Food wasn’t very good
Not worth the money
Great outdoor dining pre-red sox game! Servers were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend the shrimp toast and gochujang wings!
Waited an hour and a half for food
The casual atmosphere was perfect for our party and we all enjoyed our entree and appetizers. There is a great selection of cocktails and you’re sure to find something on the menu you like if you’re not a vegetarian. I did not see to many vegetarian options on the menu other than a salad.
Always a good meal and great drinks
Great food overall - the apps were the best but the Raman was disappointing. Great decor and friendly service.
Impeccable service, everything is delicious, great ambiance, and perfect location. Always love Hojoko
waited 45 min for a drink and when my party told our server that we didn’t want to place entrees her response was “are you good?” very short staffed!
Enjoyed the ambiance and the sushi. The chicken dish that another person in my party ordered was very flavorful.
We love Hojoko and were so excited to be back after more than a year. Service was great, food was amazing as always. Can't wait for the bar to open back up!
Sisters grad dinner.
The service was slow, simply put. Drinks took 25 mins to arrive. Food is good, not great.
Food is good! Dont get it twisted, but the total cost of the meal didn’t feel appropriate. Sushi is good, apps were better. But $242 for 4 people and long waits didn’t feel justified. Would only go back for drinks when the bar reopens.
It was good but pricey. Ramen was excellent and drinks were tasty. I don’t think it is overpriced and the food was worth it.
Waitress was inattentive and had a poor attitude. Menu was not explained, food and drinks were brought out at the wrong times. One of the plates were burnt and not fit for eating. Will not recommend this for people trying to have a decent experience.
Very loud. The food came out and it was tiny portions and way over priced. My boyfriend and I both felt sick after the meal.
Always great, never disappointed with the staff or food at Hojoko. Thanks for another great Friday night.
Food really good, pricey though. Get the Brussel sprouts!
Great sushi! Great first time out after full vaccination
Superb and fun for our son’s 20th birthday. Sam was an amazing server. She and the staff were so attentive. Love Nancy and Tim Cushman’s style of business and restaurant concepts.
Everything was terrible
My cocktail sat on the bar so long it arrived under a layer of water from the melted ice.
The sushi was fishy and mushy. Almost inedible.
The $18 Wagyu burger wasn’t even a fully formed patty. Server didn’t take a temp and it came out like 3 charred nuggets of beef held together by cheese.
I wasn’t able to complain because our server was MIA and never came back. She never presented us with the check, but we were so eager to leave we just blindly paid so we could leave.
Our friends had a similarly terrible experience the same night.
When I saw the emailed receipt I see we were overcharged for a few things. I emailed and haven’t received a response.
Overall the experience was horrendous. I am a pretty understanding person with many years in the industry... this was hands down the worst food, worst service, worst vibe I’ve ever experienced.
Still hoping they will call me back and make this right.
Worst sushi experience! Sushi was mushy and tasted very fishy (not fresh at all). Service was awful- took 30 min to get a can of Sapporo. Will never go there again.
Absolutely LOVE this place. Such a cool ambience. Very hip and unique vibe. The food was outstanding, so different and so so so tasty. We enjoyed every single dish we got here you really cannot go wrong. Service was amazing too! We're absolutely coming back!
A great game day stop with quality food and fun ambiance.
Loved the shiitake mushroom roll. Loved the sake. Loved the rice.
Hojoko is always a great time! Fantastic food (wings, burger, and fried rice are my favorites), drinks (get the 5, 6, 7, 8 and sake bombs), and fun music. The patio is safe for social distancing and the restaurant has great protocols (temperature checks and keep mask on when interacting with staff and ordering.) One of the best places in the city, for sure!
I’ve been to Hojoko numerous times in the past, and this was my first time going since the pandemic started. I’ve always had a great impression of the place especially with the food creativity and quality standards. Unfortunately the food was mediocre this time around. We ordered the Kimchi fried rice and it was extremely salty and sushi rolls were also very basic. Much of the signature menu items have been cut out such as uni toast, wasabi roulette, crispy nori tacos, hojoko rice bowl, which makes it less desirable to go back.
The existing menu items are very very limited and better quality versions of the dishes may be found elsewhere in the city.
If you are just going to Hojoko for the ambiance, it’s fun!
I went there for the food and it was quite disappointing, especially from a restaurant by the owners of O Ya.
Super yummy food, went for my birthday and the servers and staff were super friendly. loved it.
The vibe and the drinks were great but the food was subpar.
Always a favorite place of ours to go - can't beat their drinks and the perfect french fries!
Great food and service. The kimchi fried rice is AMAZiNG:-) My only disappointment was that we had requested an outside table for Covid safety but they do not have any heaters and it’s Boston- it’s cold at night in April! The manager/host was kindly able to move us inside. The tables we’re nicely spaced inside.
Food and drinks were very standard. The drinks came in small glasses with a lot of ice.
Amazing as always! Drinks, food and staff here are absolutely incredible (:
Nick and Christina we're super helpful during out dining experience. They went above and beyond to make us feel safe and attended to. We will be back!
Hojoko is always amazing-food and service are fantastic. The vibe is ultra cool and playlists are always on point!
Only rated lower because we were so cold sitting outside! Wait staff eventually moved us inside and it was perfect. Food and drinks are amazing!
We love Hojoko and the food is always awesome; however, we were seated "indoors" in the annex and it was freezing. We would rather have not been able to get a table than to be quasi-outside.
Great staff, great food, and amazing music like always. Menu was very condensed and I miss some of my favorite items but I understand the adjustment for covid. Can't wait for Ichiban nights to come back!
Service was extremely slow, hot food arrived prior to cold food and drinks. Seemed as though there was no management working.
Really delicious but small portions for price. Was hungry after sushi rolls!
Very cool spot for yummy cocktails and small plates.
We went for my husband’s birthday and it was great! The food and drinks were both wonderful and our server was very nice.
