Gyu-Kaku - Los Angeles, CA | Pico
Gyu-Kaku, meaning "Horn of the Bull" in Japanese provides the authentic Japanese Yakiniku (barbeque) dining experience where customers share premium cooked meats over a flaming charcoal grill while sipping on Japanese Sake, Shochu and frosty cold beers. Gyu-Kaku offers a wide range of meats including the bestseller Harami Skirt Steak in Miso marinade, Certified Angus Kalbi Short Rib in Tare Soy marinade. Other popular items include pork, lamb, duck & chicken, Shrimp Garlic & a variety of vegetables.
I like this place too much, but they need to do something about the service. Also the seating are not comfortable
Gyu-Kaku is the best Japanese barbecue places I’ve ever been too; my friends and I ate copious amounts of meat with there bargain meal: the all you can eat options. All though this price was not much to pay considering the amount of beef our table consumed; the quality of the beef was not compromised and the portion they gave it to us was not shortened although we ate a lot. While coming here I suggest not eating all day so that when you arrive you can eat all that your heart wants. I also like that the waiter often came up to us asking what if we wanted to order more; this gave me a sense of relief as I didn’t feel uncomfortable ordering more food. This place overall is a memorable place.
Everybody loves all day happy hour! Catching a late dinner
Canceled reservation after 6 minutes (no grace window). Server was obnoxious and gave us a time limit on the table.
:) Really yummy, lots of fun. Thanks.
Miso tasted like water, table next to us was a war zone after someone left. It stayed dirty the whole time we were there. The noodles were old and dry. The meat wasn’t fresh. They didn’t have half the stuff we ordered. It’s not the first time. This one is the worst. We usually have a good experience in other ones
Great date night with husband! Excellent service/great menu! Super cold beer! With good prices..We will definitely be back !
Sho is the best! The food was great but his attentive and prompt service really made the experience worth it.
I usually always come to gyu Kaku however they were out of a lot of stuff
No cheese wontons and I was given half the portion that is typically given for garlic noodles because “the other bowls were being used”
The tables next to us were provided the usual bowls and it wasn’t busy at the time. Not sure what’s going on with the management
Loved how knowledgeable the wait staff was and the fool was delicious.
great service, great food... will be coming again ... and you now want more words
We always love the food here and the service was excellent.
Boys night out. Some beer and food. Great place
We really enjoyed our experience at the original Gyu Kaku. Great service, delicious meal! You can’t go wrong.
My co-workers and I came here for lunch to celebrate my birthday. The lunch menu was really incredible value. There was so much food to share, and all really delicious.
what an incredible institution
Went during happy hour and it was perfect. Great value for happy hour menu. Food was yummy but service wasn't the best.
Love this place!
Always amazing food and service is always a1. Very personable and friendly! Will always recommend
Server is very good
Amazing food great staff!
We had a reservation and because we arrived 6 minutes late they gave up our table and we had to wait an extra 25 minutes for a table.
Love this place. Server, Sho, was fantastic- food is amazing, vibe is everything.
The service was great...we told our Server that we were on lunch and she took our orders right away. While eating our salads, she brings the food, we have never been serviced that quickly. When we go back, we hope she's there!
There are so many choices but thank goodness for the pre set menus! I think the preset menus are better than doing All You Can Eat. I always come hungry and leave extra stuffed! The servers are friendly and helpful. It’s a casual and fun environment to enjoy with friends. Gyu Kaku now has an app that allows you to earn loyalty rewards.
Excellent food. Wish the bathroom were nicer and cleaner but you can't beat the food for the price. The lunch special is a really great deal for $12.
Good value; excellent meal.
I don't want too many people to know about Gyu because I want to still be able to get a table!
Good food, extremely good service
it's a good place for handing with friend with Korean(Japanese) qqb and beer.
Food is amazing.
Service is quick.
Love this place
Great good, good variety of meats vs. vegetables and the prices are reasonable.
Great food and variety !
Server was especially attentive
Second Gyu Kaku we've tried. First was in NY Times Square and both excellent. Food and service consistent. Highly recommend reservations and go earlier for dinner to take advantage of their great happy hour specials. Also, use the app to rack up points for food or credit towards meal. Love this restaurant concept.
The service and the food are always great there.
Great service and food, a fun place to eat. My only complaint is that we were asked to keep our meal length to an hour and a half so that they could seat other parties. I know that's fair of them to ask, but I didn't want to have a time limit. Bathrooms are also really dirty and very close to some of the tables so hopefully you don't get seated there.
Took my niece for her birthday dinner and it was great! Service was amazing and my niece loved it!!
My FAVORITE restaurant, hands down. Thank you always for the best experience possible, from food to atmosphere it’s truly wonderful! :)
