Hearth Restaurant - The Ritz-Carlton, Perth
When we booked we asked for a nice table as it was our wedding anniversary, instead we got probably the worst table, right next to a large table for a 75th birthday. However when we arrive there was still a booth available and other seats with better views etc.
We were asked what type of water we would like and replied ‘sparkling’ although this appeared on our bill we were only served tap water.
Entree was lovely, however after waiting an hour for our mains and noticed that people who arrived after us had now finished their mains we asked the waiter where they were. After some frantic discussion with the kitchen we were informed they had ‘been sent away’ so they would make them now. The food again for mains was lovely, however we had to ask for our water and wine glasses to be refilled on more than one occasion. To apologize we receive the desserts that were part of the $99 3 course set menu for free. They arrived as soon as we had finished eating our mains. However, this was not followed up with the offer of coffee / tea or anything else to drink. We decided to get up and leave, definitely won’t be returning any time soon.
Restaurant not cosy / fancy (maybe because tables close to the window), usually Ritz around the world are better.
Service was not efficient but at least the manager (French guy) tried to help as servers were not on top of it.
Menu not special, it was just ok, Ritz is well known for good food and creative menu, and on top of the poor options the presentation at least from my plate was very very poor, making me disappointed The quantity of food was also disappointed, all 3 meals at least the bread served (and charged - which is embarrassing) helped to not make me left the restaurant too hungry.
The food and atmosphere was beautiful. Unfortunately the service for us on the night was not on point.
We had high expectations of Hearth and we were not disappointed at all! We'll look forward to enjoying another visit soon.
Underwhelming. We were ignored for 15mins after being seated despite trying to catch the waiters attention, no one seemed interested in the customer. So we left.
Amazing...loved it!! Special occasion destination x
From the welcome to the table service, the food and the wine list, everything exceeded our expectations. It was impeccably comfortable but not pretentious and made for a memorable birthday celebration.
Be prepared for a long wait if your taxi needs to negotiate the traffic log jam around Elizabeth Quay. Walking is a better option!
Octypus entree was very tasty, kingfish entree was very clean and refreshing. Fish of the day main was excellent and the beef cheek main was cooked to perfection. we like it pink. Bread and butter is always interesting here and the potato mash one of the best sides.
Excellent food and anbience. Waiting 40 minutes for the dessert to be served was a tad bit excessive.
I found the food to be ok.
Service wasn’t great waitress was lovely however not enough staff.
Restaurant has cold feel no warmth very clinical.
Food was fantastic, service was good, but wait staff were very busy, could have been more attentive for a 5 star experience. The setting and ambience was a bit too hotel like for me. It was obvious that they were churning through serious numbers and sitting times on a Saturday evening. For a special occasion venue it could have improved in ambience. Still worthwhile and overall positive.
I had high expectations for this restaurant. The overall experience wasn’t amazing. It was still good food but I wouldn’t rush back.
Food was covered in sauces and too many strong flavours made it unpleasant. We won't be back or recommending Hearth to others
Loved this restaurant
Excellent food and presentation
Ambience was subdued
Venue was full but didn’t feel busy
No noise! I could hear my companions but not the people at the next table!
At last 10/10
I like your place because is very good convince with a good food and good staffs
The service was embarrassing: 40 minutes wait to have a drink at the lounge; nobody asking if we wanted more wine after we finished our glass with the starter and the cherry on top of the cake was that we were asked if we wanted the bill before the dessert arrived.
The menu , with its focus on indigenous spices, was appealing and largely very tasty, although the lamb loin was nearly pure fat and vey disappointing. The service was good but the waitress served the smallest glasses of, not inexpensive, wine I have seen. Clearly trying to squeeze eight or nine glasses out of a bottle.
The food was really great but it wasn’t anything wow. The ambiance at Wildflower is better.
Overall disappointed with the experience and wouldn’t rush back any time soon
The food was very tasty and lived upto the fine dining experience. Service was excellent with courteous and friendly staff attending to our needs. Waterfront surroundings were nice for a walk following a good meal. Overall, the dining experience was memorable.
Ignoring the terrible bar we were happy with our experience at the restaurant. However, why are staff wearing masks and describing the food incomprehensibly? Ambiance is poor and feels like the staff canteen. We liked the menu and enjoyed the food and wine. Not fine dining in my book and wouldn't go back. Not sure why Perth puts up with this average product - it wouldn't survive a week in any other city undet normal circumstances.
The food was amazing and worth the money! The wine though was a little on the pricey side. What we drank was cheaper to buy by the glass than by the bottle which we found surprising.
Service was impeccable!
- great staff if not a little too young and inexperienced
- food was excellent however you left wanting more. We actually had a second meal at the bar upstairs
- overall we had a good time but probably would choose else where next time around
great evening thanks which we enjoyed thoroughly great staff
As anticipated, our lunch was just lovely. The selection was imaginative and delicious. Our only surprise was that, although the dining area looked stylish, it seemed a little cold, both in temperature and ambiance.
Great service and absolutely fantastic food.
Slight disappointment with not finding a steak on the menu but the transition to fish was well worth it.
Mrs and I arrived early and and the table was not ready, so the staff encouraged us to enjoy the beautiful bar at the Ritz.
Loved the experience and will recommend anyone wanting to enjoy a lavish evening on the quay.
The setting and food was outstanding. My only concern is the time to get drinks delivered to the table.
A huge thanks to all the staff at Hearth, particularly Abby & Ella for their excellent service. The food was incredible, and well presented. We will go back for sure
Amazing service and delicious food. Portion sizes could be a little larger - or please include some sides as part of the $95pp rather than as an additional cost.
The 3 course meal was really good value. My wife is a vegetarian, and she was very happy with her vegetarian meal, and she loved the ice-cream desert option. Abby was our waitress for the night, and her service was outstanding. Other staff was also lovely. Highly recommended for a night out as a couple or as a family.
Great food, great service, ambience lacked warmth!
Have eaten at Hearth a number of times, usually it’s been quite good but on this occasion very average
Service was poor, both inattentive and lack lustre
Food was average - duck was overly fatty, set menu was boring and the octopus starter was tough
Left feedback with the waitress and all we got was “I’ll let chef know” - nothing done or offered
Wouldn’t bother returning in a hurry - much better options at Crown Perth
Service was underdone. We waited 25min after seating to get our bottle of wine order. Tables around us got their drinks even though they arrived after us. No device during meal and then we had to walk to front desk to pay bill as we waited for them to bring ... but it never came. Appallingly under staffed.
Food was excellent. Service was transactional at best. Felt like a hotel restaurant.
Was spewin we couldn’t have a drink at the bar after our meal
Service was a little poor.
A great menu , with excellent service
Appreciated the staff wearing face masks .Must become the standard in Australia for food preparation and service -well done .
We were a little disconcerted before our reservation to receive notification from the online booking site that our reservation had been cancelled 'by the restaurant'. On checking with the restaurant, this proved to be an error but we could easily have gone elsewhere and missed out on a special evening.
The menu was enticing, the flavours and textures were perfectly balanced, the wine recommendations were well-matched. The service was attentive with diverse questions answered appropriately.
It would have been good to be able to round off the dinner with a coffee or tea but this was not available.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience and very appropriate for a special occasion.
Two major issues:
1. On booking, no indication was given on parking situation, which is a problem.
2. The refectory style furnishings and layout do not engender a ‘fine dining’atmosphere.
Lunch. Restaurant half full. Bread was dry and took 20 mins. Octopus was overloaded with chilli. Other dishes on point. Set menu. No a la carte menu. Overcharged $40. No call back.
