Our menu changes daily! We always offer an abbreviated menu, a tasting menu, and an Omakase menu––a 10-13 course meal using all of our most limited and flashing foraged ingredients and wild game.
A very unique take on foods sourced locally. You will be trying things you may never have had before. The drinks are excellent and fabulous service.
These guys are the real deal. While some business go out of their way to brag about their "local" food (a term that gets seriously fudged sometimes), these two show up at the farmer's market even in the pouring rain to pick up the best ingredients New York has to offer, directly from local food producers themselves. I know, because I sell them fish every Saturday. And the food? Unbeatable. You can watch them make it, they have nothing to hide. Real people, real food, it doesn't get better.
What a fantastic treat stumbling upon Honey Badget! We loved the food, the service, and the experience.
Highly recommend it was an amazing experience. The family that owns this restaurant has such an interesting history and I enjoyed every moment of this food experience.
At first we walked in and the place was quiet and there was only three other tables. When he started getting served they came out with this tiny started that was filled with stuff I’ve never tasted before. Each and every one was fantastic and made my tastebuds start jumping and excited for what was to come. Quickly after the plates began coming out each better than the rest. One dish was pasta made with an ostrich egg which was fantastic and we got to play with the shell of the egg beforehand.
This place is a hidden gem and I hope it stays that way. However I would love to see the place grow and show everything it has to offer. I will definitely return sometime.
Oh god. A three hour dinner and the portions were tiny! Super slow... I was starving and my husband was super tired from the week and we had to sit there and wait for every course to come out... oh, and it was cash only. If it was timed reasonably and the portions were at least double in size if not triple it would have been great.
Amazing— always a unique culinary experience—, inventive the chefs are true artists!
Second time coming here. It was even better than brunch! Awesome tasting menu!
Love this place. Among the more creative in NYC. Go for the Omakase if you are up for being challenged to try new things.
Went here for brunch with my fiancé. It’s a speakeasy-style restaurant and is a really small kitchen, so making reservations turned out to be crucial for getting in and for the kitchen to plan.
Brunch is a multi-course tasting menu, served all at one. Do you have to be okay with waiting a fair amount before your food comes out.
The food was all amazing! It’s clear the couple running things are passionate about getting high quality, great ingredients.
I’d definitely go back again.
There’s a perfect balance that’s really hard to find in life. The flavors, the way everything looks, the genuine love behind every preparation, the counterbalance, the daughter behind the counter, a couple putting everything they have into every plate, a surprise bouquet of valentines day flowers, the love the team has for each other. Everything about Honey Badger is from the heart and backed by very very rare and exceptional talent. I haven’t had a dining experience like it.
Incredible experience. Beautiful and memorable meal.
Best dining experience of my life. Seriously.
Cool “farm to table/forager” dining experience. Really personable, knowledgeable staff. Very unique experience. Perfect special occasion place for hip foodies.
Prepare to have an extraordinary experience. We loved them. All was equally magnificent . We left in awe. Best best best and best!
Amazing, unique food!
Adventure experience with edible ingredients. After 13 courses...you're satiated but not stuffed. If you're looking for dinner...this is not the place. If you're looking for a whimsical and creative food adventure...this IS the place.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening!!
Cash only $$$$
Food was excellent! Every dish was unique and delicious and the portions were just right. Considering the waiters are also the chefs, they did a great job and were very attentive. Will definitely return!
Saw so many fabulous reviews, we couldn't wait to try it. We did a tasting menu and were pretty excited to try all of the unique dishes. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty- we had one of the earlier reservations- but 2.5 hours later, we were so ready to go. The service was extremely slow- even for a tiny restaurant with a tiny kitchen. And the food, although unique and beautiful, lacked in flavor for us. Overall, we were really kind of let down.
Loved every minute of it. One of the hiden gems of Brooklyn. Amazing service and superb food. You feel the love of every one at the restaurant in every single details
Tremendous brunch. Blew us away. It was as if we’d been transported to Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Go!
Honey Badger might be the best kept secret in NYC. The couple that own, operate, cook and, often, serve you are two of the most creative people in the culinary world.
Hurry up and go before The NY Times discovers it. You might not be able to get in after. It’s that good!
We had a wonderful experience and felt speechless after each course. The food was creative, fresh, tasty, and exciting. We can’t wait to come back to this unique establishment.
Perfect spot for a low-key Sunday dinner. The food was as innovative as it was delicious, and the rest of the ambiance (playlist, gracious host) made for an enjoyable visit. A unique addition to the local dining scene - I definitely recommend!
