Bill Hogan, bought the lease & took over as licensee on the 1st of August 1964. The family turned it from a simple local pub to a bustling mecca for the Bayside area, specialising in quality meals, sports, entertainment, a wide range of beer, wines & spirits as well as social functions & events.
Bill's son, Greg Hogan started working at the hotel in 1969 with the family tradition being carried on by his children Vicki, Scott, Craig & Paula.
To this end the Wellington Point Hotel has our popular Coast Bar, the famous Hogan’s Bistro restaurant, the Gold Rush Gaming room and Old Bill's, our whisky, wine & cocktail bar, which stocks Redland's most extensive range of whiskies, superb wine, beer & cocktails.
Comparing the experience to anther local pub I would not go back, the burger mince was terrible and the roast was ordinary. The kids meals came out extremely hot and then they could not eat it.
did not get outside table as requested. Waitress spent ages talking to a lady who she knew at another table instead of clearing dishes. Food OK but oysters kilpatrick not as good as they use to be
One of the best cooked steaks in Brisbane plus a great outlook across the bay. Highly recommend
I would recommend friends to go there but we were disappointed with a few things. When i went to the bar to see if we could have a water jug and glasses they said yes its there at the end of the bar so get it from there. I would have thought they could have said yes we will bring it over. There was 10 of us.
Lovely and relaxing food was great and did not take too long. Overall relaxing place for any type of celebration.
Monday night $10 steak night, plus cost of a drink. Great value
We visited on Fathers Day so was very busy as expected. Our entrees & garlic bread were great. Our table of 5 all had steaks & unfortunately all were overcooked. We made allowances for this as the restaurant was so busy. One other point, we were unaware there would be a limited menu on the day. We will return on a normal day for another try as everything else was great and we look forward to having a normal menu to choose from.

Hogan’s is a casual, relaxed environment where I love to catch up with my friends from the Bayside area on a regular basis. Everyone is always happy to meet at Hogan’s and it has everyone’s favourite food.
Unfortunately we were disappointed with our recent group lunch at Hogan's! Previously I have found the lunch specials to be large & delicious. Last Friday the quality & quantity of the food was disappointing. Also the wait time for our meals was overly long, without any staff coming up to apologize for the delay. Our drinks were good and the barman was knowledgeable.
I don't think that I'll be bringing my group of friends to lunch there again.
As always this hotel is busy on a Monday night because of the steak special

Garlic bread with or without cheese is a winner!
Would thoroughly recommend Hogan’s. They fitted us in last minute for Mothering Sunday and the food and service were excellent. I have booked again for my birthday at the end of May.
The decor is simple but the food is exceptional. Possibly the best pork belly I e d we eaten.
Good value for steak night would be good if side salad was a bit better or choice of steamed veg
This is the third time that the chargrilling on the steaks has been bitter. We all have our steaks medium to medium rare. Just disappointed as something seems to have changed, we have been eating here for a long time.

Unfortunately that night was a big storm and there was a blackout, so we didn't end up eating.
We did however get a few drinks in.
We went for steak night which is a really good deal however we waited a long time for our food. When it arrived the steak was very undercooked and it was inedible they also changed their gravy portions and now serve them in a tiny plastic container. We had a table of three and we all felt it was poor.
Good feed on a Monday night with a good atmosphere.
We enjoyed our meal however it was very noisy, we were seated in a booth which was very hot for 7 of us.
Food was excellent
We were there on Saturday night for my Nanna's 73rd Birthday. The food was amazing, everyone loved it and the whole night was great as we reserved the front area and it was a lovely, quiet and private space for our family to celebrate together. :) Thank you.
Waited over 1.5 hrs for our meal to arrive. When it did arrive it was very disappointing to say the least.
Not a pleasant experience at all.
Totally horrible experience! An hour and 20mins waiting period. The lady in the counter had no initiative to make a decision for wait on the meals. The customer service has 0 level at all! Nobody came to us and ask about our meals, instead they are just walking around and ignored us or stand in the counter area. The staff are not helpful at all, even the lady in the keno area, no greetings or smile. I hope that you guys will attend some training about customer service. Bad vibes at all.
Steaks were perfect, service was great and the view is always breathtaking from the back deck.
The food was reasonably priced and was served quickly and tasted good.

We were very satisfied overall however I booked outside seating for 3 and upon arrival we were shown to our table which was located inside, I did bring it up with the waitress and she said she was unaware of that and she would look to see if they had room outside for us but as it looked quite busy I just told her we would sit inside and not to worry. It was nothing that ruined our dining experience but they need to take more notice of booking requests for seating or don’t bother offering a choice. We will definitely return in the future 😊

For the price the food wasn’t fantastic. Steak cooked poorly, prawns left whole yet smothered in sauce so unable to peel. Not many options on the menu and grunted at from staff when requesting drinks
Fantastic steaks - equal to any of the big name steak places. Vegetables are always cooked beautifully.
Food & Ambience were good. The hotel is let down by the service model.
Ordering at the counter (food Orders) Takes to long and should not be used for Group Bookings. While a busy day, one other group table were ordering person by person and paying individually. Other [patrons were also ordering & paying one by one, this kept the line going for over 25 minutes before I could place our group order. Naturally delivery of the food was slowed as well.
Personally I would not return.
Nice venue, smell smokers as you enter the dining area , off putting, meals over priced for what you get, would not go out of our way to come back.
Food quality was good but chefs can only cook steaks Med Rare regardless of what you order (fine for me but not my husband or pregnant sister in law). Waited very long time for meals but was their Monday Steak night special and we had group if 9. I will go back again but with smaller group. Great value meal for price.

My family and I frequent Hogans on a regular basis because their meals represent great value for money. Their food is delicious - the kids love their cheeseburger kids meal - and the adult menu is also excellent. My husband enjoyed a fantastic 300g eye fillet with ribs as a special on Father's Day. Their service is always spot on as well - staff are friendly, professional and always happy to help. See you soon, Hogans!
