Hamilton Park serves hearty, locally sourced American fare. Think hand-rolled pasta and charcuterie cured in-house. Our open kitchen and lively dining area that flow seamlessly into the lobby space of the beautiful Blake Hotel.
The food was excellent, Jazz at brunch was a nice touch and the decor looked like out of a magazine. We were a party of 9 and food came out all together and perfectly. Our server (Lacey) was great and attentive. Will definitely return (and soon I hope)!
Cocktails were good, unfortunately the wine we chose initially was not in stock but a suitable alternative was good.
Dinners are very good but seemed there was too much spice (white pepper?) in the celery root/leek soup.
We shared dessert (cranberry upside down cake w/pumpkin IC. It was good but a tad dry.
Our waiter was excellent and very pleasant and attentive.
Lovely new hotel restaurant near Yale campus, limited menus but inventive combination of mostly local, seasonal ingredients, nicely presented.
Wonderful as always. Very attentive kitchen staff and waitstaff.
This was a very, very good meal. Overall it felt like the food leaned just a *touch* too much on butter and heavy cream - which are delicious, of course - but this comment notwithstanding the food was excellent, the service was very good, and the wine menu was impressive. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic spot for brunch. Indulge in the Steak and Eggs; delicious!
The food was great but the service was very slow and not very organized.
Great food, great drinks. They did over cook my steak but it was still very good. I love the over all design, so chic and appealing. I feel like the Hamilton is great for any occasion and I can’t wait to go back. Also we had a great time and wonderful drinks at the bar , Rebecca was a great bartender.
The food was excellent and while we didn’t order drinks, there were some tempting choices. Our server was attentive and the kitchen was accommodating of dietary changes to dishes we ordered.
I will definitely go again but it was quite noisy and hard to have a conversation.
There Sunday Jazz Brunch is awesome. Great food! Great music, in a relaxing environment ~
Perfect place to have our holiday dinner. Food and staff were a pleasure.
Our party of 4 was very disappointed with our dining experience at Hamilton Park. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and were hoping for a warm, fun and delicious experience due to previous experiences we had there. The manager, Chrissy, that always made sure our service was great is no longer there and service was definitely lacking in her absence. Food was only fair at best. Kate, the sommelier/bar manager has also left and therefore the bar service was also pretty terrible. We asked for Tito’s and the bartender said “sure” but proceeded to give us a substitute without even telling us that they didn’t carry Tito’s. There is nothing that would ever make us want to revisit this lackluster establishment. There are several restaurants that are far better in the area so I recommended skipping this one and trying Olea or Roia. We absolutely should have gone elsewhere to celebrate the special occasion.
Great experience at every level -from hostess, to our server, to the jazz music, to the quality and presentation of the food—can’t wait to go back!
The food and the ambiance were fantastic at this new restaurant. I had the short ribs and my wife had the short rib tortellini. That short rib tortellini was amazing.. extremely memorable. Wine list was good and the desserts were creative and interesting. The downside of the experience was they seemed short staffed so our server, while great when she did come to our table, was not as attentive due to volume. Secondly, and most important, I felt that for the prices, the serving sizes were on the small side. Not that I expect or want huge portions, but from the wine to the food, i felt that I could have used 1 or 2 more bites or sips for a satisfied meal. And there could never be enough of that amazing tortellini! Get it... you won’t be disappointed.
Overall a good meal and enjoyable evening.
Great food and ambience!
Thanksgiving dinner. Outstanding staff and service. Wonderfully seasoned and well prepared and presented meal. Beautifully designed restaurant. We look forward to returning the next time we’re in New Haven.
Hamilton Park was wonderful, and far exceeded my expectations. We went there for the first time for Thanksgiving dinner. Will definitely return. The decor and ambiance is especially nice; the food was delicious!
Excellent service, well-trained courteous waitstaff. Every meal ordered by our party was excellent. Creative cocktails. Classy decor. We dined here on Thanksgiving and we will go back.
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving day meal here, very much.
Everything was very good. Service was great.
It was great!
Very nice calm friendly environment. Great location in new haven. Hip atmosphere
Very nice restaurant in the hotel. Service was very attentive. Food was average. Cocktails were vibrant and creative. I think I would enjoy a burger and beverage there. Skip the higher end entrees.
I’ve been to Hamilton park twice. The first time was shortly after their opening. It was memorable and we couldn’t wait to return. Our second visit was even better!
The drinks and food are delicious.
The decor is so cool to look at, leather straps holding up the lighting fixtures...mid century modern details everywhere.
The service is great, they really go above and beyond. It’s the perfect restaurant for a date night or just for any night!
Our third time here, an excellent, delicious experience each time!
Hamilton Park is in the relatively new Blake Hotel. The Michelin-rated chef turns out delicious, seasonal menu items to winning reviews. We are long-time New Haven foodies and our first Hamilton Park visit was a big success. We especially enjoyed the butternut squash soup, crab melt and the very flavorful mushroom toast. The garden salad was amazing as well, and I do not even like lettuce! The wine menu was diverse in price and type, and cocktails were top notch. The menu is relatively small in size, but I think most everyone, except the pickiest of eaters, would find menu options that fit with their dietary needs. Service was friendly and professional. We look forward to a return visit very soon!
Love the food, location & service. The only downside is the noise level. it's a little hard to have a conversation when there are a lot of people in the room.
We asked not to be seated by the kitchen and then we were taken right next to kitchen door! However, the issue was immediately resolved - with no attitude. Server was extremely nice and helpful about choices. Food was excellent.
This restaurant in The Blake Hotel is chic yet cozy and has a delicious menu. The Butternut Squash Soup and Crab Melt were delicious and the drinks menu is fantastic. Can’t wait to go back!
First time there and it was for restaurant week. WILL BE BACK. was phenom.
You were out of items, do not serve all types of whiskey, vodka. Waitress was not very attentive either.
Food was amazing, from salad to dessert, every dish was exceptional. Service was top notch, very accommodating to gluten free. Will definitely return and recommend to friends. Beautiful space!
Nice, modern ambiance restaurant in a trendy hotel downtown New Haven. Food choices were intriguing and lots to choose from. Started with the beans and pork belly appetizer that was very delicious and pleasing. We had the salmon and steak frites entrees that were both delicious and cooked to our liking. Service was very attentive with others assisting when needed. It was our first time here and we’ll definitely be back again. Btw, the bar in the lobby was also a great place to start off with a cocktail.
I thought the drinks were way overpriced, when ended up tarnishing the experience, but the overall meal was very very good. Plus, a manager-type kept whipping glasses away, but didn't think to ask if anyone wanted another. Loved the Fois Gras. Clearly someone knows how to use sauces and condiments to enhance the central focus of the dish. Space was lovely and well designed, tables were nice and far apart. The meal was unrushed and therefore very pleasant since we were a group trying to catch up after not seeing each other for awhile. They could probably use some sound deadening panels suspended from the ceiling or something, it was very difficult to hear across the table.
The food was prepared well. The menu choices were fairly ordinary. Service was absolutely terrible. Our waiter totally ignored us and everytime we needed something we had to try to flag someone down. We were very disappointed and will likely not go back
Had a wonderful dinner here with my out of town parents. This is a great place for a nice occasion- birthday, hosting friends or family from out of town, date night, etc. The food and the service were great, and we enjoyed an after dinner drink at the roof top bar which was lovely. It was a just a tad bit loud when the restaurant got busy but I will definitely be back!
Went to Hamilton Park on Saturday night for dinner. Smoked Bluefish dip and Corn dogs for starters, amazing. Mustard dipping sauce made with apple butter? Yes please! My wife had the Crab melt and I had the Ribeye. Both were very good, steak cooked to perfection. Ended the meal with the Pistachio Ice Cream cake, perfection. Thanks for making our dinner special.
Great dinner and drinks with old friends. Rooftop bar afterwards was also amazing. Hard to believe you’re in New Haven!
Great food, delicate balance of spices, excellent service and sophisticated ambiance. Appetizers were good, had foie gras and pork belly. Had the lamb and the duck entrees, both excellent. Deserts were disappointing, I do like them not overly sugary, but they did not taste fresh. Overall great addition to new haven restaurants.
With reservation I would. It’s not a warm or inviting space rather dark, somber. Table clothes are a much needed feature to soften the hard edges.
The wine selection and quality was quite good. the specialty drink a rum collins was superb.
Hangar steak nicely cut and done but the bernaise sauce was unremarkable. My foie gras was interesting yet paired with a burnt disc of a melba type toast that did not work. I was given two other substitutes neither of which were right. This starter was comped without my asking, a complement to the staff and management for noticing.
Menu itself has little imagination and overall for all the excitement surrounding Hamilton Park I was underwhelmed across the board.
