at 20:30.
Very disappointing service.
Everything was good, except we had to wait almost one hour eventhough we had made a booking.
The best steak you can ever get! My boyfriend and I crave hurricanes steak all the time. We refuse to dine out anywhere else.
Food is good, nice view and value for money
The manager was rude and raised his voice when we politely asked if you can check and look for better table and under shade for us. The manager turned up with a attitude.
Great ribs and steak
My partner was very happy with his steak and ribs. I had the ravioli and my only complaint was when it was delivered the wait staff took my knife away and I was unable to flag someone down to get a new one. The were delicious however.
Actually the food and the environment are good for this restaurant.
I don't know is it previously arranged for the table reserved which has assigned the worst windows side table in the restaurant. I am going here for touring and watching the SAT firework with my family during dinner. But I feel quite disappointed for the arrangement.
Amazing food, very fast service, perfect dining experience as always.
Over price & poor food.
Not happy & will never go back........
The food was terrific. The wait, not so much. I booked weeks in advance for a table at 7pm. I arrived with all my guests and we still had to wait until 7:25pm to get in. The staff also looked like she wouldn't care if I leave the queue and go somewhere else. I'm hesitant to eat here again based on the service.
Good food and service. Only negative feedback is we paid $40 for a jug of sangria. The jug was small, and a lot of fruit (predominately oranges) and we only managed to have 1 glass each from it (2 glasses). We have been ordering these for years and the jugs are getting smaller and smaller which is disappointing. Apart from that it was good.
Very accommodating waiters, they were always making sure if we were happy with our food or if we need anything else. We only waited for 3 minutes to get a table, on a very busy thursday night. Efficient and excellent service.
Value for money and have a great dining area with a comfort seats , we ordered a chicken breast and fish and chips for our dinner , all of them were tender and well seasoning. Good service and sufficient explaination of the dishes from waiter Martin. This is a great experience from hurricane when we were travelling in Sydney. I recommended to all travellers who would like to have a great meal in the city.
Most of the service was good, has some problems communicating with waitress what we wanted only due to noise and strings accents i believe. Our group of 5 all work in hospitality too so we know what its like to be on the other side so this didn't bother us too much. The bell however was irritating hearing the bell for food over everything else was annoying, again being in hospitality we know what it's like. Even when we work on our shifts when the bell is rung 5 times consecutively its very irritating. I know you have to let the staff know the food is ready to serve but at the level of sound it was you cant hear anything else.
The staff was unattentive. We sat with empty plates for nearly 40 minutes, even though ”our” waitress looked at us many times and we tired to search for her attention. The food was bland, didn’t taste much at all. The noise level was awful and the diningroom felt like a fast food restaurant. Would never go back nor recommend it to someone else. An disappointing experience.
There is an asian guy (if im not wrong, he's name is Michael) who taken care of us when we had dinner that night to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Hurricane Darling Harbour and seems like he do much effort to made our day. It was just me and my wife. But overall we are really happy that day. Food i dont really think i should comment, because everyone knows that Hurricane is the people fav place for sticky ribs so do we :D
That was very pleasure night! Well done!
Quick response, clean materials, friendly staff, nice food with care regularly
Amazing food with awesome atmosphere! It was a spectacular evening!
The food was amazing and the service was fantastic and very accommodating
Hurricanes is a fantastic restaurant. I have dined at Darling Harbour, Brighton, Top Ryde and Surfers Paradise and each time have had a fantastic experience. The pork ribs are incredible.
We booked dinner to celebrate 40th birthday. We were 30 minutes early. Since our table was not ready we waited at the bar. We didn't wait that long. We got seated before 6pm, on a Sunday night and being in Darling Harbour, it did get busy. But our orders for the main came in a reasonable time. We enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly enough.
The only thing I would suggest is to hand out wetnaps if someone ordered ribs.
Good view but need to have reservation in order to skip the long queue
Cocktail never arrived. Server removing plates before table finished eating.
I've been here twice, the first time was the best steak i'd had in a long time. The second time I tried the Wagyu special and was disappointed.
Although the restaurant was really busy our food came very quickly, was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Service was great too.
Had a 6pm booking. Went to waiting area, only a few other groups waiting. Received opentable email saying "thanks for dining". Other parties seated before us. I had to go up to staff at 6.20 asking when we'd be seated, showed her email that made it seem like we already left - only then were we entertained. Walked to table and restaurant was only half full. No excuse for not seating us.
Dinner was lovely we had a great table over looking the Sydney
Overall amazing. Service was brilliant and he was only new! Absolutely recommend the food aswell :)
The music was so loud we had to ask for it to be turned down so that we could hear each other speak.
I wonder if the owners have sat in the chairs they provide - very uncomfortable.
Tempura batter on fish was very thick and chips had no flavour - I should have asked for sweet potato fries!
Attempt was made to remove plates when not all customers at the table had finished.
We won't be coming back to Hurricanes.
Quality food at reasonable prices. Can be noisy inside so balcony seating is preferable. Wine list is limited but wines are reasonably priced.
Although the table had the right numbers I did request early on to have a table close to the view of the window.
I understand this was provided as arrived however the seats provided to us were nowhere near close to the window.
Service was quite average if not close to poor. It took several attempts to even get the attention of a floor staff.
Upon getting there attention, they advised they were not the waiter and will get them.
The food came out ok however really disappointed with the service. The servers and staff weren’t even smiling or happy.
