Heno & Rey Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately waited 25 mins to get a glass of water as they were understaffed. We almost walked out as it was a warm day. Food was ok. Had several tapas plates. Prawns and whitebait were too small in serving and not VFM. Chorizo was ok. Iberico ham ok. Goat and cow cheese too small. Drinks were fine when arrived. It's a nice venue for lunch and my wife and I enjoyed having a rare lunch. The service did pick up once customers departed. I think this place will be popular but tapas should arguably be better value for money like it is in Spain. We may have been unlucky so worth a visit.
When wait staff don't write down you order there is ALWAYS - (100% every time, in every restaurant, in every city ever!!!!) - ALWAYS something not right with the outcome.
Just write it down please, save your customers nerves
Apart from that - I really enjoyed the experience
The selection of food was good and we were happy with all the items we ordered. Some things were a little on the pricey side for the portion size ($17 for 2 garlic prawns) but overall value for money wasn’t too bad. Main issue for us was that they were understaffed and so we were waiting a while to order and food started coming out before our drinks arrived. They managed ok considering and food was prompt but really could’ve done with 2 more people on the floor. I’d still be willing to go again as it’s a lovely spot.
Went to Heno & Rey for a pre event meal. Food was good and service pretty good, but dishes were not massive to share for the price. Would recommend this restaurant though for special occasions and casual dining. Think a few things need refining and staff could do with a bit more knowledge around the menu although one of the chefs was on hand to answer any questions we had about the food.
Thank you Heno & Rey for delivering not only amazing customer service, but also delicious tapas and drinks. The octopus and skate wing are to die for and so is the cheese selection and charcuterie section. Well picked wines and homemade sangria - what else could one wish for! Definitely THE new hot spot in Perth and a must do this spring and summer!
Having read reviews which rated Heno & Rey "Excellent" and "Very Good", we were actually really disappointed. Everything was just okay. When paying high prices we expect to be impressed and unfortunately on this occasion we weren't. Hopefully just teething problems as they haven't been open long, but we probably won't be back.
Took a date here on their opening night and we were very impressed. The decor is beautiful - sultry and dark. The staff were very knowledgeable and attentive without being too in your face.
We let the chef decide and had the snapper ceviche, chorizo, pork neck charcuterie, squid, and chicken thighs with romesco sauce. Everything was amazing - very high quality ingredients cooked well. Priced very reasonably.
Would be a great Friday night drinks spot too - I'll definitely be back.
