Sad we can not return amazing food and service
The waiter said it was the last night henrys table would be open for private dining
Was a little disappointed with the service. We had to place our orders multiple times because our waiter forgot.
Excellent food and great wine list.
Second time we have ate there in as many months - doesn’t disappoint
Went there for our anniversary, the place was lovely, the staff really nice and went out of their way. Unfortunately the food was awful, my entree was probably a bad choice of mine but the cheese tasted like a plate of milk, my husbands steak was so chewy it was impossible to eat and my monk fish was so over salted , that it was so unpalatable we left there hunger.
Such a shame as it had the makings of s great dining venue
As soon as we walked into the restaurant the staff were welcoming. We were escorted to a generous table for 4. The staff were helpful and the food was excellent. Enjoyed the recommended wine and would certainly return to enjoy another evening of fine food and wine.
The food is okay but nothing spectacular. The duck dish requiring pre-order is underwhelming for the price and rather overcooked. Desert was good. The noise levels are high for the price point. Service is efficient and on point.
Food looked a bit "tired/dry" when it arrived (which was in reasonable time). Main protein portions were very quite small. Two lamb dishes arrived medium, not medium rare. Other bits were really good (entres). So overall, variable. We particularly ordered the fries with a "porcini and lemon thyme salt" as it sounded very interesting - but there was none discernible. We asked if we could have some and the waiter came back saying the "chefs were under the pump" and offered regular salt and pepper! Either they had none, or were "under the pump", but neither response is really acceptable. I got an overall sense of "superficial quality over real substance" - maybe trying to carry off a claim to fine dining on the cheap?
Ayers House is one of the most fascinating heritage buildings in Adelaide and it was a privilege to be able to dine there. The food was really good, although not the best or most integrated meal I've had lately and the service was super slow. We waited 45 minutes for our main course with no explanation, and then didn't really have time for dessert. Disappointed there were no exciting gluten-free or vegan desserts - I had fabulous food at Ayers House during a recent training course, and was surprised that some of the great food available there (such as GF vegan chocolate mousse) was not on menu in restaurant. I expected to be blown away (having never been to restaurant before) and we certainly enjoyed ourselves... Some things that would improve it for next time - a bit quieter would be nice, quicker service, more GF/vegan options (and more clarity on menu), cheese entree dish would be better warm or room temp (it was fridge cold), and I'd also love to read about some of the stories of the house, as it has a lot of history.
Beautiful building, restaurant very well designed, good level of space between tables, staff attentive but not overly intrusive. The food was very good, with the eggplant entree a delight. Highly recommend this restaurant and would dine here again.
Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you. Venue was great and service excellent .... great food
We all had an enjoyable evening. Staff were very friendly, courteous and efficient. Food was excellent. Will definitely be back. Wish you well.
Excellent value for a restaurant in one of the most historic settings in Adelaide. Lovely food and mains at great value. Entrees and desserts are relatively expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful. a recommended surprise packet.
Good for casual dining - quite different to the original Ayers House restaurant years ago. Service staff were good.
Fabulous evening. Perfect table for a long overdue catch up between interstate friends
The food was amazing, the servings were perfect size and prices were great. The service was fantastic!! I highly recommend to family and friends. I'll be back!
Very relaxed friendly bar area as you enter. The modern bar meets the old home seamlessly. The Staff were friendly, relaxed and efficient. Food was excellent , we had steak and both were cooked as ordered to perfection. This is somewhere we will go back to.
Heard about all the good comments about grand Ayers House again being open for regular dining. the good comments were well deserved.
Not many places nowadays with top notch service, white tablecloths, an absence of roaring noise and a classy yet cosy atmosphere. Surprisingly not so expensive either.
Will definitely be back for the food, ambiance, etc
Excellent food, service is a bit young and stilted but will loosen up over time, room is very nice but could be a bit warmer.
Overall a lovely night and a nice surprise and good value.
Beautiful setting, intimate, wonderful food, welcoming staff.
Food was good, however the steak and the fish were a little overcooked. Service was excellent.
Lovely setting and meal.
BYO available which is always good.
Next time we will look st having the Duck
The building itself is beautiful and the decoration goes nicely with it. The food is amazing. We had the Korean spatchcock and Sirloin with blistered green beans and all was fantastic. Nice selection of wines and spirits at the bar too.
Excellent value for money overall. Three of our group of 4 were more than happy with fantastic food at very reasonable prices, especially given the quality of the meals. The 4th diner neglected to ask what the POA was for the fish of the day and was very disappointed with the quality of the dish for what turned out to be a relatively high price. That said, we'd not hesitate to recommend Henry's Table for a quality dining experience, in a great atmosphere.
Fabulous food and staff were amazing.
I would definitely go back again.
From the friendly greeting on arrival, through a delicious decently portioned meal, finished off with desserts to delight. The whole experience was lovely. Ohh and they don't charge extra for house baked bread, I like that.
We felt that you could recommend the restaurant to anyone.
The food here was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were so very friendly and inclusive as soon as I entered. There was a lovely atmosphere too!
Absolutely loved it! Great food & service. Venue was gorgeous. Will definitely be back.
We loved the experience, food was amazing and the service very friendly. Would recommend to family and friends.
Excellent food, Very good service, Wonderful environment, Reasonable prices. Unfortunately, parking is not free.
On arrival we were made to feel very welcome, and I was offered a glass of wine/bubbly on the house to celebrate my birthday which was a lovely welcome. Staff were very friendly and service impeccable. The food was sublime, the flavours exceptional, the Korean spatchcock the best I have had anywhere, every course was faultless. I would definitely recommend Henry's Table to anyone looking to enjoy a great night out in fab surroundings. Thank you Henry's Table for making my birthday so memorable.
A surprise. Good atmosphere, very considerate and polite staff. Food was very good. A very pleasant experience.
We booked for a table of 8 and upon arrival were told to just find a table. We were then ignored for approximately 20 minutes (no menus, no drinks order, no acknowledgement we were even there) when we finally ordered drinks the order came back wrong. We had to order entrees twice and the duck wasn’t available and then there wasn’t enough pork for the replacement orders. As we had waited long enough we ordered some fries as we were all starving. We had to ask for these on three seperate occasions and when they did come out the bowl was so small we got approximately 3 fries each (would of ordered more if advised by wait staff). Waited for an hour for entrees and some were ok but others inedible. We canceled our mains and walked out only paying for our drinks.
REALLY REALLY DISAPPOINTED!!! Will not be recommending to anyone!
Fabulous evening, great food, superb service and magnificent wine range
We came back to Ayers house to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary (we got married at Ayers House) was nice to be able to come back and have an exquisite meal and choices of local produce and wines - beautiful!!
An excellent menu that was sufficiently eclectic to cater for all tastes. Then Wine list was good with a broad price range. Service was very good with knowledgeable attentive staff. The Noise level was very obtrusive but staff responded by lowering audio volume. Would return
We discovered the gem that is Henry’s Table. If you want excellent food, great service and an atmosphere where you can chill and talk, this is the place
Wonderful dining experience perfect for our wedding anniversary
The service was fantastic the staff were very friendly, intuitive and convivial
The food was beautifully presented and great flavours. All in a beautiful setting
Wonderful evening, food was exceptional. Great value overall. Totally recommend and will certainly be returning!
Outstanding food and service
very helpful staff, there was a mix up with our order but this was sorted, a really nice experience would have prefered the single table rather than the upright non-intimate seating there did not seem to be a choice of seating available, but all in all very good, will go again regards David & Mary
