Quite possibly the best restaurant in Melbourne.
First time dining at Florentino. Best dining experience I have ever had. Everything was perfect. Look forward to next time.
Celebrating our Wedding Anniversary, we had the Gran Tour - 6 course degustation. An exceptional way to experience Florentino's menu. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended.
Excellent experience and very well received by my guests - faultless. The food was stunning and loved by all at my table.
Little needs to be said about its iconic ambience, food or prices.
Service was immaculate. Food was brilliantly prepared and presented, and well matched with very good wines.
My wife found the suckling pig a bit fatty but octopus, rabbit, goat and risotto dishes were very much appreciated.
Incredible food & impeccable service made for such a special night.
I was a bit disappointed with the quality and taste balance of the food for a two hat restaurant. Service and ambiance wee great.
All dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Wine we selected was also lovely. A glass of champagne was offered upon arrival and whilst it was very enjoyable, we had about the cost involved and as a result I was quite surprised to find that it was $40 per glass when I received the bill. My suggestion would be that the wine list be provided prior to ordering any drinks so that customers are fully aware of costs involved.
It's been quite some time since we have been to this restaurant but as a "special occasion" venue it's hard to beat.
Service and food are exceptional.
The only issue is that if you decide to go upstairs at Grossi Florentino's then also understand that the price is the price and if you have to ask then perhaps it's not for you.....
But for a 25th wedding celebration (and a birthday) with some of the wedding party is was a fantastic place to go.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Grossi Florentino for a wonderfuldinner last night.
We had only one hour for dinner, as we had a show to get to that night, and yet the staff were incredibly understanding and helped us get through all three courses (plus many special additions) in the short timeframe! They even helped hail a cab for us at the end of the dinner to ensure we arrived at the show in time.
Exceptional service, exceptional food.
Not as good as last time. Food wasn’t fabulous, but fine. Ok. When ordering something like a Morton bay bug dish, it would be reasonable to expect more than a few scraps of bugs in a mainly pasta dish. Especially given the $150 minimum per head. Probably a while before we revisit. Service great at times, yet average at other times. Shame when good restaurants get complacent and cut corners.
This is a fine dining experience so be prepared for this environment. Food not up to standard of other fine dining restaurants in Melbourne. Too many service staff which made us feel like we were being rushed. Great wine list!
17Jan2019 lunhc -- excellent !!! Want to go back now! Superb prawns, oysters, and barramundi
Classic lunch in a refined establishment that screams class
Exceptional service, wonderful food and wine. Ambiance is brilliant and a true Melbourne dining experience.
Over 20 years since we were there We had great expectations we weren't disappointed We thought it was wonderful
We had the degustation menu ( a little of everything) & it was amazing !
So good that we have booked again for January in the new year !
A must visit for a special occasion or just because you deserve to be spoilt ! 😋
I took my staff for our Christmas dinner and we were all very impressed with the exquisite, divine food we had plus excellent service. This is top-end dinning, highly recommended!
Not sure it was worth the money. The service was hit and miss, and the meal options limited.
Great dinner for our special occasion, the Gran Tour was really worth it. The staff made you feel welcome and they really nailed the small attention to detail items to make you feel special. All the staff had great knowledge which made the night super enjoyable! Thank you
Thanks-you for a very delightful night as we were celebrating our traditional first Saturday in December Christmas:a traditionof ours for over 30 years. The staff could not do enough for us, were attentative and timed it perfectly to give us the desert menu after we opened our presents. Appreciated the personal touches of placing our bags off the floor along with our presents, accomodating one of our party arriving late. Congratulations to your staff for making it a very special night
Great service & food!
Grossi Florentino is an amazing restaurant with an amazing menu
It caters for vegetarians extremely well
We will definitely be going back
Food was nice and service was great and very attentive, particularly Simone. Fine dining experience.
Attention to service and the food was Devine
The Amuse bus was nice to receive ( the Tuna was excellent and the Mussel so so)
The bread was rustic but great.
Chicken breast, didn't eat the leg, was extremely dry and over cooked.Pork was delicious.
Cheese selection and all beverage service was very well described. We share the feedback at the time about the Chicken which was meet with the appropriate apology and I think the cheese was served complimentary.
Service and beverage personal were fantastic.
I thought the food was nice but not worth $300. DOC in Carton is far more superior. I was fooled by a name and supposed high end food.wouldnt recommend it. Don't waste your money.
Fabulous service great food we were not rushed to finish our meals
$48 for water, but no explanation of this beforehand.
$50 for an 'extra course', but no body explained what was part of the 'Grand Tour' and what wasn't.
Leaves a bad taste in your mouth about the overall experience.
Vue De Monde felt like much better value.
We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with you. I have always wanted to dine in your restaurant.
A lovely evening with fantastic meals. Staff are excellent.
Thank you for a great evening.
Thank you grossi Florentino for a memorable B-Day experience for my daughter
Hans booked this for myself, Matt, the second time upstairs & 6th time at th restaurant. We absolutely enjoyed th night as did our son Hans and a good mate of his. We’d like to thank you for a stunning night celebrating my wife’s birthday, it set th weekend off perfectly.
Thank you so much
To be honest a little disappointed - the food was lovely and service was what you would expect but having had food cooked by Guy Grossi on a previous occasion and being absolutely wowed this was underwhelming.
We (a table of four) celebrated my wife's birthday recently with a lunch at Grossi Florentino. The staff were most courteous and helpful; the food was excellent, the service was also excellent and the lunch menu (two courses) was great value. Overall, a most memorable occasion at a truly excellent restaurant. We will certainly be returning for lunch in the future and consider Grossi Florentino as out preferred restaurant in the Melbourne CBD.
As usual I was somewhat underdressed (well I’m on a trip), the good thing about restaurants in Australia is one doesn’t get the aloof cold disapproval from doing the same thing in an European counterpart. Immediately immersed in an ambience that reminded one of Tuscany and Florence with the tasteful lighting and artistic decorations. The staff were attentive and courteous. Decided to try the tasting menu. Impressive amuse-bouche - the presentation was cute and the chia seeds were a nice touch; the cold dishes were slightly heavy in seasoning but had a kick in it - the oysters were fresh too; the tartare was great with the dollop of yogurt on the side - pity the plate art was lost in the dimmed lights; next the scallop in potato gravy with caviar atop - quite savoury; staff informed me that the sour dough in the bread and all the pasta were made in-house; the shrimp tagliatelle was quite unique - exactly how pasta should be, al dente and springy with a personal touch; the duck ravioli that followed had an interesting seasoning that added a zest to the taste; the midland farm chicken was slightly tough but that’s expected for chickens which weren’t bred cooped up - I also liked the side of legumes; then the rump steak - the best of the main dishes as it was succulent yet still had the texture and the flavour of the meat very well preserved - then a sorbet to cleanse the palate. Then came the crowning chocolate soufflé with chocolate sauce and ice cream with grain of paradise; this was a soul-lifting experience with the soufflé consistency being just right so that you could add the sauce and gelato onto it and then taste the resultant heavenly mixture. I must say this was a meal well enjoyed and the price of $211.20 (including public holiday surcharge) was really well worth it.
Looked forward to this for a while and did not disappoint on any level - food service wine decor - loved it
Beautifully presented food
Exceptional service from staff
Value for money
The service, food and wine were exceptional
Food & service exceptional, staff most attentive without being obvious.
Exceptional wine list.
