Delicious food. A really cool bar. Overall a great night out!
Excellent experience. I had the Filet, it was mouth watering, tender, perfectly done.
Met the owner, Angelo. He is really nice and comes off as totally genuine!
The price for macaroni and lobster, $27.00 too expensive. Pasta doesn't cost that much. You can buy Barilla pasta for $1.00 per box. The glass of wine I ordered was $10.00. Hooked is way over priced. Regarding the lobster, it was just the meat from lobster claws. Not tasty at all. I would not recommend ordering this dish. We went there for my birthday. Our reservation was at 8:00 at night on a Sunday, no problems there. I would like to add when we made reservations via computer and it asked us if there was a special occasion, we put my birthday, don't bother. We weren't looking for an embarrassing song, just maybe a little birthday cup cake or whatever. We were the only 2 in the restaurant, which is understandable for a Sunday and the time. I had to ask the host /server/ whatever else her job description is, to turn up the heat as it was cold in the restaurant, which she did. All being said and done, we will not be going back.
Excellent customer service, not all menu items available, very quiet and nearly empty on a Sunday for dinner. Food was good, but nothing was remarkable.
I went here on a Wednesday night with my girlfriend for a date night. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, we were seated right away and had good service the remainder of the night. The food was just alright though. We ordered oysters for a started, which weren’t shucked very well, so that was a little disappointing. When our main meals came the portions were big, but neither of us were wowed by the meals. Compared to other “fine dining” restaurants we’ve been to this one wasn’t very good food wise. We probably will not be going back since there are better options for a similar price point.
Overpriced and inconsistent for the quality and quantity received. Four scallops for $26 and five bang bang (small) shrimp for $15 is ridiculous. Also ordered oysters and they were shucked terribly with shell pieces on the oyster meat. This place tries too hard. Not recommended and will not be back.
First time there. Great ambiance, service and menu. Very attentive reception and service. Nice wine selection. Excellent menu selection . The Lobster Roll appetizer and chop salad could been entrees on their own.
The main dishes were super.and well presented.
Looking forward bringing friends back for dinner soon.
Not great. But not bad.
Our reservation was scheduled for 8:45pm. We were told it would still be a 15 min wait (which was fine) so we went to the bar. It was then 9:20pm, they told us another 15 min. We were not sat until 10:00.... an hour and 15 min after our reservation. We weren’t greeted with any waters, had to ask for water 20 min later. We were given no bread as other tables were. The food was subpar. Would not recommend!
We were called three times to verify we were coming. Arrived on time only to wait 45 min, then they were uncertain how much longer it would be. After an hour (9pm) we left.
Not a place to book for events like Valentines Day.
First time here, and last time. Had reservations for 7:15, didn’t get seated until almost 8:00 and that was after I approached the hostess and asked how much longer. Once seated we ordered bloody Mary’s. The waitress came back 10 minutes later and said the bar doesn’t make bloody marys so we settled for ice water. I ordered the bang bang shrimp for appetizer. Half still had tail shells, half didn’t. For my entree I ordered the short ribs, they were out of short ribs and waitress recommended lamb shank. Before entrees came out the waitress came and told my wife the cook dropped her baked potato on the floor and had to cook another one. 5 minutes later she came back and said they were out of potatoes. When my dinner came out the lamb shanks were a glossy gray color and tough and kind of slimy. I immediately told the waitress they were horrible and didn’t want them. She then asked me what I wanted for a replacement. I ordered the filet hoping it would be a quick prep. My wife was done and had her leftover food already boxed before I got to eat my dinner. My wife had the scallops which were undercooked to say the least. The only plus side to the night was the waitress took my dinner off the bill.
Food was fantastic. We went the night before Valentine's Day and it was quiet.
This restaurant was awesome, the service was excellent and the food was delicious.
Great food & atmosphere. Nice addition to Main Str. dining (with ample parking!).
Bolognese was ok needed more tomatoes and a little sauce too dry but it was ok. Very loud.
Service was great. We had the pumpkin spice mussels which were really good. I ordered the scallops (cooked perfectly) and my brother had the short ribs (tender and delicious). I'll be back for sure.
We made reservations for four people for my birthday on a Thursday night. We were seated promptly. The dining room is small. There were several people eating at the bar when we arrived. We ordered a bottle of wine and our entrees. The wine was a good value and we all liked it. The entrees were another story. I had the scallops, my husband had a ceasar salad and the lobster macaroni and cheese. The salad was large and easily shared by two people. It was drowning in dressing so I did not care for it. My scallops, while cooked perfectly, had little flavor and the accompanying squash was also bland. The lobster in the macaroni and cheese was good, but the cheese sauce was watery and boring. Even though we had indicated in our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, no one acknowledged it. Our meals weren’t bad, but very underwhelming. Overall, a disappointing experience. With so many good restaurants in the area, Hooked did not impress us enough to go back.
