Hearth Lounge - The Ritz-Carlton, Perth
The only issue I had was that the tea was not served in thin lipped tea cups but thick pottery coffee-style cups - it was explained to me that this is the 'look' you are going for at the Ritz, however, if you are a tea connoisseur you know tastes better in bone china - as you are offering high tea I assumed you would expect customers who know their tea and like it served in china.
Saying that, the waitress rectified my issue immediately and gave us two cups from the dining area which were thin lipped china.
Seating and orders taken, food arrives, but where are the drinks/coffee? We ask, they arrive, no apology. Food plates -savoury were cleared, food good but so little quantity for the money. Second round of savoury arrive. Scones were so small they were over cooked and tough, sweets better. Perhaps allocate one staff member per table, not one for drinks, one for food, one to clear and ask how was it? Interesting that the blinds came down to stop the westerly sun, no view of Elizabeth Quay or the rver. Summer is coming will the blinds ever be up?
High tea service was not good. Waited an hour between the 3 savoury items and the 3 sweet items. The food wasn't overwhelming good either. Definitely expected far better for a 6 star hotel.
Very disappointed in service and value placed on child guest. Time to wait for service was far too long. Would not recommend
Went for the Ritz-Kids high tea, and had the adults as well as kids menu. Both menus were very good, and the one catered for children made them feel special. Recommend.
Lovely food, staff very professional and attentive. Very quick on the free-flow bubbles too which was greatly appreciated.
One suggestion would be to only bring down the blinds a little as the sun gets lower, rather than closing fully which spoils the view to the outdoors.
Our High Tea was ‘okay’. We were expecting a much more exciting food experience, however it was very average- 3 savouries, 2 with bread and one small tasteless chess tart. The sweet options were better, but nothing really WOW!
During the week I phoned to find out about parking options. The phone rang out 3 time before it was finally picked up, not really good enough at a 5 star hotel. The excuse- we’re having a busy day.
I won’t go back and certainly won’t recommend the Ritz-Carlton High Tea.
Beautiful location perhaps a hot savoury would have been nice as well instead of all cold food.
Lovely venue and the desserts were amazing! Great for a special event.
The best high tea we have been to. High quality food. Champagne was very nice. Service excellent.
Nice environment and clean food
Very slow service for afternoon tea ....actually had to ask for the tea to be served more than halfway through the food.....no offer of extra tea . The servings were small especially the scones ..one tiny scone per person and were cold although served in a special iron skillet to keep them warm ....overall a poor experience for a 5 star hotel there are much better afternoon teas in Perth!!
we all enjoyed the high tea and the different flavours / tastes of the items. The person who had the gluten free option said that the bread & scone were some of the best gluten free bakery they had tasted
Great service, spectacularly prepared food. Wait staff very polite and professional but still down-to-earth.
The High Tea was delicious and the food was of the highest quality. The presentation was gorgeous and the service was good. The birthday girl loved the experience which is really all that matters.
The experience was expensive and some on our table through that the value for money wasn't necessarily there, we all had a good time.
Great Venue, expected it to be a lot more plush and upmarket for the Ritz ... tables and chairs no different to any mediocre restaurant.
Food taste was good, service good but we ended up going out to eat as only 3 Savoury and 3 Sweet servings for a High Tea was just not emnough for $65.00 each $10.80 for literally 2 bites on each was just not good value. Had there been another 2 Savoury or 1 each then I would have said OK.
Sorry but just on the decor and the value for money ... we will not be back.
The high tea was lovely. The girls asked for another pot of tea but I think they may have just added hot water to the pot. For the money I thought this could have been done better.
Staff were warm and very professional.
High tea items were unique & delicious.
Awful experience. Service was practically none existent. Waited one hour four out first tier to arrive, food was cold and stale tasting. Didn’t even have any hot tea, even when we asked a waitress we was informed we don’t get it due to have the sparkling wine option (even though it’s more expensive) and people around us had both. Avoid don’t waste your money much better ambiance and service elsewhere in Perth.
The afternoon tea high tea was unique. Fine dining at its best . Food was impeccable, service was fantastic . Highly recommend and I will be back
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great food and great service.
High tea was nice, but it took around 30 minutes for our food to come out. Food was quite nice but didn't blow my mind. Ambience was nice enough, but again not amazing, jut modern and quiet. All wait staff were lovely though. Overall nice, but probably wouldn't go back for $65 plus for alcohol.
We had high tea. Food & service impeccable. Only wish the portion size is slightly bigger in the savory selection.
We enjoyed High Tea on this visit
The savory selection was amazing, whereas the sweet portion, except the scones and jam, was only average
My friends and I had a great time at Hearth lounge. It was one of my friend's birthday party and we decide to have an afternoon tea at the newly opened Hearth lounge - The Ritz Carlton hotel.
The presentation of its afternoon tea are very unique. They serve premium quality food and I love the idea that they used our fresh local produce as much as possible. Especially WA produced Futari Waygu beef.
Mini piazza is definitely the hero dish to me. A lot of flavour and they are very tasty.
Geraldton wax is a type of edible flower that were used in the afternoon tea. The tiny flower has a unique taste and it looks so pretty! I enjoyed it very much.
I love the décor of Hearth Lounge. Even the little vase on the coffee table is made from Kimberley stone.
Overall, we enjoyed our afternoon tea at Hearth Lounge and will visit again very soon!
Food was fantastic. Was awkward at the end to pay - no where to stand. And one toilet is not enough.
