Gum Bistro is a casual, fun and approachable restaurant located in West End. Serving simple, honest dishes cooked to showcase the fantastic produce available to us in Queensland.

Gum Bistro is located on land of the Jagera and Turrbal people. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians, and Elders past, present and future, of the lands on which we work and live, and further acknowledge, thank and pay respect to the Traditional Owners of the land in the multitude of Aboriginal countries across Australia from which so many of our products come from.

Fantastic service, food was Devine, great share menu however could easily have single meals. We had the sourdough - cook to perfection light fluffy but moist enough - paired with delicious butter; Congolese - so tasty. And great to have the bread alongside to soak up the juices. The cauliflower also cooked beautifully with a crispness on the outside but beautiful and tender to eat - the sauce on the cauliflower was Devine! The cod was tender and melt in the mouth the asparagus was so fresh… and again cooked to perfection which is never easy. The sauce on the cod and asparagus was glorious with the capers throughout giving it an edge. Finished with the best sticky fate pudding we’ve ever had (and we have had a lot over the years). Full of rich flavour but balanced brilliantly with the cardamom ice cream. Rose and gin were lovely… we will definitely be back !

Loved everything about Gum. Great atmosphere, delicious and exciting menu, friendly and attentive staff. Can't wait to go back.

Friendly staff. A very long wait for food. Drinks were ok, not great. We were seated outside. Although it first seemed like a good setting, the seats proved quite uncomfortable as we waited a long time for the food to arrive. The dessert ( sticky date was very good). High end prices not matched to all round food and drinks. Staff were quite stretched but friendly.

Menu is interesting but limited. Quite pricey. Good selection of wines but again quite pricey. Have been twice - once sat inside which is intimate but quite noisy. Second time sat outside which is informal but nice atmosphere.

Lovely dinner at Gum. The service was outstanding, and good range of food and wine options. The fresh sourdough, potato pave and autumn pot pie were the highlights. The booth tables down the side of the restaurant are quite close together so felt like we could hear our neighbours conversation. But other than that, a great night out would recommend!
