Thanksgiving Day dinner - Restaurant was closed and was not taking any customers. Manager (hotel) met us at the door stating that the restaurant had been closed for sometime. Apparently we never got the memo!
It was such a pleasure to dine outside even tho I thought we'd be on the roof deck. Food was good the service was amazing...thank you Maurizio...David...Adrianna...you made the evening perfect
Phenomenal as usual. Everything cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. Exceptional service
Lovely restaurant in a good location. Very nice decor. Friendly staff. The prices were quite high for New Haven and I was a bit surprised by that. We got smaller portions of entrees which were very tasty but 10 Gnochi did not satisfy. Wine was also very pricey. More like NYC prices. I might go again but with so many choices of great food in New Haven right in the same area, you’ll get more for your money elsewhere.
Absolutely amazing dining experience from the second we walk into the door. Every dish was delicious and the service was wonderful!
Everything we had was great. Menu is a slight bit thin but had no issue finding interesting things to try.
The Foie Gras appetizer was fantastic; both the salmon spread (very good but nothing unusual about it) and the “clam chowder” we very good - if there were a few more clams the clam chowder (which is more of a decomposed clam chowder) would have been fantastic (it was both novel and tasty).
All of the entrees were great (the Quail was both fantastic and a lot of food which is unusual with Quail). The fish was very good.
Service was slightly off but I am being picky (our server was busy). Felt like the cost was about 5% too high but again being picky.
Dessert was good but not great. The carrot cake was a bit too different from traditional - liked the icing change to a tangy yogurt but the cake was not my favorite.
Food was blaaa, not impressed at all.
The quality of the entrees and appetizers were very flavorful and well prepared. Nice size portions, however we went for CT Eats Restaurant week, so not sure if the portion size was altered for this promotion. Standard entree menu prices are comparable to other fine dining establishments in New Haven, and the option for smaller pasta portions is noted on the menu. The salmon mousse appetizer was great as was the buckwheat gemelli entree. With a flavorful brown butter sauce nicely paired with al dente shredded cabbage, the gemelli is definitely a repeater! Cocktail beverages on the other hand were way too expensive...$20 for a Hendricks Gin Martini!!!!...($17 and $3 for up) That is Manhattan and South Beach prices! Service was prompt, courteous and professional, .....friendly yet not rigid and stuffy. Manager David was attentive and checked on each table to ensure all patrons had everything to make their dining experience complete, Well-executed dining experience, and we will return.
Excellent food and friendly, attentive service.
OpenTable is not registering my selection of the highest noise level; our complaint was that it was hard to hear the waiters and each other.
We had a superb experience. It was the end of restaurant week - so the value (prix fix) was incomparable. Excellent food, presentation, service and ambiance. The maitre d - David - in particular was very profesional and attentive. We will be back for certain and will highly recommend the restaurant to our friends and colleagues.
Could'a been an off-night. Wine was fine. We elected the 3-course-for-$30 restaurant week special. Salad was great, entree so-so, dessert a disappointment. Waitstaff was attentive, but each course was a long time in coming, even at 8 PM. Entree luke-warm when it arrived, which suggests it sat for a bit before coming to the table. Apple tart dessert was unheated out of fridge, tough crust, unappetizing apple chunks mixed in sauce, lesser-grade ice cream. The GM visited our table at the end of our meal. We provided feedback for which he expressed appreciation. Ingredients used and manner of preparation we're disappointing overall. We'll be back for another try, but only because our friends who recommended we try Hamilton Park will join us the next time.
Simply great
A fantastic newer option in New Haven. Top notch all the way.
The food was creative and delicious. The service was seamless. Definitely one of the best restaurants in town. We just booked another date.
HP is a really great addition to the NH restaurant scene. We have been twice for dinner and both times it has been a great experience. The food is creative and very artfully prepared and also they exercise great attention to detail. This was true even for their V-day Prix Fixe event in which, we have found, many places fall short. Service was a little hectic on V-day of course but they have an army of runners so despite being very busy the food was served at an even pace and was pretty flawless. I am particularly fond of the "smoke on the water" cocktail - rye OF served in a smoking lantern - but all the drinks have been good and the wine pairings with V-Day dishes was also well thought out. If they have the basque stew/broth mussels it is beyond good, the beet salad is outstanding, and their Bordelaise sauce fillet was melt-in-your-mouth perfect. We are looking forward to trying the jazz brunch!
We enjoyed a nice Valentine's dinner with excellent options for the four course fixed price special. Staff was attentive but they are still training some younger members. Portion size was just right but might be considered small by someone with a very large appetite. Would definitely return.
Valentines menu was amazing...hard to choose between the pre fix choices...attention to detail is a strong suit of their service...it’s a keeper especially as they keep the menu fresh!
