Good service good atmosphere
Undoubtedly the BEST dining experience and personalised service we have EVER had in Melbourne.
This restaurant treats you like you are special with the food and service being outstanding.
Lovely evening in a beautiful room. Service was really exceptional, all very friendly & helpful! Food was delicious, especially the venison.
The menu is in small print relative to the lighting,
didn't distinguish between entree and mains and the position of the cheese course not clear.
Beautiful food beautifully presented and the service was just right.
Every dish was spectacular. The attention to detail from the moment we arrived made us feel very special. I can't recommend it highly enough.
An absolutely fabulous experience. Couldn’t fault the food or service. I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to share a lovely meal for a special occasion.
Unfortunately I wasn’t ‘wowed’. Booked for 3 for a business meeting lunch, and spent over $1500 upstairs and then another $200 downstairs (after we had to leave so they that could clean up for dinner service).
The food was nice but not memorable. The crab linguine and the cheese selection were probably the standouts. Wagyu was a little tough. The premium wine selection at $190 per person, wasn’t remarkable.
Staff were fine but not particularly engaging. Overall, nice, but not exceptional.
Annoyed at the hidden costs. No-where throughout the online booking did it reveal there would be a 15% surcharge. There were additional bits & pieces served for free, but slugged $30 per glass for pre-dinner bubbly, but not advised it was at a cost when it was offered. Total hidden costs = $140.
A sensational lunch! Worth every cent.
The experience could be improved by the waiters speaking more slowly when describing menu items and smiling occasionally. Also, they should not remove unfinished food without asking first. The food quality was quite good, however the tiramisu was not up to the usual standard we've enjoyed when dining at the Grill downstairs. Overall not the best experience and we would not choose Florentino Upstairs again.
The food was absolutely divine and the matching wines delicious. The sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our evening!
An institution of Melb, fabulous food and service
Fantastic service, food and ambiance, but very pricey.
Florentino's lived up to surpassed expectations. Service was discrete and very professional.
Exceptional service and food
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening, celebrating my partners birthday. Very attentive and thoughtful staff, great to have a spacious table with space around it. We weren’t rushed, and stayed longer to enjoy each other’s conversation over a liquor. Highly recommend.
Service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Even the several amuse bouche were memorable. While the dinner was expensive, it made for a special evening.
Excellent service that makes you feel special from the moment you enter.
No rush to get out for next service which happens at a lot of venues these days.
Amazing food and wine to match.
Outstanding cuisine and unparalleled service
We came for the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival Restaurant Express lunch (again). As usual it didn't disappoint, with amazing service, food and surroundings. Can't wait to hopefully be able to come again next year!
A really beautiful and unique dining experience perfect for a special occcasion. So well looked after.
Dined Friday night and had a wonderful evening. Shantall waited our table and was exceptional ensuring our experience was all we hoped it would be. The food was incredible with a wide selection and beautifully presented. The wine list is extensive and the selections made on our behalf by Pablo were perfect. Florentino's is exquisite fine dining paralell With the best. Thank you to all upstairs at 80 Bourke Street, we will be back.
Excellent food, get value with Express Restaurant deal of $40 for two coursed
I have many of my friend going this week to Florentino just because we go every year and they must experience the place and everyone loved it. The service, staff and the menu is the standard that most restaurants strive for. And a special mention to Carlo Grossi in making my partner and I feel welcome.
The host was fantastic and so welcoming. Also the food was invented and very tasty, I would be happy to return.
excellent food and exceptional service. The staff were great with suggestions for wine, friendly without being intrusive. a special meal.
Where do I even begin, customer service = outstanding. Food = outstanding. Everything = outstanding. Blown away & will return! Grossi upstairs, you have blown my mind.
I always look forward to dining at Grossi Florentino - consistently the best Italian in Melbourne, meaning it’s my pick as the best in the country. Marvellous food & wine is matched only by the old school service. Top notch in every respect!
everything was amazing but i think the food was underwhelming. the pasta was not 100% and the 5 of us agreed with this. the desert was not quite right either from the last time we were there a few years back. everything was so good but we all felt a little disappointed in the wow factor of the food last night. it was my mums 70th and we still hae the best night and the service was second to none. thanks
The minute you walk in you’re made to feel so welcome! The service is second to none and there is no other word more fitting than “perfect” for the food served and enjoyed! Being Coeliac I felt so looked after and nothing was a problem!! Just brilliant!
We were very disappointed. We have been to Grossi Florentino several times, however this time we felt the food was not up to the usual standard. Apart from the Quail as entree, there was no wow factor, which is expected when you are paying $150 for 3 courses. The service was excellent, however when my husband complained about the ravioli (he felt it was not cooked and little taste of barramundi) the response was inconsequential.
Excellent service a must try
One word - wonderful
Excellent food and outstanding service
Quite possibly the best restaurant in Melbourne.
First time dining at Florentino. Best dining experience I have ever had. Everything was perfect. Look forward to next time.
Celebrating our Wedding Anniversary, we had the Gran Tour - 6 course degustation. An exceptional way to experience Florentino's menu. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended.
Excellent experience and very well received by my guests - faultless. The food was stunning and loved by all at my table.
