Best restaurant in Airlie! We are looking forward to seeing you reopening in the new venue! I recommend you keep the name!
By far this was the best dinning experience we had in the Airlie.
From the moment we sat down, the service was superb, the meal was perfect and the deserts OMG.
We will be back.
Simply good - food, wine, service and atmosphere + nice view. Plus on the evening we were there there was a great pianist entertaining us.
Food is outstanding, best steak and desert we have ever had.. Perfect setting with tremendous views, would recommend to all.
We had a wonderful dinner at Hemmingway’s The views are unbeatable and the food is great. We thought it was by far the best restaurant in Airlie Beach.
Very good managerial service....the ground staff were new and very service oriented but not diligent enough with the shortage of item on the wine menu. Manager came to the rescue and solved the problem as it should , obliging to the suggested alternatives.
Food was delicious....perhaps the addition of a BROWN chocolate dessert like a mousse would be a touch of class.
Very good ambience and settings.
The meal here was lovely, but slightly disappointing. The starter of lamb was delicious. But the barramundi for main lacked flavour. Cocktails were delicious. Overall slightly overpriced for food. But beautiful setting.
My husband and I had a wonderful meal and watched the beautiful sunset. Were blown away by the tastes and presentation of each meal.
Only downer was we had a fellow patron sitting close by talking on his phone which was very loud and intrusive. Some people are losing the art of respect!
Food is fabulous, lovely restaurant. Great atmosphere.
Great atmosphere awesome food.
Portion size perfect emphasis on quality.
A little pricey and limited wine list but overall great
we have been back a few times and enjoyed each time
Will be back again when we return next year
Relaxed Luxe dining - food presentation was the talking point simply art. Wonderful food texture. Only feedback is I would have expected and did ask for Havana Club as Ernest classic drink was Cuba Libre which I was prepared to order. I would visit again.
The food was outstanding however there was no one on staff able to answer questions about wine. Intrigued by a varietal I was not familiar with, I asked the waitress about it. She said she didn’t know and would go ask. She came back to say her manager was looking it up and trying it herself. A shame that the FOH knowledge didn’t match the kitchen’s expertise. Everyone was friendly and polite and I would return, with lowered expectations on the service.
Great food and a menu that catered for my vegan daughter. Understated and professional table service. Pleasant ambience. Overall a most enjoyable evening.
Service is always outstanding and the view is to die one of my favourite places to have a cozy dinner or catch up with friends for a quiet wine or 2 .
Restaurant fit out is very well done so would recommend for a drink. We were very disappointed with our meals though - for the money very poor.
Beautiful restaurant, with ocean views. Superb customer service, attentive, fun, fabulous waitress.
Fine dining.
Awesome cocktails.
A romantic setting overlooking the marina.
Also a bar for casual drinks, courtyard setting overlooking the marina.
Live music entertainment.
5 star recommendation.
Will definitely dine at Hemingways when visiting Airlie Beach again.
Had a lovey time watching the sun go down and enjoyed many fantastic seafood varieties.
We had an excellent experience finishing with a friendly chat with Seb the chef came away still talking about a wonderful night Charles
Probably the best food I’ve had since living in Mackay. Really good menu and just very different from the normal plates you see on the menu. The only thing that let it down was the wait for our food. Our main was nearly an hour after our starter.
Amazing food and beautifully presented, has lovely decor and view - this is our favourite special occasion restaurant in Airlie Beach.
Amazing. Customer service was exceptional would recommend this restaurant 110%
Food was amazing, atmosphere was amazing!
This was the most amazing night here. The service was incredible, the food was amazing couldn’t fault this at all. Will deffinately be back!
Nice food but found the music to loud for fine dining and had trouble hearing others at the table as everyone in the restaurant was talking louder to beat the music.
Went to Hemingway's this week for the third time. As usual the venue, service and food was just lovely.
Blew me away. Everything was spectacular and a great way to try something new or a funky combination. The cafe martini dessert was especially outstanding, quite possibly one of the best things I have ever eaten.
Hemingways came with a good reputation and high expectations but we were let down by inconsistent food, poor service by inexperienced waitstaff and non-availability of wines (not once but twice!!)
Amazing food at the lay day yacht racing lunch. Very glad to be able to do lunch which we did several times last year but have missed this year. We prefer lunch out rather than dinner. Very friendly locals -appreciated their company.
Beautuful room with a good fit out and great location.
Food was poor value and cooking was overcomplicated and imprecise. Duck was explained to be served MR on ordering. Both serves were WD.
Our waitress was a Scottish girl, she was nice.
Food sensational. Awesome views. Fantastic wine. Worth trying.
The food was very tasty and imaginative. The waitress, Angie, was very friendly, and reasonably efficient though seemed slow with wine service.
The matre d seemed not to know how to smile, and even though she was on the floor both serving and supervising she also seemed unwilling to pour wine, even when visiting the table to deliver food. Whilst we would not necessarily expect this service in all Airlie Beach cafes etc, this venue is supposedly a little more sophisticated and service expectations therefore higher. Attention to detail just not quite there.
Great place for a pre-dinner cocktail. Menu has a wide choice, make sure you start with the oysters!
Service very friendly and the view outstanding of the marina!
Outstanding food, service & live acoustic singer. The beef cheeks & oysters are a must try.
Food was presented very well and tasted nice. The service however was poor and needs improvement.
Awesome. Had a ball. Great food. Great View. Can not complain at all. Keep it up guys.
This was a lucky find for me. Stunning location and scenery but was even more blown away by how fresh and flavourful the food was!! I had such a satisfying experience and will definitely be back, Thank you!
A wonderful and surprisingly good meal in an incredible location. The chef did a good job of playing with flavor combinations and textures, he/she would fit in well in a Michilen starred restaurant in NYC or SF. Thoughtful and attentive service and a view that encourages you to savor the moments between courses.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend a visit.
When eating at a hatted restaurant, there are certain expectations, the biggest being that the food will be spectacular and the service excellent. Our waiter was obviously inexperienced which was fine, but the front of house manager spent the entire evening at the service counter out back and never once shadowed the waiter, or asked us (or anyone else) how the evening was going.
After 15mins of waiting, we said we hadn’t ordered. The waiter walked off and served others (who arrived after us) for another 5 mins or so before returning. The waiter didn’t know what cutlery to lay out for entrees and took away the entree knife with the bread and never replaced it. We eventually helped ourselves to a knife from another table, and when we pointed this out, there was no apology, no acknowledgment that this shouldn’t happen, and it wasn’t replaced on the next table either.
The food was plated VERY attractively and most of it was really tasty. However, the honeydew consumee with the smoked trout was ‘on-the-turn’ and imparted an “off” flavour to the rest of the dish. We couldn’t point this out because there wasn’t a waiter available to speak with, though there were 3 chatting together at the bar for about 7 mins.
Mains were lovely but served literally 45 seconds after entrees were cleared, not even allowing us time to take a sip of wine in between. Every meal was very “busy” but the quality was excellent... perhaps less is more though, as it’s easy to see how the ‘busy-ness’ might slow down the kitchen. The people next to us waited over an hour for their meal and the whole night felt so ‘Faulty Towers’, we didn’t stay for dessert.
We had other meals with service problems in Airlie Beach but those were rectified by senior staff, apologies and a complimentary drink. Here, nothing more than a big fat bill and some poor memories... really disappointing!
We simply loved our meal at Hemmingway’s for the ambience, quality and affordability.
a beautiful meal in a lovely location with awesome wines and excellent service. A great way to spend my husbands birthday and our last night in north Queensland