This is our 2nd dining experience. The atmosphere and drinks were great, food was blah - nothing special. We sent back one dish for being too salty. I had the burger and it was two patties with way too much cream/cheese “stuff” in it. Perhaps it’s off season for them.
Everything was great except that the stake was a little salty.
We went for a birthday dinner. All the food was delicious and the service was great. We will certainly be back!
We had an 8:00 reservation on a Saturday night - probably not the best time to try out a new restaurant. Beautiful facility, but very loud. There was a loud party of 10 near us; my wife and I could barely hear each other. We ordered the trout - and they were out! Our food was excellent, however, and our waiter very friendly. They felt guilty about the noise and "comped" us the wine.
I'll go back and give them another try.
First time for dinner. Food was really good. Awesome drinks. Waitress seemed new but did ok. Wish we had a better table, not sure why we were sat where we were. My reservation was way in advance and there were plenty of better tables. I'll try it again.
the noise level went up 500% when a large group came in on the other side of the last partition.
it was almost impossible to hear other members of our group of 6 for my 65th birthday.
First time here. Beautifully done, spacious foyer and restaurant. Meal, so-so for price. 3 of us, approx. $65 each with tip. 1 entrée each, 1 bottle of wine, 1 cocktail, 2 desserts, 1 cappuccino. Steak frites good. Trout tasty but way too many bones to deal with and bok choy salad only 2-3 pieces. Lg. rigatoni was tasty but not large. Banana filling on dessert was good but crust very hard and plain. Other restaurants in New Haven are better for value though we will always give a new place a 2nd try.
What a great experience. A bit of a splurge price-wise but well worth it. Drinks, food, service and ambiance were all superb. The hostess and manager greeted us and checked in on us during the meal. Our wait staff was attentive and appropriate with a clear and helpful knowledge of the menu and special cocktail choices which we enjoyed. Would definitely return for another special occasion.
Awesome spot for Sunday Jazz Brunch. In addition, they have a rooftop venue that is special, with a retractable roof for the right season. Looking forward to dinner or a private rooftop event there in the coming months.
It was perfect for my son’s 16 th bday!
He is a jazz player and the music was fantastic!!
Nice class act!!!
It was an incredible evening! The food was remarkable and the service was top notch! Thanks for making our date night a very special event.
The food was excellent, Jazz at brunch was a nice touch and the decor looked like out of a magazine. We were a party of 9 and food came out all together and perfectly. Our server (Lacey) was great and attentive. Will definitely return (and soon I hope)!
Cocktails were good, unfortunately the wine we chose initially was not in stock but a suitable alternative was good.
Dinners are very good but seemed there was too much spice (white pepper?) in the celery root/leek soup.
We shared dessert (cranberry upside down cake w/pumpkin IC. It was good but a tad dry.
Our waiter was excellent and very pleasant and attentive.
Lovely new hotel restaurant near Yale campus, limited menus but inventive combination of mostly local, seasonal ingredients, nicely presented.
Wonderful as always. Very attentive kitchen staff and waitstaff.
This was a very, very good meal. Overall it felt like the food leaned just a *touch* too much on butter and heavy cream - which are delicious, of course - but this comment notwithstanding the food was excellent, the service was very good, and the wine menu was impressive. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic spot for brunch. Indulge in the Steak and Eggs; delicious!
The food was great but the service was very slow and not very organized.
Great food, great drinks. They did over cook my steak but it was still very good. I love the over all design, so chic and appealing. I feel like the Hamilton is great for any occasion and I can’t wait to go back. Also we had a great time and wonderful drinks at the bar , Rebecca was a great bartender.
The food was excellent and while we didn’t order drinks, there were some tempting choices. Our server was attentive and the kitchen was accommodating of dietary changes to dishes we ordered.
I will definitely go again but it was quite noisy and hard to have a conversation.
There Sunday Jazz Brunch is awesome. Great food! Great music, in a relaxing environment ~
Perfect place to have our holiday dinner. Food and staff were a pleasure.
Our party of 4 was very disappointed with our dining experience at Hamilton Park. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and were hoping for a warm, fun and delicious experience due to previous experiences we had there. The manager, Chrissy, that always made sure our service was great is no longer there and service was definitely lacking in her absence. Food was only fair at best. Kate, the sommelier/bar manager has also left and therefore the bar service was also pretty terrible. We asked for Tito’s and the bartender said “sure” but proceeded to give us a substitute without even telling us that they didn’t carry Tito’s. There is nothing that would ever make us want to revisit this lackluster establishment. There are several restaurants that are far better in the area so I recommended skipping this one and trying Olea or Roia. We absolutely should have gone elsewhere to celebrate the special occasion.
