Staff were great, food was amazing, coffee was amazing. Music was too loud but loved the dining
Great vibe and gorgeous decor. Ricotta pancakes were to die for!
Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This was our second visit and we can’t wait to return.
Return visit for a birthday treat. Nice ambience but a very busy place. The ricotta pancake was superb. Explaining the 20 minute wait for coffee and the 75 minute table limit, our waiter seemed a bit indifferent about it all.
Spoke to the teller chap about it. But we had the gnocchi, and we both hate olives,There was nothing on the menu about it. And it was so strong that We were both violently ill afterwards. I don’t think we will come back here. Even though the coffee is spectacular.
Coffees were slow, foam had dissipated both rounds as it had been sitting at counter too long.
Scrambled eggs were over cooked, solid slab.
We were reminded about “finishing up” on time and leaving within our allocated 1.15 time slot over 4 times by different people which always makes it an anxious experience.
Space was beautiful, lady at the counter who greeted you was delightful and the granola was a win.
Wish our server hadn’t suggested we couldn’t finish the hot cakes and were better off ordering something else because they looked crazy good!
Overall would kill to exist in the space and have the interior as my living quarters but won’t come back for coffee food or customer service.
Great food and a great location to meet. Service was slow.
Food was good and the views from the balcony are amazing
Good food and coffee, however the service could be improved. Requested a high chair in the booking but was not advised until presenting that none were available, and we were seated on the upper floor requiring lifting of the pram up some stairs which I feel could have been avoided.
Waitress was in a mood so we didn’t feel good being there
Always great food, amazing building. Great for brunch.
Very friendly staff, coffee is delicious and food is yummy and well presented
Beautiful venue! The service was great and the food was adventurous however I didn’t love it!
It is risible that a diner is expected to spend over $100 for two small sized plates with a glass of wine each and be turfed out after 75 minutes when a coffee on order for over 20 minutes did not arrive!
Louie and the other staff gave us amazing service!! Good food, drinks and ambiance!! Definitely recommended - an institution!
We was Rushed off the table because another group was coming in a hour , food took forever to come
When it did arrive everyones was cold.
Expensive for what you get , don’t go there if your hungry you don’t get much
Well overrated in my opinion
75 minutes is not long enough to enjoy the food and ambience. Coffees are good except they are not hot enough and too small.
Ricotta Hotcake! Absolutely must be eaten! 4 people can share, one serving:)
Amazing service and incredible food. My go-to Melbourne brunch spot.
Service was amazing, ambience is good and the food and coffee is delicious.
Service left a lot to be desired. Waited 25 minutes for a coffee, I don’t mind waiting but expectations need to be managed when the order is placed.
I appreciate things go wrong and the incident might have been a one off but the attitude was what made it worse.
Food was spot on and this along with the ambience explains the popularity of this place.
Had the lamb fry up with miso eggplant which was very disappointing. Measly portion (and i mean, TINY) of dry lamb and no eggplant in sight, turns out the eggplant was the smear on the plate. Great vibe and beautiful place but if that's what you're into and not the food, then this place is for you.
Every single time this place does not disappoint. The coffee is amazing the service is great and the ricotta hot cake is the best thing on this earth! A favourite every time I’m in Melbourne.
Insta-worthy but unnecessarily loud music and bland overpriced food.
Slow service - 0ver 20 mins to get coffee from ordering.
Scrambled eggs - very ordinary.
Had to ask for water twice.
I don’t think I’d bother again. We’ve always enjoyed it in the past.
Great food and coffee without a doubt. 4 stars for that.
Parents - fyi, this place does not have high chairs for toddlers. So maybe thats managements strategy to avoid parents in order to churn tables quicker.
Management - we understand the need to churn more people quickly given the rocky last 12 months, however, few suggestions that will assist. At the moment, your only saving grace is that your food is great.
