Hanoi Hannah New Quarter
Hanoi Hannah New Quarter may be the new kid on the block, but she definitely doesn't sit in the shadows of her older sisters. Perched on the corner of Lennox and Swan she flirts on the edges of Melbourne’s sporting precinct. The dynamic facade, decked out with large open windows and subtle ambient lighting draws you in. The more refined, fresh interior of New Quarter lets you know you’re in for a treat however she still carries the same swagger as her older siblings, pumping good time tunes and laid-back vibes.
New quarter steps it up yet another notch with her extensive menu riddled with both the new and old. The kitchen is killing it with new bangers like the Pho Cuon, Pork Hock and China Town Fried Rice. Whilst the bar dominates with a seriously sassy cocktail list. Don’t worry, we’re still nailing your old favourites too!
The best Vietnamese in Melbourne!!! Such a vibe and we all loved it!! Our waitress was such an amazing help!!
We absolutely adored every dish we ordered. We had probably 12 dishes to share amongst 7 of us, (including small, med, large and dessert dishes) and all were delicious.
The standouts included the Kingfish sashimi, coconut poached chicken salad, fried whole baby snapper and the coconut sago dessert. It was my mums birthday and they even accommodated a candle on her dessert.
I will definitely be returning! Can’t recommend it highly enough!
Amazing food, amazing chefs, amazing atmosphere. I'll see you again.
I would highly recommend HHNQ to friends -and have done! - having dined there a number of times already, but I’m not sure I could recommend the ‘Yum Cha... Kind Of’ dining experience we had yesterday.
Booking was from 12:00 - 14:00, so you might reasonably expect food to flow between 12:00 and, at the very earliest, 13:45, allowing diners to finish up by 14:00.
While food - and, I hasten to add, delicious food - came steadily from the kitchen from about 12:15, our table of two were not served any food from 12:50-13:20, at which time we were offered a menu to see if there was anything we’d like to order from there. Not the experience we were expecting. Given that it’s pay-per-plate, it’s not that we felt ripped off by the lack of food. Rather there simply wasn’t as much food to enjoy as we’d hoped. I do wish to reiterate, what we ate was delicious!
By way of market research for HHNQ, I would happily pay twice what we paid yesterday for food (approx. $25/head) for the full two-hour dining experience. And I will happily return to order a la carte from any / all of your stores. I just found the ‘Yum Cha... Kind Of’ experience to be a bit confused and clumsy, and not at all what I’ve come to expect whenever I’ve eaten at your restaurants.
We loved everything about Hanoi Hannah from Will and Ben, our
waiters, to all the delicious food.
Look forward to returning soon.
Food and service were incredible. The Hanoi Hannah team member who served us was amazing. Completely attentive to us and worked through different options that ensured all needs and savory interests were met. Definately recommend Hanoi Hannah!
Great staff very helpful. Cocktails & Wines applicable for food. Sparkling water free. We selected Feed Me menu all dishes were excellent. Easy walk from Richmond station. We will definitely be going back.
My booking was cancelled with only 30 minutes notice owing to the kitchen 'going down' for a reason that was not explained. This was extremely inconvenient both for me and my guest. No alternative booking or compensation was offered.
The bottomless brunch drinks option is good value - we definitely enjoyed that!
We got the 'feed me' banquet option where the staff pick plates for you. It was good, yummy food, and an easy choice for a group.
This place was recommended by a work friend and I was very happy with the food, service and great vibe with modern pleasing decor. Would definitely recommend this place and go back!
Food was AMAZING!! So fresh and yum.
The service was quick and our server was so lovely.
Good menu for both food and drink.
We went for Sunday Yum Cha. It was a relaxed session with flowing drinks. The food was terrific and we didn't have to wait between rounds. Great spot anytime for couples or groups of friends.
The food was great and the staff friendly and quick, but it was SO loud I felt I was screaming across the table. The noise was actually oppressive. Would UberEats the food just so I can enjoy it with a lower volume.
Could have been more food, very long wait times between plates of food and lots of repetition. Overall good concept but can be improved.