A winter Paradise, such well balanaced dance of flavors. Thank for making my dinner party into a feast for kings.
Unexpectedly this is a CASH ONLY restaurant. It is not mentioned in the web page or open table. You are made aware only when you get the menu.
Bad surprise as I don’t carry $200 cash in my pocket. I didn’t take my ATM card that evening either so this put me in a very embarrassing situation, I won’t forget the bad feeling.
Beside that. The tasting menu and execution is researched and creative. Results is good not great but inventive. Portions are tiny. Wine selection is between one Sauvignon and one Red. If you BYO there is a $30 charge.
Net net, we won’t go back.
Breath taking fall menu, tremendous foraged fare, each dish is a frozen moment of the season.
This was the most incredible meal I’ve had in years- maybe ever! The forage to table concept, ambience and attentive service was outstanding. Plan for 3 hours, relax and let Honey Badger WOW you!
Fantastic in every way.
The food was outstanding!! Was very very impressed! Excited to return!
Best food ever! Very special! Conftible, creativit! Best restoran
Remarkable attention to detail. A dining experience unlike any other in the area. Creative and under appreciated ingredients. The chefs are a delight
My husband and I were here for a night out without our baby. We were a bit surprised about the prices but the menu items were unique enough and so well prepared that they were well worth their value. I am dairy-free and when I asked about options they not only listed what they could make dairy free but assured me that if I got a tasting menu they would give us a completely dairy free menu. There was one dish that was sent out by mistake but they not only remade the dish for me but offered us a free dish in apology that was from their omikase menu.
While pricey enough to not be a daily option Honey Badger is such a good experience that we will be looking forward to the fall and the more unique items they will be serving. Some of the dishes we had were a conch soup with a savory dashi base and served with sea beans. Another was the bison with charred red cabbage, and honestly the cabbage was one of my favorite things all night.
If you are unsure what to get but want to try a variety of dishes I suggest the tasting menu, although the entire table must participate. They serve an amuse bouche part way through which reignites the palate.
If you really want to know what happens beyond the Michael Pollan or Alice Waters slideshow, where things that grow maybe one day in a year, somewhere in the woods in undisturbed places, right outside the city, where there is no human intervention, what mixes what the farmers are growing now, this is underground restaurant and I think it’s the only restaurant in NYC that does this.
I love you Honey Badger, I love the owners and their passion they have for food.
Thank you for bringing the future here!!!
A lovely little restaurant with friendly staff. The menu is extremely limited, presumably because it's a "wild to table" restaurant, and there are generally few "wild" food options in NYC. But every menu item, except the "water fowl" (duck?), was unappetizing. The most unappetizing was a whole trout topped with flaming twigs and herbs that smelled a bit like incense and cleaning solvent. The odor penetrated my clothes and hair. The fish, however, tasted like nothing. It's a pity that the food is so bad because it's a sweet place, and the people who work there are great.
Top quality! It’s all about the tasting menu here. The summer menu was filled with lots of innovative takes on seafood and vegetables. An Intimate setting facing the kitchen to watch how it’s done only adds to the unique and delicious adventure. Best dish was the rainbow trout with black garlic, topped with majarom still on fire, Daily menu changes.
Very exclusive feel: space is gorgeous, menu is unique every single night, run by 3 guys only for a few hours only a few nights a week. The food is all *wild caught* and comes from regional suppliers. We had an amazing meal of multiple courses that included some items I had never dreamed off such as a fish that we had never even heard of before that was filled with peppers, wrapped with rosemary stems, and then crisped with a blowtorched, delivered still smoking. Very impressive and very good!
Very unique concept.
Would be great if they accepted credit cards
Very unique and cozy space. Amazed at the plating and cuisine that they’re able to execute with such a small kitchen. Very friendly server and Chef/Owner. Can’t wait to go back!
My favorite place so far! Really caring staff, delicious food and the only restaurant that accommodates my issues with strict diet I am dealing with. Every time I went no matter what the menu is they always make for me and my partner dishes that are off the menu, vegetarian and vegan dishes, veggies I never heard off!!
We always do tasting menu which is very reasonable.
I would recommend to dine during the week as the weekend seems more busy to me and since it’s small place with small kitchen it takes a bit longer then weekends. I honestly am grateful this place exists. Every time I go it’s new restaurant to me.
Thank you Chef for taking time on all details you put and care!!!
