The food was exceptional. Gorgeous mix of flavors. Generous portions.
Service matched the food and was amazing.
We have loved Harvest in the past exquisite. This time lunch was ordinary. Ambience of Christmas and Harvest nil. Went for our daughters 21st. A total disappointment.
Harvest is a hidden gem. Beautiful food in a lovely rural setting.
A long time since I have been up that way but Harvest was every bit as good as it was the last time: probably better. It was the ideal place for a catch-up lunch lingering over an outstanding meal. Attentive and friendly service was another plus as was the overall ambience of the place. Excellent.
Wonderful food and service. Bringing our toddler didn’t feel like too much effort - colouring pencils provided and the veg garden out back was a good place to explore.
The experience at Harvest was totally delightful. There wait staff were friendly helpful and attentive. The food was exceptionally good. We requested a vegan meal and the chef went out of his way to create a truly delightful range of food for us. The quiet romantic atmosphere made for a really memorable evening.
This beautiful restaurant once again fulfilled our expectations. The attentive staff know everything about the menu and the wines. Definitely a destination experience.
The wines listed were poor. We had a Pinot Noir from 2018 which tasted very young. We could not find a Shiraz (our drink of choice) from any of the quality regions. We were disappointed.
The food was ok.
Service was excellent.
When we arrived we were ask to sit and wait for our table, which wasn't a problem. However once seated we were rushed after only being seated for max 30 minutes, we were told the kitchen was closing and we had to order. This was not communicated to us at time of booking or when we arrived. We usually love visiting harvest for the relaxed laid back atmosphere. Instead we were made to feel rushed and as though we were an inconvenience. Have been visiting for seven years and now hesitant to return.
We’be Been coming here for 20 odd years and this is probably the most disappointed we have been. Breakfast was always our fav meal here and although it was still yummy, portions were tiny and they just didn’t seem as gourmet as usual. There was really nothing to rave about like we usually do. We will prob all still go there once in a while but it’s not like Harvest of old.
Recommended to us by friends and came up from SYDNEY to dine. Great food, people. Service and conversation. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere!
Great food and location. Fresh and filing delights on the menu.
Really lovely fresh ingredients beautifully composed. Gorgeous setting, friendly relaxed ambience.
Great food, well presented. Sashimi exceptional, wine list a bit limited.
The quality is good and they use some nice local bush ingredients. However, the dinner menu is very limited, not well balanced and somewhat pretentious. It’s very expensive for what you get and nothing special in the technique. Breakfast is ok but don’t go in hungry. Also, regrettably one of the kitchen team was tasting something and proceeded to put the same unwashed spoon back in whatever it was to serve up in the plate, not great to see as you exit the venue. You can do better in the area.
A very good meal. My usual beef too expensive. In a regional location using local produce? Same goes for wine.
Great spot to enjoy a breakfast etc.
My expectations were high and they were rewarded with a fabulous dinner. It was adventurous but blended to a delicious combination of flavours. Loved the interesting use of native ingredients.
The wine list was equally exciting with great recommendations from knowledgable staff.
Amazing, beautiful experience.
We tried the Wednesday evening tasting and loved the experience
My wife and I have been dining at Harvest almost since it opened. We are Gold Coast based and always look forward to the scenic drive down to Newrybar especially knowing what awaits us. My second visit in just under a month, taking a visitor from Singapore on my previous visit, who had also heard about Harvest in Singapore.
Never disappointed, always taken care of by attentive and knowledgeable staff, who are so fortunate to have such a fabulous team of chefs behind them. Can't wait to return.
Great food, first rate service, rustic setting, good vibe great all round
Destination.will be back for sure
The ambience and service here was excellent. I ordered the donut breakfast and it was amazing! Unfortunately my friends toast was very burnt which ruined her breakfast for her. But we would both definitely go back. The chai was really delicious too!
Just a lovely relaxing breakfast with great ambiance and good food.
