The menus at Harry’s Bar will reflect those of its sister restaurant Harry’s Dolce Vita in Knightsbridge, offering traditional and unfussy Italian dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a signature weekend brunch.
The new restaurant will feature a large terrace, with space for up to 48 guests to dine alfresco on James Street. Inside, luxurious banquettes and bright, colourful artwork will be a nod to mid-century Italy. The bar will serve a selection of exceptional Italian wines and a drinks list of classic cocktails, alongside a daily aperitivo menu.
Real Italian cooking - excellent base ingredients prepared simply and very well. The portions on the set lunch were just right -- filling and satisfying without being overwhelmingly large or disappointingly small. Very good value on the set meal which didn't feel assembly-line reduction of main menu but rather just right.
Slow service but everything else is very good!
We chose to sit outside which was always a risky choice. When rain started everybody rushed inside and tables quickly ran out. We were offered to have coffee at the bar (eating at the bar is currently not possible) but we were quickly given a table as soon as one came free. As apology for the wait we were kindly offered our dessert and coffees for free. A very kind and unexpected offer. The food is always very nice and it's a lovely location. Staff excellent. Go there!
The waitress on our table was very stuck up and rude, not what I expect from Harry’s Bar
The service was very slow. Ordered mains, but it wasn't entered on the system- so we were waiting for 45 minutes not realising that it hadn't been ordered as no one came to our table after we ordered mains. We were given 2 desserts on the house to try to make up for it.
Harry’s yet again does not disappoint! Amazing personal and warm service , exquisite and wonderfully presented food and a relaxing authentic Italian atmosphere. Simply the Best Italian restaurant in London. I’ll be back! Bravo!
Food and wine was exceptional
The service and fare at Harry’s Bar was excellent- I highly recommend- it was our last night in London- and by far our best meal !!!
A regular at Harry’s Bar in James Street, the restaurant offers brilliant food within a great ambiance. Usually a busy venue it’s often best to book ahead. The service is usually very efficient, although on this last visit was slightly lacking. It remains a firm favourite.
Food was very tasty. Simple yet delicious at the same time. I’d go back just for The dessert Harry’s Toadstool 😋😋
Waitress kept insisting on pouring our drinks from water and wine bottles although we mentioned several times we wanted to self serve our drinks
We felt like we were being “pushed” to drink and order more which had a negative impact on our dining experience and I friended is to not order more and leave sooner than expected
A big thank you to Francesco and the team at Harry’s for making our afternoon memorable. He has an inimitable style that places him and this restaurant a cut above the other Harry’s bar locations. Keep up the great work! It’s always a pleasure to attend Harry’s St James Street (also Antonio’s cocktails are a tempting treat)! Thanks again!
Great food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back 👌🏼
The service isn’t as great as usual, and not as good compared to Harry’s in Knightsbridge. The garlic and rosemary flat bread we had ordered was burnt, and I had to ask twice to get a surprise for my friends birthday
Table too small for three. Deserts too much on sweet side.
Food great took our order straightaway. However took a long time to come & were given wrong bill at the end.
Perfect service, lovely staff! Great and unique food selection on the menu and everything tasted amazing. Will definately visit again!
One of my favourite Italian restaurants in London, with lovely food and excellent service like before!
They brought the wrong bread basket after the starter
We were seated for more than an
Good food, service good too. Great atmosphere!
Last dinner in London for this trip. Other than our waiter being in training, our dinner was superb..
Amazing ambiance service and food. Will definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary lunch. Sonja & Louise
Cold food ,bad service ,no ventolin, too much crowded,
Tiny portions of pasta and truffles with no flavour. Harry’s “toadstool” desert had clearly just come out of the freezer. Loud cheesy and tinny music. 200 for two mains two pudding and a bottle of champagne. Waitress who could t hear / understand anything.
What a great place! What a great meal !!! My daughter and I loved our meal and the great service so much we came back three nights later and ate the exact same meals.
The pasta is divine, and the "Toadstool" dessert is perfect.
Venue is very nice, kind of Italian style and the bar is nice too. We had a pre-dinner drink at the bar and the service was excellent. Then we were taken to our table and ordered food. Service was very slow, food took long time arrive and we had to ask three times for tap water to get some... Noise level was rather high but that was expected. Food was ok, not amazing. Overall, not sure I will go back.
Nice food, nothing too special. The restaurant was very busy so very loud as the tables are too close together, you can hear other people’s conversations.
Great value, food was really authentic and very tasty, will definitely be back
Decent enough food but service was surly. We needed some explanation about gluten free options but were treated as though this was a major hassle for them. We ordered a bottle of wine, but had to chase them to bring it when the food arrived. It was plonked in a wine bucket for us to pour ourselves. When they automatically add 12.5% service to the bill it feels like the waiting staff don’t even need to to try. They don’t.
Probably wouldn’t come back here.
Totally perfect. Thank’s
Everything was perfect as usual! You can’t go wrong coming here.
I’ts my favorite place!
Been wanted to get the toadstool for a year and did not regret it. Not just pretty but taste perfect! Also very cute area in front of the store in day time and nice indoor area with great staff attention and services
Very bad and slow service unlike at Knightsbridge ...
4 of us had to wait very long time while 1 has already been served
We had a great experience at Harry's Bar. The food and the service were both amazing. The staff was very friendly and polite. Lovely place.
Food excellent- service slow
Noisy, very hot, mixed quality on food (starters excellent, mains so so), weird service (wrong wine brought out, not even right colour, mains delivered as starter plates taken away, then sat with empty mains plates on table for more than 20 minutes after finishing food, wine and water not poured all evening, no check in to find out if we wanted more of either - not what you expect for £250 for 2). Bit of a shame - was great when it first opened, now feels like it’s comfortable that it will always get foot traffic so isn’t bothering anymore. Spoke to reception at end, offered free drink if we go back, unlikely to do so.
