The service and food were amazing. I've had a great time with my family.
Great range of food options. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Offering carafes of wine is also great value. Slight confusion with booking online for table options but readily sorted. Service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend and will probably visit again.
Took me back to Spain! Absolutely loved it! The food was amazing! Prawns super fresh and cooked to perfection!
Heno & Rey had the atmosphere, impeccable food and affable service that would be expected of a bill three times the amount we payed. Perfect pre-theatre or for an intimate date, the Spanish Tapas menu offers a range of options, perfectly providing for the adventurous and the more conservative to enjoy a meal together- something that is often a trying task!
It was delicious and the service was great. The octopus was particularly yummy as was the squid. The wine list was also tasty.
Lovely food and outstanding service. Will definitely be back.
The food at Heno and Rey is good, the staff are pleasant, it is convenient for His Majesty's Theatre but the loud music makes conversation impossible and spoils what otherwise would be a pleasant evening. It also shuts early which is shame so dining after a show is not an option.
Great food, friendly service and good spot for people watching. Will be back for sure.
Really impressed with Heno & Rey, the food was cooked fresh to order and tasted like genuine Spanish tapas.,...took us back to being in Ibiza nibbling on tapas & drinking sangria in local restaurants :-) Tomato bread was lovely, as were the croquettas & patatas bravas. Star of the show was the fish - absolutely divine. Sangria was good too. Definitely recommend.
The venue is in an excellent position and has great potential. The food was relatively good, however, the service is not up to standard. On arrival we were pointed in the direction of our table and left to find it ourselves. We spent approximately 3hours at the venue and were approached only once to ask if we would like to order food/drinks. Considering at least 60% of the tables were empty, this is simply not good enough. We would have ordered plenty more to drink if the staff had been attentive. We were not even offered water for the table until we flagged someone down.
A fabulous pre theatre dinner! Service was wonderful, every dish was super tasty, presented beautifully and able to be shared. The staff made it easy to order extra dishes when our taste buds were so tantalised that we wanted a second or sometimes a third of some of our orders. Perfect in every way!
Shocking service. Arrived at 6pm. Had been sitting for 30minutes without any service. Had to get up and ask someone to take out order. So 45 min before anyone approached us or even got some water for the table. Had a show to attend at 8pm so then it was rushed and we couldn’t order any more food or drinks. The food was good but was a very disappointing evening as we had recommended the restaurant to the friends we were out with.
Excrllent waitress and excellrnt before going across the road for theatre.
Outstanding food and wine. Service was very good. Great location.
This was a great venue for its proximity to His Majesty’s Theatre and the menu perfect for a quick meal of shared plates, prior to the show.
Great for pre theatre food. The croquettes were a standout - with actual ingredients not just packed with rice. Great lighting for a date night
Some mix up with meals for other customers. No big deal
The food was divine and the service excellent. Perfect spot to have dinner before a show at His Maj and a drink afterwards.
Went to this restaurant before a show at His Majesty's as part of a catch-up with friends. The food was beyond our expectations, the service was friendly and they ensured we finished in plenty of time to stroll across the road to the show. One person was gluten and milk product intolerant, this was catered for and we were all able to share and enjoy the dishes. The ambience was fabulous and the prices were reasonable. Parking was close by and not overly expensive. We all said that we would definitely go back and can't wait to enjoy the outside area on a lovely warm evening, it looks very inviting. I have already told a number of people about this gem of a restaurant we found in the city.
Staff were friendly and quick with our orders. Food was very tasty. Excellent wine list. Enjoyed the sangria.
Good food, drinks and atmosphere. Unfortunately, not enough staff on the evening to cope with pre-theatre rush
Unfortunately food was average. Not all our dishes came out in time as we were going to a show. The staff did their best. The set up for receiving patrons is confusing and then having to queue to pay cause there isn’t enough staff looking after tables is also annoying! Why isn’t there a floor manager just floor managing. It looked like staff were having to do more than one job.
Brilliant location and terrific service and food.