Exquisite menu with local produce. Loved the tasting menu - had dishes I would never have ordered myself but they tasted amazing! The vibe was homely yet posh. Loved the open kitchen, but unlike other restaurants with open kitchens, it was calm and really added to the homely feel. The staff were amazing - they knew their food and wine, and even treated us for our wedding anniversary. We even had a chef serve one of the dishes which was amazing - so nice to hear from them what they made.
An enjoyable lunch, but a couple of negatives. Having ordered 2 glasses of the same wine, one glass was poured from a near empty bottle and the second from a fresh bottle. Both glasses should have been served from a fresh bottle and the near empty bottle reserved for tasting. Also, when paying by gift voucher, the balance was not immediately offered and we had to ask for the balance in order spend the remaining credit in the deli/bakery. We enjoyed the food, but consider it a bit overpriced.
Could not fault a thing, service, food and ambience were great! Love that you forage and use local produce including wine. Will definitely return when next in Byron area.
The relaxed, cosy atmosphere at Harvest provided a welcome break from the miserable weather. Excellent food as usual with interesting menu choices. I was slightly disappointed in one of the desserts (bunya nut/caramel mousse). Service was friendly but not as efficient as usual...we each ordered a pre-lunch drink and one was served 10 minutes after the other one. This restaurant prides itself on the high quality of its food and this quality is reflected in the price, at close to $250 for 2.
We love this restaurant. However, since extending the verandah seating something has been lost from the ambience, sadly, as the canopy of trees previously seen close to the verandah are now gone, and it is just windows missing the lovely green foliage and looking out to the road/driveway, except for just one tree still remaining. It is a little ordinary now.
Also, there needs to be a break of about 10 minutes between entree and main, not one on top of the other.
Beautiful room , beautiful food , beautiful wine - tempered by 1. Received hot entree before pre lunch drinks landed - WTF? 2. If restaurant must hold our wine bottle away from table they must monitor closely - had to wait with empty glasses until we waved to capture waiting staff's attention 3. ordinary coffee
We were somewhat disappointed, maybe we went with higher expectation than we should have, despite having heard about Harvest on S.Media.
We had dined at many High End restaurants, and are also well aware of standards in both food and service.
We felt whilst the food was nice it was disappointing, i.e. the 'cultured butter' was not cultured.
Disappointed with the staff experience.
Beautiful food. Some puzzling prices. Mackarel for two $80? It was ok but as a share dish a bit expensive.
To deserve a chef hat i think service needs to improve. Wine glasses not topped up, dishes not explained adequately.
Lighting is beautiful but a little low to read menus at night.
The hero is the fresh fresh food.
We came with high hopes of a special meal and were not disappointed - a world class dining experience!
Outstanding. Food exceptional!!
We had a few false starts to eat in the restaurant. If you don’t book you can’t sit in the nice covered Veranda area. Finally we booked and could make it and it was Lovely. Great food and service.
Definitely make the effort to book so you get a good seat with unrushed friendly service. And unlike the Farm they do vegemite but as a parfait with whipped butter. Very nice.
Harvest was a very special lunch experience for my husband and I! We enjoyed an entree of the Ballina prawns and the fish of the day. Both dishes were excellent! The service was friendly, cheerful, professional and expert re the local area of beautiful Newrybar and Byron Bay and the ingredients, dishes and drinks list too. Congratulations to all at Harvest-definitely an all time fave for me thanks!
A memorable and delicious experience. The best food we have encountered in the region - and cheaper than some local places of a lesser standard. The service, ambiance and quality of the food could not be faulted. Thank you for a great lunch.
The food was excellent; the service was amazing; loved the outdoor setting.
Delicious food using the Paddock to Plate concept.
We dined at Harvest to celebrate our recent wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We were greeted with a complimentary, celebratory drink on arrival and the staff were extremely attentive throughout the evening. The food was delicious and they happily accommodated our dietary requirements. The ambience was relaxed and cosy.