1. Online system of ordering prior to arrival which will take the pressure off both your staff and more importantly, us your customers who are rushed to order given time limit [your menu has so many great options to choose from, makes the decision to choose harder and thus, takes time :-) ]
2. Your message on table reservation period i.e. 1 hour 15 min only, requires to be clearer to avoid confusion.
Nice atmosphere. Should have more options of brunch choices. Especially those simples brunch and breakie menu instead of those complicated menu with a lots of combination of dish.
Atmosphere is good for sure as the interior design is uniqlo and comfortable but the price of the food is over-price. Which I think the food and the price is not worth it. Should be in between $15-$22 (for brunch main menu) which I think will be more acceptable and reasonable.
This is my second visit anyway. The first time was 2 years ago which was really satisfied. But not satisfied for this time.
Hopefully the menu will have more more choices (simple) with reasonable prices.
Too Loud with the music selected - the waiting staff either are too tired or do not really care to serve other than one Indian lady - overall disappointing experience -
It was good to see an old building being repurposed and they've done a good job with the fitout. Plenty interesting choices on the menu and the food was nicely presented and tasted good. However when I chose what I wanted I was told by the waiter that it would take 20minutes to prepare and made me feel I wouldn't have enough time to eat it given that we only had the table for 75minutes and then when I chose something else they tried to upsell it by telling me I could add other things (at extra cost of course) which I had already read on the menu. On the whole it all felt a bit rushed.
Exceptional service with warm welcome. Great food & great experience.
Can't fault the food and wait staff were friendly and efficient. However the place was so loud that it was hard to hear the person sitting next to me. Also, despite having booked a table for 1pm weeks in advance, we were sat on couches next to a coffee table. It made eating food extremely difficult.
Coffees came after 20mins then 30mins then 40mins for 3 coffees, and to be told after waiting 30mins for a coffee they needed the table back regardless of when everyone had sat down and got their drinks. That would have been fine if the first time the waiter came to take an order instead of dumping the coffee down and shooting off wasn't 40mins into the sitting. Way to loud to even have a conversation, overall I would say overrated.
Very good food which is a rare find in the CBD but the Service was only adequate. I was made to wait outside until the table was ready (as they cram as many people in as possible so no where else to wait). It is also very noisy and was a little disappointed that they would not split the bill which can be quite awkward when multiple people wish to pay.
Amazing food. Went for dinner before as well. Didn’t disappoint.
The service was abrupt with a continual reminder of how long we had the table for. We sat down and were told we had 75 minutes - no problem, that’s fine. Continually pestered to order. 25 mins before our time was up we were asked if we wanted “last coffees”. Check brought to us without asking. The serving staff have an attitude that makes you feel like they have done you a favour by letting you eat there. Food was ok, but has gone downhill since our previous visit - the famous thick cut bacon is not thick cut anymore. Wouldn’t go back.
Really enjoyed our breakfast. You must book, it’s very busy. Great service will be back when visiting Melbourne
Amazing food, great for sharing. Service and ambiance was excellent too! Will definitely be coming here again!
The lamb shoulder was outstanding. The side of eggplant and figs were the perfect side. I thought it was good value for money. The wine however was way over priced at $16 a glass.
I loved the architecture and would go back for the lamb.
Last time I was here I loved it. Service has gone far downhill since food was still delicious. The hostess was quite uninterested to help, we arrived 15 min early and asked if we could be seated as there were loads of free tables by the entry, but was asked to come back in ten min only to be seated at the same free table. Slightly underwhelming.
Took about 10 min to get attention to order and once we finally got our waitress attention, the order was messed up. Once we let her know - no apology or explanation but just left.
Luckily they have an amazing manager (blond woman) who was quick to take over and got our order right and offered one free breakfast and a pot of tea so we left feeling happy but still uncertain I'll return as they charge higher than normal so expected more.
Awesome settings though!
Went for a pre drink and lunch before my bestie tried on her wedding dress. It was perfect!
Service was very poor.
Waited more than 15 mins for cup of coffee.
Small portion of food.
There was more seats but they seated my partner and I right next to the kitchen.
