Food was good, but the double tip approach didn’t sit right with me. After being presented with the bill which included service charge, the card machine was presented with three options of additional tips and I didn’t feel that this was explained clearly. I felt duped by it which has left a sour taste and deters me from returning in the future.

Hispania is a beautiful space, and the staff uniforms with the Spanish flag are a lovely touch. Fun fact: the building used to be a Lloyds bank. We shared several small plates and they were all amazing: the gambas al ajillo (prawns in garlic), the black rice with prawns, and the octopus with mashed sweet potato. We were too full for a main, but we will definitely be going back to try the main plates! 😂 The desserts were okay. A few things to know before you go. The bread is cold and not complimentary, at £2 a roll I think. The atmosphere is romantic, but because of the location it suits a business dinner better - literallya stone throw away from bank station. The restaurant is closed at the weekend its a shame - basically bank area is a ghost town at the weekend so its makes sense. There is also a private space upstairs that can be rented out for events, and it apparently doubles as extra seating when the restaurant is at full capacity. ROBERTO the manager was lovely. He showed me around upstairs when I asked to have a look.

Still my fav place in London! It is a pleasure to be here every single time as if it was the first, the team is incredibly kind and professional and you truly feel taken care. The quality of their food, it’s basically like being in Spain! ♥️ thanks for the great experience and special thanks to David for birthday treat! 🙏🏼

Bread served without asking—£2.50 each rip off. Wild mushroom croquettes unpleasantly strong flavour. Service competent but severely overstretched at busy lunchtime. Very noisy. Loos poor. Gazpacho, Prawns with garlic, Game rice, very good, Flan Cremoso Al Huevo superb desert. Meal for two with one soft drink £126.

Had lunch with client and ordered several different dishes to share. Food was delicious and they split most into two portions before serving rather than crowd the table which I thought was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend
