I have already recommended Hudson House! Good food and easy atmosphere!
Had a rude waitress, but experience was great besides that.
It truly reminded me of being back in West New York.
Outstanding in every way!!!!! I have been many times, the service and food are always excellent...
I took a client to lunch yesterday at Hudson House and I have to say that the food was beyond reproach. The Oysters and the Au Gratin Potatoes were the best that I've ever had.
The Crab Legs were extremely overpriced for what you get on the plate. And, they were supposed to be pre-cut since they don't give you a crab-leg cracker (or a tiny fork for that matter) - but they weren't and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be cut.
My colleague who was with me said that her Salmon Salad was amazing! It was huge and she still ate every single bite of it; yes - it was that good!
The only disappointing part was how long we were there. Got there at Noon and didn't leave until 1:50pm. That may be fine for all of the "ladies who lunch" out there, but is completely unacceptable for those of us on a work-hour lunch who have to get back to the office. I saw that there were people who arrived after us and left before us, so I'm not exactly sure what the problem was. There was only 3 of us, and although the restaurant was crowded, it wasn't "that" crowded. It absolutely should not have taken an hour and 50 minutes.
I highly recommend it for the food, but if you are in a hurry (or even expect a reasonable in & out lunch place during the workday) - you may want to skip this place as a lunch destination and go for dinner when there's likely less of a time constraint with someone's normal schedule.
And say Yes to the Oysters and Au Gratin Potatoes, but no to the overpriced Crab Legs (which don't even come with melted butter).
Scallops! They were the best I've had outside of a place in NYC.
Oysters! One of our favorite places locally. They are prepped, presented, and taste just right.
All of our meals were really tasty from fish to salads, lobster roll, and more. Aps were a bit weaker than the food.
The drinks are mixed just right. Lots of choices. We will be back again and again.
Energetic is one thing.......too loud to carry on a conversation is unacceptable.
I requested a surprise birthday desert prior to arriving and the manager and staff made the evening nothing but exceptional!
Very good. Nice place. Will be back. Great place to meet friends or have a business lunch. Clean & Fresh!
The halibut was amazing.
You need to be more clear on your brunch drinks. Your menu says Bellinis are $5 at brunch. We ordered Bellinis and were charged $8 each. We were then told the brunch Bellinis are NOT frozen and the uncharged Bellinis are frozen. My first Bellini was at Harry’s in Venice. Additionally you had on your chalk board, try our frozen peach Bellini , never dawned on me to ask. A traditional Bellini is frozen peach and Prosecco. The 4x$3 difference really isn’t material. But the principal is irritating. A $5 Bellini should be a $5 Bellini. So for us $32 in drinks should ha e been $20.
I love this place! The fresh Dodge Cove oysters are addictive. The lobster roll is the best I’ve ever had outside of Maine. Get the fried calamari and shrimp appetizer, it has deep fried lemon slices and they are AMAZING! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
The perfect upscale neighborhood restaurant with a little bit of something for everyone
Did not get our tea and wine for 20 minutes
Claimed it was Happy Hour back up at 7:00 when Happy Hour was over at 6:00. Food took over 30 minutes to come out. 3 different times gave us the wrong order. When our food was finally close to what we ordered nothing we asked for was right. Waited another 30 minutes for it to come out. Waitress kept coming over saying she was sorry and crying. Manager was not taking care of business and ignored us. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
Sad because normally like the restaurant.
Sooo upsetting as we were celebrating a big birthday.
Food as always was very good. Vincent provided great service. We did try a new item on appetizer menu Dynamite Shrimp that was severely lacking any pop. Highly recommend this place.
Saw the waitor once. Got hair in food, when complained about a different waiter says. “Sorry that happens sometimes.” Instead of making it right and comping the item. Horrible service.
one of the most amazing restaurants i’ve ever been to. the lemon fritto misto is the best fried calamari i’ve ever had, and so was the burger.
My Ruben was Way overpriced and nothing special the food came out like warm there was Hardly any pastrami and there was no black ice tea
The French chicken was spicy and nothing on the menu indicated that it would be spicy. The redfish for $26 was ridiculously small, about the size of my female hand, maybe a 1/4 pound if that. It should have been a whole decent size fillet. My husband ordered the fish and it did not come with the sauce he requested. I did not care for the chopped up brocilini as I got mostly stems. My pice of salmon was small also. It was very tasty as was the salad. The tuna sandwich as a salad was awesome and the lobster roll seemed decent. The sides were generous and the Mac and cheese was delicious. The drinks were really good as well. Our waitress was attentive and friendly.
Great service and amazing food!
Very nice ! Food was great. Atmosphere nice but gets pretty noisy. Glad you have booths. Our waitress was very good too.
Great shrimp salad; delicious fries; great service; love this place
Food delicious, service great, very noisy
Our service was terrible, wrong with the first thing we ordered, the wrong with the second thing...
Food was tasty, though, portions were "correct" which means small. Prices on high side - goes with the neighborhood.
Great overall. Only odd thing is that while we often wish for smaller portions while dining out, one entree (redfish) was crazy small - though delicious! - at maybe 3 oz total (smaller than the palm if my hand/deck of cards).
The appetizer we ordered was the calamari and shrimp was just ok. Our main course tuna tartare salad and shrimp scampi was amazing. The service and atmosphere was impeccable.
Went to Hudson House for Easter brunch. Everything was fabulous! Will definitely go back. Would like to try happy hour.
Lovely little place. Waitstaff took wonderful care of us and was prompt and attentive! Went to celebrate a birthday and loved everything we ordered. A few of our favorites included avocado dip, calamari, oysters on the half shell (so fresh! Will need to return for the everyday happy hour!) and the salmon. Will definitely be back!
Been here for date night and for business lunch and dinner. Food is incredible as is the service and ambience. One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas
We always have a great experience here! We love the burgers and the oysters. You can't beat happy hour at hudson house!
Just seems over priced on some items.
Good for all groups of people! Great brunch menu and excellent cocktails!
Noisy. Very noisy. Mediocre service. Tough parking. Average food. Pricey.
Enjoyed our food and good service! Very loud.
There have been many wonderful experiences here but Sunday night both the food and the service was so poor I feel compelled to write this review. Had the slowest service and the place was virtually empty. I don’t think our server could have ignored us more if he tried. We probably wont be back - which is a shame because it is so close by 😢
Person at front desk wasn’t very helpful. She was very stubborn about us waiting when we had a reservation and there were 3 tables available. She said there were two other groups coming. I really didn’t see the problem cause 2+1 is 3 and that is how many tables were available. Maybe she is not so smart? but a manager took over and seated us immediately. The rest of the evening was lovely
