Everything was very good. We went early on New Years Eve.
We have eaten here @ Wong’s several times over the last two years, & always considered it upscale & VG overall. However, on Xmas Eve 2030 everything seemed to come unglued. Our reservation was for 7:30PM, & we arrived a few minutes early. My wife, who ordered Egg Drop Soup, & Cashew Chicken, was served first. My Edamame appetizer arrived next, but that was it. We waited another 15 or 20 minutes, before asking what had happened to my entree, Happy Family, which had never arrived! Our Waitress apologized for the apparent Mix up in the kitchen, & the manager soon stopped by to say We wouldn’t be charged for my meal, which was eventually delivered!
We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, this time the service was extremely slow, the main entrees tasted good but were luke warm.
Hoping others are not having the same experience but we will not be returning for a while and will be looking for another Chinese restaurant
First time I've been to a classic Chinese restaurant that plays rap music with an interior decor suitable for a small town Denny's. The appetizer spare ribs were definitely cooked the night before. Super dry, tough and had what appeared to be dried out bbq sauce on them, although it didn't taste like it. Hot sour soup was barely warm and had a musky flavor. I didn't finish it. My entree was Mandarin sweet and sour chicken. Again, barely warm and largely flavorless. My friend had egg drop soup and 2 of the rib appetizer. Her soup was flavorless and barely warm. I chose HW for lunch beciase I've had many great meals at their dallas location, but that a decade ago. Maybe the dynasty has fallen.
This place is always a winner. Great food and Great service every time.
Ordered the black bean stir fry with pork. Delish! Our waiter Chris was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the whole experience a 10.
Uptown better new location Frisco. Not great. Food was Okay. Fella like a bus stop area cafe.
I felt like the food was great. I wish the waitress had better explained the menu, I would have ordered a vegetable side for my dish had she better explained the offerings.
Our service was awful. Couldn’t even keep waters refilled much less order a cocktail. Waited an hour for our food. The food was delicious. Meal was discounted and dessert provided. Talked to owner and he is really trying to do better. Food was amazing and I would certainly give them another shot.
Party of 10 and one person never got a meal as it was done incorrectly twice. The first time with a bug in the meal and the second time with the wrong sauce all together (dietary restrictions not met either).
The server apologized every time she came to the table and it was super awkward. Drinks took extra king and it was pretty dragged out for a week night dinner.
We were seated in an obscure corner with little ambiance and no room for servers to get around out table.
Date night with my wife and another couple. Started with the potstickers. For entree, had the spicy crispy prawns. All was FANTASTIC! Washed down with the Peking Old Fashioned. We will definitely be back.
Great and SAFE service during these times. My family and I felt very comfortable dining here.
Delicious and friendly waitress
We had a bizarre dinner with no waiter. The bartender took our drink order then we had to chase down a server to order. The hostess did check to see if the order was in, which it was, but let's say, it was not okay.
They brought the appetizers with the entree... There was a screaming baby one table over which did not add to the experience, which although no one's fault, still makes for an unpleasant visit. Kind of a waste of a Saturday evening date dinner!! Won't be back
For the most part, the food was good. However, the duck was very, very dry and overcooked. The staff were dressed extremely casual, throwing us off a bit for a higher-end Asian dining experience. Almost more fitting for a bar and grill. The attention paid to our table was poor. We had to constantly ask for items; silverware, water, soy sauce, napkin. Even then, we'd be forgotten and the server would eventually return to ask, "Sorry, what did you need again?" So, we'd repeat and wait. There were three other tables dining in the entire room. So, not busy thus justifying partially the poor attention. Our biggest issue was service. Overall, not a place we'd return to unless the service had improved.
Great (Americanized) dim sum - our siu mai was cool when it arrived to the table, but after requesting it be reheated, it was delicious. Only 1 other table was there when we arrived and 1 when we left. My son loved the kids chicken tenders.
we ordered crispy chicken and crispy beef, both of them were so tough that myself and wife could not eat them. My son ordered orange chicken which was good. the Sampler was good.
Moo Shu Pork had little flavor and pancakes were stalw
Wonderful dining experience
Excellent quality. Good service. Best Asian food in Frisco!
Crispy Beef is a MUST...we lived in China and this is the best we have tried back in the US. Service was fabulous...thanks Christopher!
Service was a bit slow but that’s no biggie. The food was lacking flavor. Szechuan dumplings which usually have a kick at the end were bland. Drunken noodles were best dish this time and Kung pao was ok. Dim sum platter was bad and the wontons were too cheesy
The food was very good and our waiter was very good and great personality. That said the overall experience did not sit well with us. I made reservations week prior and stated specifically "first time at restaurant and would like table in main dining room - not near front door, kitchen or bathroom". We arrive at restaurant and checked in the reservation - the hostess then proceeds to take us to the very first table near door and bathroom. When I stated I had requested main dining room she said that area reserved - yes correct I said - I have reservation. At that point she did not seem to care and we basically didn't want to argue. Over the course of night - plenty of people party of 2's coming and going and by 7:45 the restaurant was empty. We never really saw what the restaurant looked like - just shoved in booth by front door with cold gust of wind coming in. Again - the food lived up to reviews and waiter great. But I hope the management sees this review and contacts me to further discuss and maybe invite us back.
Probably the best Chinese around! Everything was hot and well prepared, especially the bbq pork fried rice!
Great food and service and surprisingly not very expensive. This was my second time dining here and I will definitely go back
This was our second time in two weeks. We LOVE this place! The staff is incredible. They are nice, knowledgable regarding their menu, and very attentive to any needs. The managers were genuine. The food is AMAZING! My husband wanted to celebrate his 50th here. My teenagers loved the food, too. We WILL be back!
The atmosphere and service was impeccable. However, the food was good, not great. For the ambiance of the restaurant, we expected the food to be a bit more elevated. Overall though, we did have a lovely time and did enjoy the food. I’m sure we’ll return.
The service was outstanding. The food was very good, however I felt the price for the food was a little high but overall I really liked the place and would maybe go back again.
The food was fantastic. It was fresh, hot, and tasty!
It was proved well and the service was good. We will be back and we need to bring friends. This place deserves to do well, and will do well once people try it out.
Not a great experience.
We sat for 15 minutes before anyone came over to the table.
Once w ordered one of our diners appetizer did not come out with the others, they never place the order.
Eventually it did show up and do not really feel like anyone cared about our service.
My dinner came out warm not hot, the others food was pretty good.
Really bad service for what is supposed to be a high end Chinese restaurant. Not a great experience.
Best Chinese restaurant in the area. Service was spot on; the noise level was reasonable and the food was fantastic! We will definitely be back.
Food fresh and delicious. We like eating in the restaurant, but order takeout often. They have a nice menu with a variety of choices my whole family loves.
Sadly the Peking Duck which is what they are known for was over-cooked and crispy. Ambiance was not great either, for this restaurant and to be at The Star I was saddened by the experience - downtown location is MUCH better.
The food and service was very poor.
Food was very good, and the lunch portions are a bargain. They are plenty even for a dinner and come with soup. Service was ok. Server forgot wine and did not bring the chili oil on the side, as she said she would. The peppers were cooked in the dish.
Delicious and a
Out of four diners you’d think one would enjoy their meal. Afraid not. Just not good food. Edible, but nobody finished their meal or wanted take home box.
Great food, great ambiance, but the service fell a little flat. Server was unenthusiastic, had us help her pass out our food when it arrived, and practically tossed the fortune cookies on the table at the end of the meal. Meal and restaurant was great but their service staff is killing it for them.
