We had a fantastic experience at Hugo’s! The food was amazing, best Mexican I’ve ever had.
We had the scallops and the snapper, both were excellent. Afterwards, we shared the Purepecha Nicuatole for dessert - it was just perfect, not too sweet. We're looking forwards to going back and trying other things on the menu
Nice restaurant, but far too noisy for my taste. Will try the patio next time.
Three were of us having lunch. We placed our orders and two of three had to be sent back because they were incorrect.
It took an additional 15 minutes for one order and 20 for the other to be corrected. Very disappointed
Experience was fine. Brisket enchilada was good. Service was slow. It seemed understaffed.
Always exceptional. My favorites are any of the soups, tuna tartare, ceviche, Cracklin Pollo, and the chuleta. Margaritas are damn good too!
The interior is very nice, the foods are delicious and healthy, and the service is very attentive
Organic, local food, but it tastes really good and fresh. Our waiter was very informative and attentive. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to return in the evening and try happy hour on their patio.
My coworkers and I went here for dinner while in town. It was a fantastic twist on Mexican food with fresh menu items and best part being that everything was done in house including the juices squeezed right before they were served. We had the black rice seafood paella, Avocado shrimp gazpacho soup. Everything was wonderful including the homemade baked corn chips and warm salsa. Our server was very professional, attentive, and friendly.
Wednesday night 6:30 reservation. The food and service at this place are good. The noise level is so loud you cannot even talk with your table. 2 days later and my ears are still ringing. They need to invest in some noise reduction devices. All hard surfaces. not good. I would not recommend until they solve this problem.
Outstanding food quality, great creative drinks and good service!! Highly recommend the bison chili relleno.
One of the best, if not the best restaurant/food/service experience I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was inviting, fun, and approachable (clearly nice/upscale, but not stuffy/overdone), food was phenomenal and menu was varied enough to make me want to go back a LOT. the server was equally as good as the food and atmosphere. He knew the menu very well and gave great advice about what we should get as 1st timers there. BTW, the drink menu is also great and varied (highly recommend the grilled pineapple margarita). And, the location is super convenient to the Toyota Music Factory, making it a great spot for dinner before a concert (food came out super quick, too. So no need to get there 2 hours before the concert).
Enjoyed my first visit to Hugo's and even got to meet him. The food was fresh and flavorful. I got a special, the salmon salad. Tasty but a bit too spicy for me. There's a 99 cent liquid lunch special that gives you a mini margarita for 99 cent with your lunch.
Top notch concept! Service was slow, but sure will improve with time.
Our waiter, Michael, was very good. The elote was the best I've ever had...shrimp tacos the same. It's a beautiful restaurant at the Las Colinas canal...we will be back.
Over priced food that is not anything like it’s described on the menu. The sauces are too tangy, even for someone like me who loves that attribute. Portions are small if you DID care to finish the food and the cocktails are weak and small for the price.
Very noisy but fun. Service was a tad slow, but maybe due to bar staff being so busy? Food was amazing.
This is a great option for Mexican, tex-mex food. The ceviches are very good and the service is friendly, prompt and capable. The starters section has great options to just share plates and have some drinks. Pricing is right on.
Too loud. Screaming to be heard. Food delish. Wait staff mediocre
Great place to take someone one a first date or meeting, you and actually have dinner and conversation without it being grounded out by load music or someone else’s conversation.
We LOVE Hugo Invitados. We’ve been there a few times for dinner and the other night took a friend out who is leaving Dallas and moving to Chicago. The food has been consistently great and the drinks are unique. Hugo makes a point to stop at tables to make sure all is ok and I see him pitch in to help out wait staff when things get busy. I highly recommend this restaurant to all looking for food that is consistently delicious
Amazing as always
Great place to eat and amazing service!!! The food is soooo fresh and GOOD!
Our server was not attentive. Did not check back for drinks and water in a timely fashion.
Was stunned by this place
Great tasting FRESH food with Wonderful Drinks special! Service was amazing.
I chose to go here for my birthday. I told the server and didn’t get any acomdations. Was expecting a desert on the house or a drink at least.
Excellent atmosphere in the bar area, accommodating staff, and excellent servers. Food is unique and tasty! Interesting cocktails too!
The ambiance is gorgeous and impeccable! Service was top notch!
Their cocktails were sexy and so delicious, definitely noteworthy!! Picture worthy for sure.
Appetizers and Food were so good, especially the crackling pollo, which had an amazing cucumber salad.
Some of the dishes were a little heavy, thus not allowing some of the amazing details to shine through. But I think that’s a personal preference.
The food was awesome overall.
But the Star of the show was the dessert - Tres Leches. Not your usual Tres Leches, with coconut milk and a toasted whipped meringue on top. Omg
The details in this restaurant from the ambience, the pops of green, the organic and fresh ingredients, made this an amazing dining experience!!!
Definitely a place for date night or for friends to gather. ❤️
While some of their items may seem a bit overpriced, one has to remember that quality ingredients are being used from start to finish. Where I find an exception to this understanding is their cocktails; they are simply overpriced. Still, this restaurant is gaining popularity and the servers are barely able to keep up. This left our service lacking. Our server, though intentionally attentive, was overwhelmed and even forgetful at times. One more factor that made the evening a bit chaotic was the noise level; it was a bit overwhelming at times which makes difficult for a group conversation at a table.
I hate to give Hugo’s a negative review, because we have typically enjoyed our meals there. Unfortunately, yesterday’s experience was extremely disappointing. We had a reservation and were seated promptly and ordered our drinks. Over 30 minutes later our drinks still had not arrived. When we complained we were told the bar was “backed up” and that we were next. But multiple drinks kept coming out without ours. After I got up and directly complained, we finally got our drinks. All this time we still didn’t have our entrees. More than an hour after arriving we were still waiting. The manager told us the “pork chop takes awhile” and that “22 orders came in rapidly” before ours. I’m sorry that’s no excuse. That’s poor kitchen and bar management. The food is excellent and we like the ambiance and the waiters (who were helpless because of the kitchen’s incompetence), but this experience has dampened our enthusiasm for going back to Hugo’s and that’s a shame. On top of that, Hugo’s added insult to injury by reporting us to Open Table as a “no show” for our reservation. This was not a good night for them. The manager did comp our first round of drinks, which was a nice gesture, but it wasn’t enough to make us feel good about a disappointing evening.
Food was good, the chips were not
First time here and I’ll definitely be back . Love the service and the food was delicious 😋!!
Food and service was excellent!
What a terrific place. Many healthy options filled with great flavor. Loved the "straws" and the story of how they are made. If you have not been, you need to go.
The waiter was very nice but service was slow. We got there on Saturday right when it opened so maybe they were still warming up the grills, etc? We ordered off the brunch menu and the food was alright, nothing extraordinary. The music was very loud, but the decor was really cool.
our service was OUTSTANDING! We were going to the QUEEN concert that night and our waitress was very timely and considerate as to our timeframe. I was NOT impressed with the food at all and I was really looking forward to it. Both rice selections sounded great on paper; in reality, bland. Black beans were just black beans. Chicken tacos ok, but salty. Smoked brisket tacos dry and very little protein ounces in both selections. I had the whiskey sour which was too sweet and the round, thick chips??? What's with that?
Great food, outstanding service. Noisy but everything else made it worth the trip. We would definitely go back again.
