We are co-located with Calabria Family Wines at the top of Magnolia Rd just outside of the township of Tanunda and our elevated aspect provides fantastic views across the valley floor. Being set amongst the vines in the heart of the region and with wide open lawn areas we provide a wonderful opportunity to escape, relax and unwind.
Harvest Kitchen is open throughout the day serving lunch until late 7 days a week and dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings.
We ate at Harvest Kitchen a few months ago and it was wonderful, however cannot say that this time. We had the degustation for 3 people, the dishes were delivered with no explaination at all, it did feel that we really just had mostly what I would class as 'sides' With only one substantial protein dish which was the pork empanadas (which were really nice). 3 of the dishes were also cold by the time we got them. Am really disappointed as it was a very special day out for us and our previous visit was very good, wont be coming back for a 3rd though unfortunately, too expensive to take the risk when there are so many other options in the region.
We took the feed me like a Barossan option (2 people). It was good value but the flow of dishes was a bit underwhelming. Dishes came one at a time, and it often felt like there should've been a couple of things on the table at one time. For example, we were left sitting with just Broccolini for about 20 minutes. Maybe this option works better for more people, not sure if the flow would differ for that.
Always an amazing eating experience with amazing flavours in every dish. A great place to spend a few hours over a delicious meal, with friends and a great view. The desserts are to die for! Such a lovely dining experience.
We found the food was alright but nothing special and definitely too pricy for what it was. Portions were too small as well for the price. We found it overrated and the dishes are pretty Standard if u compare it to Sydney cafes.
Wow.. Flavour bombs galore..!
Our lunch at Harvest Kitchen was fantastic, we enjoyed quite a few dishes between 5 people and were not disappointed by any. Sure we had favourites, but nothing to complain about. A wonderful time.
Food comes out of kitchen when chef says dishes are ready but when ordering multiple dishes they tend to come out one at a time (and sometimes too long to get next dish especially when restaurant is busy) which is the only real problem for me as a diner at this restaurant. When I order multiple dishes I an thinking how they will go together as a group ie tasted together. If dishes come out with larger time between each then you either have to eat each dish individually or wait until all arrive risking the dishes getting cold. It really is something the restaurant should look at in my opinion to improve the experience for diners
Our dining experience was wonderful.
The food just delicious!
Would have loved a meet a greet with the Chef/s to give our complements.
The waitress we had was fantastic.
Wonderful food and location however, unfortunately we were a corner table in a bit of a dead zone and didn’t seem to have a dedicated waiter. That meant that our service was terrible.
We had a bit of a wait for service as our waitress was busy and forgot our table a couple times, however she did apologise to us and was lovely. She also put a rush on our food because of the delay so all was great in the end! I would still go back. Great food.
Amazing service. They were very accommodating to our large group. Thank you
Much hyped up particularly the barossan. We chose that.
We seemed to have struck a vegetarian route with one exception. A pity as there were some Interesting meat dishes on the menu.
We were deep in conversation so all but one of the courses arrived at once. By the time we noted there were no meat dishes we were delivered one.
We were rushed as if they wanted the table for a second sitting.
The service was overwhelming - we were asked 3 times in 6 minutes by 3 different wait staff if we were finished and if they could clear our table. We still had food on our plates and on our share plates and said no to the first 2 requests - we were enjoying the food and the experience we were busy talking and still had wine in our glasses I was so frustrated when the third waiter appeared and asked to clear the table that I said yes and just moved everything towards them even though we had not finished - as they were clearing they asked if we wanted desert - very rushed very frustrating way to spend a warm sunny Sunday afternoon....
We chose the $59 per head option and devoured all the delicious dishes. It was worth skipping breakfast and lunch for a lovely dinner.
Visited during winter season, fantastic service, beautiful food. Look forward to returning to share the experience with others in the warmer months.
This was our 2nd visit here and I think we enjoyed it even more this time. We did share plates and they were perfectly portioned and delicious. I would highly recommend as there is something for everyone on this menu.
We didn't really know what to expect from our lunch at Harvest Kitchen as we booked purely based on previous reviews. The food was absolutely delicious!! We opted for the Feed Me menu and it was all served very promptly and tasted fantastic.
The only downsides were the noise, as we found it extremely loud and uncomfortable at times. The service, although courteous was a bit hit and miss given throughout our 1.5 hour dining experience we were served by 4 different wait staff who all had very different standards of service.