Fantastic traditional Spanish food, amazing aged jamon (the Iberico in particular), tapas sharing (suits 2 or 3), also loved the Tomato Bread, Morcilla Sausage (Blood pudding) with Duck Egg, and Snapper Cerviche. Limited wine list, however some quality, affordable Spanish wines. Some quirky ideas with imported sardines served in tin. Perfect opportunity for those rekindling memories of Espana!!!
Excellent location. Enjoyed the sangria and raw bar.
Fast and efficient service. Waiter was very helpful selecting menu items. Great sangria and tapas.
Lovely atmosphere and very attentive service. As a table of six we sampled a lot of the menu and we were very happy with every dish. Stand outs were the mushroom salami, salt and pepper squid and croquettes. I will definitely be back soon.
Food is great. I know it's tapas but for the price of some of the plates I think the serves are too small. Drop the price a bit or increase the portion. Service is friendly and reasonably quick. They forgot one of our dishes and then gave it to us for free so I thought that was a good approach. love the seating, love the style of service and plates etc. will definitely go back again .
Fabulous for a pre-show dinner! Shared plates offer tasty variety. Enjoyed background music.
We were very please with the ambiance and service of your restaurant. Our main meals were both tasty and well presented. The starter which was squid was disappointing as it was very over cooked and "rubbery".
Service was very poor, we were in a corner, virtually ignored for most of the night, food orders not placed and drink orders forgotten. Had to wait for our meals despite letting them know on arrival we had a theatre performance to get to. Food was over priced and average.
Excellent design concept. Enjoyed the menu and service was fast and efficient.
It actually should be Heno & HEY - can you serve me please!
True to it’s name, in Spanish, the name refers to the location - on the corner of King and Hay - previously CBD as part of the now defunct Rydges hotel.
Frankly the food here is fab. Aligned to traditional tapas style, the serves are petite and beautifully presented.
Having dragged a couple of friends along, Muzz and the stunning Bluey, the Uber Blonde snagged a table outside in the weakening sun and revelled in the superb Spanish whites on offer. Verdejo, Godello and Albariño all crossed the table. More about that later.
The food was well above what we have previously enjoyed in this style, slightly smaller serves but punching above their weight in flavour and texture.
First off was Snapper with chickpeas, greens and fragments of chorizo was a delight and a surprisingly complimentary combo.
Squid, sausage with duck egg, kingfish cerviche and heirloom tomato salad rounded off a brilliant showcase of what is a promising kitchen.
As a fan of all things Spanish, the wine list here is well rounded with sprinklings of brilliance, the Mengoba Brezo Godello a case in point. A dry white originating in Godella in northern Spain, it’s also grown in Portugal, and has a refreshing snap to it and is designed to be consumed at room temperature.
If you spot a bottle grab it!
As a spot for a relaxed long lunch it’s fab, edgy food but the service borders on appalling (we had to ask to have the plates cleared at least four or five times), so practice your “waiter hailing wave”, you will sure as hell need it.
Outstanding food and wine. Great vibe and location.
Brilliant location and superb food.
Food was yummy, good location if you want a meal before a show at His Majesty’s. Some of the plates were maybe a bit overpriced considering the serving size (and in comparison to other places in Perth that serve tapas). Service was okay... our waitress was great but the restaurant definitely needed more staff on to be able to adequately cope with the number of patrons.
Fabulous as always, food is so consistently good...love it
Plenty of options on the menu. A great ambiance and location. Service was fast and definitely will return.
Am enjoyable lunch. The ambiance is exceptional and a great location. Food was fresh and delicious and plenty to choose from. The sangria was perfect.
Food was lovely but there were some disappointing issues with the menu. The “beer and ciders” menu had no ciders. There was a specials list appended to the front of the menu but stupidly that was for specials starting the following week. Why put these on the menu in advance without them actually applying? When we happily tried to order them we were told they started two days later. I’d suggest that if you advertise something on the day, it should apply on the day!