Initial service was good. However we waited almost two hours between entree and mains and the drinks ordered were never brought to the table. You could tell the wait staff were under the pump, but they were very rude and not at all helpful. Will never go there again, there are too many places with great service and food to bother with places like this. Very disappointed.
The pork hock is the go to dish. Big enough to feed three to four people. A bit on the pricey end for Vietnamese food but nothing at the level of Red Latern. Nice selection of cocktails.
Have been a HH fan for years .Was good to try out the newer venue.Took friends from Sydney who enjoyed very much.
My second time here with a new group of girlfriends who thoroughly enjoyed the banquet and kept telling me that I chose an amazing place with amazing food.
Excellent food & great service! I would come back again :)
Total rip off !
Were forced to have a set menu ( 6 adults , 4 children ) as we had booked a table for 10
We were totally unaware when we made the booking !!
So expensive !
A total rip off !
Will never recommend or return !!
The food here was phenomenal but it is the staff that really make Hanoi Hannah new quarter stand out!
The feed me menu was very average and the portions were tiny. Not enough to feed the boys on our table. I also felt like the feed me menu is pushed onto the guests to suit the restaurant/kitchen.
A great place to catch up for dinner with a group of friends or for a quiet date night. Food service was slow, so allow time to enjoy the night (particularly when in a large group). The salads are delicious and the calamari is crisped to perfection! The service staff were helpful and friendly.
I like Hanoi Hannah, the food is very good. Pretty average wine list which is the same for all modern restaurants these days. The main negative is that the music was so loud you couldn't hear someone 2 seats away. It already has a good ambiance because it is reasonably intimate but if you can't hear friends talk it is a bit silly and annoying after awhile.
Staff were excellent and gave great advice of food selection. Never disappoints!!
Great food. Noisy but pleasant vibe. Wait staff attentive, wine list and service as anticipated. Good night out. Thanks
We had Yum Cha. It was fantastic. The food and service is amazing. Everyone is super friendly!
So well taken care off. Specially set up my table so I had full scooter access and a disabled toilet that is easily accessible. Staff were friendly and eager to please. Great dining experience for me and my friends.
Thanks for such a special lunch and fantastic service!
Price of the yum cha dishes was way too over priced.
Came in for late lunch on Sunday. There was a bottomless brunch available which we both took up. Drinks package was great value.
The food was nice but nothing memorable. Wouldn’t really call it Vietnamese to be honest.
Would definitely come back for drinks with a group of friends.
What an exceptional Sunday brunch ! From the staff ( special thanks to man with red hair ) to the food to the ease of booking it was the best bottomless brunch I’ve had in Melbourne this year! My wife and I go out for a bottomless brunch once a fortnight. We will certainly be back very very soon thanks once again
We had the best time, the staff were super friendly and really attentive. The food is phenomenal, they have lots of options for vegos and pescitarians. The cocktails were also delish - watch out for that chili one!
We will be back for sure.
We went for the $55 option and we all enjoyed the food we had, great flavours and good size serves. Will be going back to try their other meals
Venue was modern, music was fun and staff were attentive, but not enough knowledge of the menu. The large dishes are expensive and would not suffice for sharing for more than two ppl. Not enough gluten free options for a Vietnamese fusion restaurant.
Sensational. Nothing else can describe our dining experience.
The food was delicious and the service was prompt.
You will not be disappointed.
Great experience. George our waiter was extremely professional, polite and just a fun guy to be served by. I would come back to this restaurant purely to be served by George as he made the experience
Amazing flavours - the fried snapper with tamarind was exceptional
We were extreamly satisfied with the restaurant
However we were not impressed with the girl who was at the takeaway counter on the other side at 7 pm on Monday the 20th
We entered from there she was quite annoyed to see us. Since we did not know we pointed to the door to the restaurant and she rudely said it’s not for you.
Extreamly dissapointed with her. May be people three from there often & it’s upto the management to do something
Amazing food and cocktails. Had to wait a while for our table to be ready but the service was great once we were seated. Good value for money. Great atmosphere but can be busy/noisy if you're wanting to have a more quiet/intimate conversation.
