Hi-Life Restaurant - Upper West Side
Hi-Life also serves a "traditional Westside" brunch that features fresh squeezed juices, complimentary blueberry muffins & cinnamon toast as well as a 2.95 brunch cocktail deal.
In the warmer months Hi-Life outdoor seating includes 28 seats along Amsterdam Ave and another 18 seats on our 83rd St side.
Great place to try their cocktails and food. Pasta primavera is delicious.
Great food, service and a really nice outdoor setting
Great experience. Great service. Great food. Keep going back!
Another great meal at Hi-Life, as usual. Delicious black bean soup. Amazing tuna nicoise salad. And the best apple pie in NYC. Great service and reasonable prices. Awesome outdoor dining setup, too. So glad that they're open and thriving!
Great food and drink as usual, great service—and setup for outdoors.
Always enjoy dining at Hi-Life. Great food and great service. Doing a fine job with outside dining with heaters and wind screens and lighting to keep the experience festive and fun. We will be back. It NEVER disappoints. Always very good.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Great food and wonderful people.
Great experience. Seated us outside under heat lamps, far from other patrons. Food was hot and perfect and yummy, great service!
Food was overpriced, a piece of pecan pie and berry pie = $8.95, each, a small Caesar salad (basically lettuce lighted sprinkled with cheese and a few crotons = $8.95, a chicken quesadilla more cheese than chicken = $14.00 , a big bowl (the only thing big was the bowl) with a moderate amount of penne pasta, a few crowns of broccoli and five shrimp = $18.95. Drinks: beer $10 and small glass of red wine $10. We left hungry.
Unfriendly owner playing the worst of the 70’s . How about a mix instead of what you like? No hello/goodbye, thank you or happy thanksgiving.
To top it off some crazy guy tried to force his way into bathroom; I yelled out and the staff ignored me like I was a troublemaker. When I confronted the owner, he blew me off.
I used to adore the east side HiLife but the west side is an overpriced dive.
Have been going to Hi Life for about 20 years and it never fails me. Also they've adapted to COVID stuff with hot cocktails and heat lamps. Lovely evening.
Great service
Solid food
Top notch pigs in a blanket
Everything was great as usual. I had the Cuban black bean soup, the tuna with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies, and the mud pie for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was terrific.
Love the chicken fajitas at High Life a neighborhood fixture.
I have never had a bad experience here. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Everything they make is good: sushi, burgers, pasta dishes, entrees, and apps. I especially love their popcorn shrimp and dumplings. They have an amazing weekend brunch as well.
Great neighborhood restaurant with diverse menu, ample portions, fair prices. friendly service. What else do you need? We have always had a great meal at Hi-Life :-)
I always love going to Hi-Life. The food and service are always great, and the prices are very reasonable. It's nice that they start serving dinner at 4:30pm - making it the perfect choice for an early dinner.
Great neighborhood spot...buzzing bar scene and more quiet seating in glassed in room. terrific drinks, really good food (far beyond bar fare.)
My favorite spot for weekend brunch! Strawberry butter on hot muffins is hard to beat.
I have been coming to HiLife for years. Ever since the Upper East Side location closed, I am happy coming to the Upper West Side location. Always amazing food, loads of options and variety. Service is never a problem - always terrific! I would suggest making reservations for weekend evening hours as it can get quite busy and wait times can vary.
Food was very good and the servings were large. It was very busy and the service was a bit on the slow side. Too dark
This was our first time. This is a good local restaurant for a casual meal.
Great service, not loud, good food. Perfect brunch experience.
Perfect for our Sunday morning brunch !
Family together at holiday time. Happy to be there in a place that provides a relaxed but festive experience.
Stopped in with our group before a show at the Beacon. Enjoyed everything about this place including the service. Great food and very reasonable. Try the crispy Thai wings. We will be back!
Date night. Great food great specials and perfect portions.
Hi-Life is a 1930s Art Deco with a 1938 Lincoln Zephyr V12 (with the back suicide doors) car parked on 83rd Street as a billboard for the place.
Mostly it's great with a couple of lesser notes.
The Chinatown Spareribs are not BBQ ribs as found in most of the Chinese restaurants I've eaten in.
I asked the waitress if these were BBQ spareribs before ordering and was told that they were. But they were not served with real BBQ sauce (e.g. red and sticky). You may like them, but I was anticipating real BBQ spareribs. The ribs themselves were very good.
The only other dish that was disappointing was the Guacamole and chips. Good, but a surprisingly small portion.
Fantastic food and amazing service! Great prices!
Pretty much a perfect brunch for 4 people in a semi-business setting. We asked for and received a fairly quiet table (even though one of our party was half an hour late); food was great, we cleaned our plates, service was friendly and efficient. Bonus points for letting us stay well after the restaurant had emptied after the brunch rush.
We enjoy the food and atmosphere every time we eat here.
The food quality has dropped from the last time I was here. Tuna tough. Veggies cold. Fries Luke warm. Disappointed.
I love this place. You can literally order anything on the menu and it will always be incredible!!! The staff is so friendly and they’ll always accommodate you whatever you need.
Good spot with good food! Service was lovely too. Loved the soundtrack playing!
Nachos were great but main course meat was overcooked and burnt.
Terrific neighborhood joint with idyllic UWS vibe. Brunch items are excellent, particularly the egg-themed ones.
Hi Life is our favorite restaurant on the UWS. Wide variety of menu choices to fit every palette. Great for all ages and meal types.
Been going to Hi Life for over 25 years. It’s funky in decor. The atmosphere is always fun and with a good buzz. Over the years it’s always had a diverse crowd in age, and life style. The menu has a lot of options to please almost everyone. Plus the food is always good to very good.
Great menu, great service, meal was excellent!
Will be back next visit
My happy hour daiquiri was VERY weak. Charged for avocado on tuna roll yet it comes with salmon roll.. strange.
I had often gone to the HiLife on the UES before it closed and was always impressed by the menu which had a wide selection and lots of choices for vegetarians which I was at the time. The West Side restaurant is smaller and on a Friday night was really noisy but they sat us (there were 4) in the back room at a table in the corner and the din was of a level that allowed conversation. The food was very good and portions were HUGE. Enough for at least2 meals for a moderate eater. The service was lovely. They did not hang over us, did not rush us and got everything right. It is not a foodie, gourmet joint, but just lots of fun and always reliable cooking. For a casual Friday night, it was perfect.
