    Food was amazing service on the other hand I just felt like from the minute we sat down the servers were just hovering and making me feel very uncomfortable. I get we only had 1:30mins but hovering every 5mins to see if we were done was not great. Felt like I had to choke down my food.

    Took awhile to get seated for our 8 pm dinner and then get drinks but once the food started to come we were delighted with our choice. Anticipating from reviews that the place would be noisy, our party met for a quiet drink around the corner beforehand so had socially melded by the time we arrived. We went with the Feed Me Now option and there was plenty of good food.

    Our meals took so long. We did the FMN option. 2 smalls, 2 large, 1 side and we also ordered and extra side of rice. The two smalls came out straight away. But then the wait began. We even had a waitress come over and ask if our smalls had been served yet. So obviously there was something going on. We waited 40 minutes for our two large meals which came separately. When then had to ask again for our sides ( roti bread and rice ) to come out. We never ended up eating these as the rice was ment for the large meals . Won’t be back.

    Whilst the food was flavoursome and I loved the pink neon lights, I found the floor to look very dirty (though this could possibly be on purpose). The waitress took too long to take our first drinks order, we had to flag her down. The tables were too small to hold all the food. And we were kicked out after 1.5 hours as that is the seating time, and we were still eating and drinking!! How can 1.5 hours be enough time for an enjoyable, relaxing dinner? Particularly when your first drink doesn't arrive until atleast 25 mins in. I was looking forward to eating here, however next time I'll stick with my favourite Chin Chin.

    Had a lovely dinner for 5 in one of the banquets... definitely a western experience with Asian influences, -the meals were presented and detailed beautifully, really lovely entrees in particular. The service was outstanding - in this age of staff shortages and inexperienced waiting staff, we were very, very surprised at the wonderful charm and professionalism of every staff member we encountered. They are doing something right there. All in all, we had fine time. A range of drink options and nice energy to the ambience.

    From the start our waitress seemed flustered. We had to ask multiple times just for water and enough plates and cutlery. Took forever to get a waitress to take our drink orders. They also had a problem splitting the bill. We had a few people not drinking and they would only let us split it evenly. The front of house was also really rude about it. Frequent visitor don’t think we’ll be back for a while.

    I have been to Hoochi’s a number of times and have usually loved everything about the food, service and ambiance. However last night, although knowing we had a table outside, it just felt very disorganised and I had to go inside to ask for water and someone to come and take our drink orders. A bit disappointing as we were taking interstate friends out for dinner. Otherwise the food was still great.

    We were very underwhelmed coming over from Adelaide to this restaurant. Never have we had a “feed me” legit just slapped down within 20 minutes feeling forced to eat immediately over a seating time of 90 minutes. The extra money for the ribs and fish we got went to waste also, the fish “market of the day” was dry and inedible. The staff once they got the upsell of cocktails and recommendations were hardly sighted after. Poor in every aspect of the business

    First time at Hochi Mama, my partner and I were really excited to finally get a chance to go, we went for our anniversary and we had mixed feelings — i’ll just break it down here: - We were going to be a couple minutes late (Booking was at 6:30pm), I gave a courteous call about the tardiness on our end and they were really chill and appreciative of the call and upon arrival, still happy to have us :), we arrived at 6:40pm - Seating itself was.. would you say, cosy? We went with the ‘Feed Me Now’ set and we barely had any space on our table for anything (pro and con I guess) but the waiting staff were quickly attentive to remove our empty plates as soon as they noticed. Unfortunately, when my partner was drinking water he felt a minor scratch from his lip and we noticed that his glass was chipped, notified the waiting staff and they were apologetic but maybe check prior? - The food itself tasted amazing, my partner and I are both asian and we really enjoyed the asian fusion cuisine, we had Tuna Tartare, Hochi chicken banh bao (definitely would try this again), Mama’s pad thai (Prawns), Saigon crispy pork hok and as a side, Hanoi seafood spring rolls - the portion for each dish was more than adequate - Speaking of staff, it was obviously a very busy night and we understand 90min seating and a crazy and busy shift, we were told initially before being seated that we could stay til 8:15pm, which were happy to hear (additional 15min). Throughout the night we just felt somewhat uneasy and off about the service? we’re usually not one’s to complain because we work in hospitality and we didn’t want to cause any additional headaches for staff but we felt quite rushed? but when it came around to 7:45pm, we were told we had 10mins left with our booking and promptly given the check — at this point, my partner was going to speak up about how we told one thing and now we’re being told another, ultimately we decided to leave because we felt rushed to leave :(

    Been a few times to Ho Chi Mama and it’s always superb! Great value with feed me menu, we left feeling stuffed. And the Vietnamese espresso martini’s are dangerously good. The staff were also super friendly and lovely! Will definitely be back and couldn’t recommend this restaurant more :)

    Our waitress, Joy, was absolutely lovely and made our dinner an even better experience. She was energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was sensational and I couldn’t recommend this restaurant higher. Can’t wait to eat here again when I am back in Melbourne!

    The food was delicious and beautifully presented, everything tasted amazing. Best bao buns and pad thai I've ever had, yum! Cocktails were amazing, tasting awesome and visually exciting. It is a vibrant, noisy restaurant so probably more suited to a fun dinner with friends rather than a romantic lingering meal. Although, after our meal was served, it became challenging to get the attention of wait staff to order more drinks, until our allotted seating time was almost up and they bought over the bill. The only negative was that the toilets were in a really bad state, not the cleanest, water and paper everywhere, no soap and toilet seat broken.
