Gyu-Kaku - Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
I feel the place needs a little tlc. It would be nice if they had paper towels in bathroom. Those air dryers are gross. Dining experience is always a good time. A must do.
Awesome place to go on a date!! A ton of food. Awesome waiter "Kyle"
Was disappointing with the soda machine wasn’t working, and server was not very engaging or attentive.
The food was average, although since you can eat all you want, it gets an extra point. I did like that there was a good variety. The one thing I would mention is that this place needs a face lift in the worst way. You can't tout yourself as a high end restaurant when you have walls that need repair, show locations where things used to hang and just generally looks rundown. Service was average. Overall, I might return because the price is decent for the food we received.
Seating was terrible.....sat a party of 5 at a table fit for two! They had to bring food in shifts because we had no room for ANYTHING! We complained but no one seemed to care
Always a great experience
Service started out great! Then what seems to be our waiters friends or someone he new came in and it got busy. Our waiter barely checked on us and we were left waiting for service. Waitress accidentally spills my husband sake and as she is scrambling to clean it up she spills water all over him and knocks food on to table. My husband reaction was awesome. He said it’s just water, I knew he would worry about spots on his shoes. They cost more than our $116 meal. We got the mid level all you can eat and when I asked could we take our two s’mores home the waiter said no to go boxes allowed. I wanted to say well the end of our meal was ruined by the shower my husband received. We just paid our bill left tip and headed home. No one offered to replace the sake. We had many celebrations, date nights and family dinners here. So I was a little disappointed tonight.
Love dining in this place with family or a group of friends. Bbq always taste good and the varieties of the food in every meal options are great.
Kitchen was running behind and items were not delivered. Main waiter was great but rest of staff was not
Its a fun place to go and have a meal, servers are on it, the quality of the food is excellent and plenty of it/
Service was amazing, nice and friendly staff. If I could give our server 10 stars I would! Love this place
This Gyu-Kaku seems to be going down hill slowly.
It seemed like the servers were busy the whole time. We had to ask multiple servers to get all of our orders in because our waitress disappeared for 10-15 min at a time.
The staff themselves were extremely friendly though and no one gave us excuses like "let me go find your server" and instead just fulfiled our orders, so that's a big plus.
The sat walk-ins before my the hostess never came back a waiter had to seat us. THEN our waitress never checked on us or took forever to order.
Service was a little slow but it was a busy night! Our server was wonderful though
Good food, good experience. The service is not the best, but far from the worst. Come hungry, leave happy.
Always a pleasure
Getting too expensive
We had great service and food. We had a birthday plus a cake and the servers even brought the cake out and gave us extra plates and forks for us to serve the cake. We had a great time !
The restaurant ambiance was dated. Bathrooms from the entry door was worn. Food was good. But over $200 for 4 people and we cooked our own food ( which is what the restaurant is all about). Drinks were ok. When at the bar we had some better, stronger cocktails. When at the table drinks were weak (maybe different bartender. Not sure if we would go back.
Great food and grilling meat restaurant in the neighborhood. It's always a very pleasant dinner experience we have here and enjoyed the meats when grilled. Food are very flavorful and service is on point each time we come here.
been coming to Gyu for about 6 years now. Our server Ashley was the best my wife and I have ever encountered at Gyu.
The restaurant was not clean. The floors had food crumbs and napkins. The table was sticky and there was a piece of leftover food on the grill. The food was mostly good. My cream cheese wontons were frozen on the inside but other than that it was tasty. Service was slow and servers weren't attentive.
Kyle & Ryan are the best servers
We enjoyed foods and service all the time
Restaurant needs some TLC and service was bad.
My husband and I took his mom, sister and our son to celebrate they're birthdays. They had never been to you eatery, but my husband and I had. We were disappointed that some key items on your menu were unavailable, we wanted them to try them and Sake wasn't cold. Our waitress told us to keep it on ice for a few minuets because the bartender had none in the fridge that were chilled. Our waitress, was friendly, but we often had to call on other waitresses to help us, as she didn't visit our table often. Other than that, it was a good time
For service at the bar, Bartender was too busy talking with her personal friends and with her other regular customers that she doesn’t even acknowledge other customers. I couldn’t even get a Hi, I’ll be right with you or a smile. One of the waitresses who was working the bar top tables offered to take my ordered and clear a table for me. If it wasn’t for her I would probably have canceled my party’s reservation and went somewhere else.
Good Yakiniku experience... very similar to Japan taste. Don’t miss garlic fried rice as side!
The food was good. Impressed with the service by Ashley. She take her time explaining and addressed your needs in timely manner. Overall good experience at this his place.
Missed a salad and had to request it multiple times. Table was not set when we were seated got all the food and no tongs to cook with and tableware was dirty.
Had to give 3 stars as the meats were over marinated. Should be able to have the meats plain or just salt and peppered
Disappointed that you changed the portion size of the garlic noodles...it was one of my favorite dishes.🙁
Celebrating my daughter and son in laws 1st anniversary
I've been coming to Gyu Kaku for about 5 years now. In those five years I've had nothing but positive experiences. I remember coming to Gyu when it was 30$ all you can eat with unlimited champagne and sake(those were the days). This is my favorite place to dine. Thank you to Gyu Kaku and their staff for always providing exceptional customer service.
Always a nice place for lunch, with great happy hour specials
I frequently patron Gyu, this was my first experience in many years that the restaurant felt unkept and less concerned about the customer experience, the glasses and plates were dirty. The restaurant ran out of hot pots, spoons and sake shot glasses. The main door had a faulty closure, slamming after each patron entered. I was very disappointed this go around, not sure I would go back.
Birthday dinner. Food was great. Place needs some TLC. It looks run down.
I had reservations for 8pm, and was 6 minutes early. Guy at front said, “I’m going to seat you closer to 8pm.” We did not get seated until 8:25pm, even though we asked twice about the status. Our server forgot about our order/sides a couple of times, but he was nice. The cooked rice was raw and we asked for new rice. The new rice came and it was still not fully cooked. We ended up not eating the rice.