Really excellent location, view and ambience. Good was exceptional in quality, quantity and diversity. Service very good.
For your barista, the coffee was great quality but was not hot enough so would recommend use of a thermometer to assist
Excellent. Loved the "eat like a barossian" option
Lovely location and great selection of food on the feed me menu. Waitress was lovely. Slightly lacked atmosphere for a dinner, but can imagine would be a lovely lunch on the deck in good weather.
Fantastic food! We got the 'suprise' menu for $49 and were very happy with the food. It was well matched, and we were able to pick a couple of our favourite dishes from the menu.
This was great! Staff were lovely and food was so delicious. We will come back one day soon for sure! The Fried chicken was a winner, probably the best we've ever had!
Disappointed with the eat like a barossan menu recommend you choose your own plates
Hi, thanks so much for your feedback and we are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your 'Feed Me Like a Barossan' experience. We get so much positive feedback regarding this menu option we would love to know how you feel this was not up to scratch (i.e not enough dishes, dishes not to your liking, poor combination of dishes) and how many of you dined. We always love to hear about ways we can improve. If you have time please contact us through the website. Cheers, Pete
Absolutely beautiful food and service. Lovely people to deal with was such a wonderful experience.
Food was really good, and reasonable price, but a bit rushed.
The food was just fantastic, fresh, interesting, and modern yet they still let you order fries with amazing garlic aioli.
The website suggested a relaxed ambience and a culture of “long lunching”. When I initially made a 12.30 booking i was told there was a 2 hour table limit, so no “long lunch” there. Changed the booking to 2.30 so there would be no limit but to be honest there was no incentive to linger. The interior was modern but clinical and cold with a high ambient noise. Tables were close together and cramped and paper napkins and table cloths didn’t lend to a sense of quality. We ordered literally everything on a limited menu. Food was pleasant without being exceptional and the staff were friendly.
After being recommended this place by two friends, I knew it was a must for our lunch while visiting the Barossa Valley! And with that, we were not disappointed! Every dish delighted us, and we would have eaten here again, had we been staying longer, to try some different dishes! Amazing!
The food was delicious!! We had the "eat like a Barossan" and it was amazing, so much food we couldn't fit it all in and were so impressed with everything, thank you xo
Lovely ambience, but need to improve on the service and choice of desserts.. The wine tasting side is doing a fantastic job..
Lovely food, friendly staff and overall a pleasant experience.
Comfortable and casual, great service. We chose the “Feed Me” option which was a nice way to sample several dishes from the menu. All was good, but the main was fried chicken strips which lacked any real excitement-a sauce or dip would have been appreciated, as well as more seasoning and crunch on the batter. Overall a nice evening, but left me slightly disappointed. Felt more like a Tuesday night dinner than a Saturday.
My daughter and I loved dining here. We tried dishes that we wouldn't normally order and we were surprised at how delicious they were. Fantastic service too. The venue is modern yet warm.
Friendly staff. Tasty sharing plates. Excellent wines. Great views.
The food was delicious and generous and I had a really good night as I had chosen Harvest Kitchen as the location for a very special celebration.
We enjoyed the food and location very much. But we typically avoid fixed menu options because my wife does not like some foods such as seafood that always seem to be included.
So we chose some other shared menu options, but they were served really strangely. First up was a side dish of broccolini. Nothing else, just broccolini. Very tasty, but not served to accompany anything. Then came a side dish of hot chips. Just by themselves. Then we received our share plate mains - some pork filled pastries (3 of them, to serve 2 of us - why not serve 4?), and then a slow cooked lamb dish. Each was very nice individually, but it would have been so much better if we could have eaten our mains and sides served together.
Go for $49 chefs choice, you will enjoy!!! Also get a seat on the balcony edge ro enjoy vineyard views.
Fantastic food and service. We did the feed me menu and it was an exceptional selection of delicious food and great value.
Made a booking for lunch on ANZAC day. The service was v slow - 40 mins to get our first dish. The food was ok, but average given the cost. The ambiance was poor as dust from construction works blew into the deck area and overall felt more like an up market cafeteria than nice tapas restaurant.
Sorry, can’t recommend.
This lunch was a highlight of our stay in the Barossa. The most amazing view, table setting accompanied by a fabulous meal enthusiastically presented to us by the Maitre D!!! We loved it all and thought it was well worth every penny we spent!
Lovely food, especially the popcorn ice cream is to die for.
