the pub has been through many transformations including a complete refurbishment in 2011.
Today, it is a multi-faceted venue that can cater for many different experiences, anything from casual drinks to family dinners or birthday parties in one of the function rooms.
Grosvenor Hotel prides itself on its commitment to sourcing, ageing and preparing premium cuts of grass fed Victorian beef, which are available in the Bistro, the drive-thru burger bar (STKBB) and to take home from the Grosvenor Grocery & Bottle Shop.
Great food. nice atmosphere.
If you are waiting at the bar for happy hour Drinks and it’s 7.02 then it should be honoured.
We have been to Grosvenor Hotel many times before and we were the people to recommend the rest of our party to go here! What a let down though!
We waited over an hour on our food (all of which were medium or medium-rare steaks) and when we got our food, the chips were over cooked like they’ve been sitting on the hot plate too long! Our steaks were cremated! We were so embarrassed for recommending this place and when we approached staff about waiting so long they rhymed off a script about how long steaks take to cook etc. when really she had no idea what our actual order was! Will never be back. Extremely disappointed. All 7 of us didn’t have a complaint
As alway great food and service .. Cesar salad was bloody delicious
Pretty good, a little too noisy for the oldies (for an impromptu dinner) but we were moved easily. Great service, 5/5 for service.
Third time ive been now... the food and menu was sensational and service was a 4 star she misunderstood the order but overall the place is best bistro pub in Melbourne. Wish we had the heads up about the lamb for two needing an hour prep to order. Just an idea put it on the online menu - 1 hour prep time pre order. Overall awesome ambience, good beers and mostly great food!
Great family friendly pub! We had the best waitress - nothing was too difficult and she was so accommodating with our rowdy little ones.
The place is way too noisy - music far too loud, spoiling the experience.
Our whole group agreed that it would be a great local, if not for the excessive noise.
Great place to go catch up with friends. The steak was amazing, melt in your mouth!
Would definitely go there again, a little expensive but worth it for a great steak.
Fantastic food and service.
Looking forward to coming back.
Grosvenor’s steak and cocktail nights are one of the best in the area. Always an enjoyable meal, staff and ambience. Changed menu with more variety is a recent plus. We’ll be back.
Fantastic location , food and venue. Would highly recommend to everyone !!!
We visited the Grosvenor for my nephews bday lunch. All 5 of us enjoyed our meals immensely. The eye fillet steak was cooked to perfection and well seasoned, with hot chips and a fresh salad. The safe we all friendly as well. Will definitely be back!
The food is consistently great but the service has been getting worse over the last few months. It takes forever to get a menu and then the service is very slow. We never got asked if we wanted more drinks and our food took about 40 minutes to come. The staff seemed to fuss over certain tables and then completely forget about other tables.
Excellent wood-fired pizza, pleasant decor and friendly service!
Best food we have had in a while! The shared eye fillet was exceptional! Can’t wait to go back and have it agin!
Amazing food never disappoints! Great atmosphere and staff love this place.
Great food and service! Everyone was very happy with the evening.
We really enjoyed the night with the service and the food very good
The food at this restaurant was very tasty and nice size servings. Where we were seated in the bistro the noise was very loud and echoey. Price wise the meals were absolutely well worth it. My only real criticism was the mark up on the wine. Thought I was back in Bali.
Great food, fabulous pizzas but many other tasty options e.g. aged stake. Yummy specials most days!
Great for large groups and celebrations. Good service.
Great big group dinning.
We had fantastic service. There was an error in the beers we had chosen (there should be better beers on tap), we spoke to the gentleman serving us and he fixed it straight away, replaced the beers we were given with the correct ones we ordered.
Good food but the beer selection is woeful these days. Not sure I’d be back based solely on this. No good German beers is a crying shame.
Main thing is it’s consistently delicious food, service equally professional and the vibe is relaxed
After having a good experience back in August with our family we decided to ask our good friends to come and have dinner with us. We had a 7.30 booking and arrived on time. We found the service extremely slow and the wine list was now very expensive. No cheap wines. Average of $70 for a reasonable bottle. With 4 couples that added a lot to the bill. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be rushing back. I know our friends will not be going back.
The food was fantastic. The service was decent. The only 2 things I could pick on were; there was a group of 10 or so that was sat in the same area with the acoustics of the outside area made it impossible to have a business discussion and $14 extra for chicken added to a caeser salad is absolutely ridiculous.
Overall while expensive you get great food and decent service.
Good standard pub food and service.
Would recommedn and return.
This place has gone down hill in the last 5 months. We had lunch yesterday and it is no where near as good as it was. Toilets were also disgusting, not cleaned regularly. The host was a large man who needed a shower.
Good food and good service. Was here for dinner but it can get way too loud with the live music. We were seated in the courtyard looking area when we should of been in the dining room.
Brilliant family dinner
Service was very good, the young girl that waited on our table of 6 was excellent. Steak was disappointing in regard to quality and price, did not live up to some of the online reviews. We had guests from the USA and all they wanted was to experience some good Aussie beef, we should have gone to Rockpool or Station Hotel. Better quality and value.
We sent back 2 out of 4 adult meals. The seafood linguini was small, tasteless, had 2 mussels and cost $34
nice and easy weekday dinner
Great 70th birthday celebration. A range of ages in our group. We booked our table for 6.30 but they were happy for us to sit outside and enjoy some drinks before heading to our table:
Big selection of drinks, meals and spaces.
Everyone had a great time and the waitress tolerated even the silliest of questions from some serious non foodies at our table
They also had a trivia night running somewhere else in the bar
Good layout for variety and a good general atmosphere
Overall our experience was good, however my husband & daughter shared the eye fillet steak, which was cold when it arrived.
The steak was the most expensive meal, ordered by our party of 5.
It should have been served on a warm plate, rather than a cold plate.
Great lunch, great service .
WE enjoyed the steaks which were cooked to perfection and the sauces were awesome. Also loved the onion rings:)
This has quickly become our favourite steak restaurant, the quality of the steaks, the excellent attentive service and great value for money on the Thursday night steak special is amazing.
Service was good - food not up to expectations.
We came for the steak - was expensive but not exceptional.
Burgers - OK, pass.
Parma - good but sauce bland.
Asked for quiet spot - but 6 kids running up and down shouting heads off - no parents or staff to deal with it. (parents had sent them away from their table to bother us. - THANKS FOR THAT.)
Had a great steak meal here. Excellent value on a Thursday night, and great ambiance. Love the Grosvenor!
