Holy Basil in Croydon Victoria has a very simple vision, to bring wholesome, delicious and exciting food to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Our dream at Holy Basil was to create an exciting diner in the Eastern suburbs where people can relax, come together, have fun and enjoy proper homemade food in a very inclusive environment.
We are proud to deliver 100% vegan and Vegetarian options at Holy Basil, use free-range eggs and source only sustainably caught seafood as well as a range of other exciting meals with 95% of the menu being gluten free.
At Holy Basil we make our own curry pastes, sauces, desserts, chilli jam, and roti.
We happily use gluten free soy and 100% pure fish sauce.

    We have been here on several occasions now and it has been amazing every time. The Thai favourites for four people is a great way to sample a number of dishes and it's all delicious. It's a great space to be in and the service is excellent. The staff greet you with a smile when you arrive and they are very friendly and attentive throughout. The owner and head chef Duncan makes an effort to say hi and have a chat with you making you feel special and welcome. I love this place.

    Aways simply beautiful food. Each dish is sublime. Julia and Duncan are two of the the most delightful people you could possibly meet. They have created a magnificent local dining institution. We are blessed.

    Lovely food, generous amounts, it’s our go-to place when dining out that way. We went for a birthday celebration, which they acknowledged, which was a nice touch. It can be a bit noisy, but we were seated where it wasn’t too bad. It isn’t cheap and cheerful, but the quality is there so for a special occasion, it’s great.

    The menu includes a wide range of very imaginative and authentic dishes which you won’t find in most Melbourne Thai restaurants. Service is friendly snd attentive and prices are very competitive.