Enjoy the decor and ambiance of Hooked. All food was good. Looked forward to wedge salad and calamari. They were good, but the wedge and calamari at another WNY restaurant was better. The price at Hooked was more expensive, but quantity and components were less. Other restaurant had 2 lettuce wedges, pork belly rather than bacon bits, heirloom grape tomatoes rather than regular grape tomatoes, and brioche croutons. The other salad had more blue cheese dressing with more chunks of blue cheese. Was told the fried calamari could not be tossed in hot sauce without the breading breaking off, but have had bang bang calamari at another restaurant that had a larger portion and was very crispy even tossed with sauce. Scallops were good, but again have had better in both quantity and accompaniments. Might be unfair to compare Hooked to another restaurant, which is my favorite throughout many visits, but the overall experience at Hooked will probably lean me to returning again.
Seafood was excellent and plentiful for the price.
This should be a very nice restaurant. The service was good. The food delicious. The music was SO loud we couldn't talk to each other and one of our group developed such a headache that he left to restaurant to sit in the hotel lobby to get away from the noise. It spoiled our dinner.
Excellent. Delicious food and cocktails.
Chose restaurant for brunch. Arrived & advised they had a buffet. All items appeared to have been in sterno heated dishes for too long. We complained and were offered menu. Crab cakes Benedict was excellent & potatoes were fresh. Husband had a fresh omelette that he enjoyed. We appreciated the offer of menu vs buffet as our meal experience could have been ruined.
For a seafood restaurant menus was limited.
Lamb shark was best meal we had
The restaurant is very nice with large bars and great seating. The seafood is excellent. This was my third time and the service is the best in Williamsville.
Third time and food is always great
Food is very good and ambiance is nice also. Definitely going back again!
Nice place but dinner was just ok I didn’t leave thinking delish
First visit to Hooked, it was phenomenal. Service was great and food was even better. Best seafood I've had in the Buffalo area. I highly recommend.
Great service, server was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions. Really enjoyed the scallops. with spaghetti squash. Drinks, beer and wine choices were good.
Food was absolutely outstanding! By far the best calamari we’ve ever had. Entrees were very good, and so was the dessert. Definitely will be back and really enjoyed the whole experience
Our server was wonderful. The drinks were the best part of the evening. The food was just ok. I ordered the swordfish and it was overcooked and burnt. My friend ordered the salmon and that was also overcooked. My husband got the pork chops and it was not fully cooked. Very disappointed
It was our first time at Hooked and we were very happy we tried it. Surprised to see all the meat options and they were terrific. The manager and/or owner stopped by our table and sincerely wanted to know how our meals were and what could they do to improve. A nice touch. We will be back.
We really enjoyed this restaurant that we wanted to visit for quite some time.
The menu is varied with many wonderful selections to choose from.
We were very impressed with our food and it was very tasty as well!
The service was exceptional!
Great service and super food! Nice size portions! Would highly recommend.
Hotel restaurants have come a long way. Hooked is located, inside the Wyndham Garden Hotel. Upon entering, you can't help but notice the classy sophisticated decor. You have a dining area as well as a bar section.
Our waiter (Jeff) gave us his recommendations, since this was our first visit. He explained the entrees and how they were prepared. This made it very easy to make our final decisions. We ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi, and the seared scallop dished. Both dishes was very good. The scampi was flavorful and the scallops was prepared really well. The seared scallops, came on a bed of spaghetti squash with cinnamon/nutmeg sweet cream sauce. I like the flavor of this dish, but due to it being so sweet. I would prefer having a smaller size, as a appetizer than a main course. My only complaint regarding the scallops though is this, a few of them were gritty. If they were cleaned better both dishes would've been great.
A Restaurant Week in Buffalo occasion brought us back to Hooked. The experience was not the same as before, however, with our server misidentifying ingredients in our (very sweet/ dessert like) soup after consuming nice rolls with honey butter...our entrees came out very very quickly and we ended up feeling quite rushed and out of the restaurant in 40-45 minutes...amazing!!! No time to relax over our food in an uncrowded restaurant. (We were disappointed, as our previous visit was a stellar5* one.) We will try it again sometime...perhaps it was just a fluke coupled with Restaurant Week....too bad this time...all though we did end up having time to weed the garden after dinner because we finished soooo quickly! LOL
Good place to dine, very loud though, food was so so but believe it may be because of the limited menu (restaurant week)
We had been meaning to come here for awhile and finally booked a reservation during local restaurant week. From the bread with whipped cinnamon/honey butter & Caesar salad to my blackened swordfish & Gouda hominy grits, everything was great! The swordfish was delicious and very light and fluffy. We will definitely be coming back again!
Went during restaurant week so the menu was limited. We will be going back to try things off of their full menu. Waitress was nice and attentive. Food was good with a good size portions.
