Perfect evening - warm, friendly and efficient staff, comfortable and and relaxing space, short list of well-priced wines, food outstanding - so much work had gone into many of the dishes, complex, rich flavours all very well balanced - inventive and surprising dishes, good portions (perhaps a little generous in places) but everything so light and fresh that even with 3 courses, extra pitta (divine) and a cheeky extra starter we didn't feel horribly stuffed. Rare for me to have a pudding but the list got me!

really tasty food, with some interesting twists - salt cod with saffron was delicious. Very friendly atmosphere and super helpful staff. Perfect venue for our family treat.

We had a wonderful evening at Harissa. It was very busy so we were offered free olives as the wait staff thought we had waited a while, butcher wait was worth it! Food was amazing! Very fresh and lots of it! Dessert was terrific with the service being exceptional. Would return and recommend for sure.

It’s so great to have a restaurant like Harissa on our doorstep. The food scene in heaton, sandyford and Ouseburn has exploded, With Harissa being a pioneer.

The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The wine and beer list is small, but with some mighty choices. The toast beer was fantastic.

We will be back time and time again without a doubt.

This is close to where we live but well worth travelling to. A small restaurant run by very dedicated people. The service is attentive and friendly. The food is the best of Mediterranean with plenty of meat and vegetarian options. Highly recommended.

What a great find in the heart of Sandyford! Absolutely amazing food, and all with a conscience too. Will be back to try Christmas menu when it begins....

Amazing food, lovely staff! I asked for one of our shared dishes without coriander and the lady serving us remembered and then ordered my own dish without as I’d not realised it had coriander in! Little things like that go along way! fab atmosphere too!

We have eaten at Harrisa a few times and it was as good as always, one of the best restaurants in the north east

Lovely food, fresh and tasty. Great service, but it was a little cold, I needed to keep my coat on.

Place was really quiet but I don't know how. Food was lovely and great value. Don't have to wait long for the meal and every one of the 5 fishes we choose was delicious. Staff also very friendly. All in all a really good experience. Would definitely visit again next time we are in Newcastle.

Interesting and very tasty food. We were only 2 but would be good to go with a few others to try a bigger selection of mezze. Not far to walk from Jesmond metro.

Lovely restaurant with warm and welcoming staff. Food was supremely delicious and getting five mezze plates meant we tasted so many different amazing flavours!

This was my 3rd time at Harissa and it seems to get better each time. While a core of the menu remains constant with dips and starters not varying much main dishes change with the seasons and local availability. Advice was to have 3 small dishes each and this proved to be excellent advice. Only problem was we had no room for dessert. Local drinks ,a beer and a cordial, were excellent. We were given some extra focaccia which the chef had been experimenting with that afternoon and it was fabulous.
