Nice place to have a meal, plenty of space, good service
Very interesting menu with many items that we would have liked to try. Menu gives you the opportunity to share small plates, share large plates or have your own plate. The special of papadelle with duck was delicious, the charcuterie was very generous. Service was good. Nice to have this quality eatery on the north shore.
The food and service were fantastic. We had a lovely long lunch and couldn't fault any element of the experience. We can't wait to dine here again.
A great revamp of the Greengate Restaurant, easy to get to, lovely food and extensive cocktail and wine list! The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, and was a lovely venue for a group of friends to catch up at.
The shared Lamb was very nice, but unfortunately not evenly heated
Amazing lunch. This is restaurant is exactly what the upper north shore needed. Great staff, delicious food and great new fit out. Couldn't fault anything.
The best chocolate tart I have ever had! Lovely wait staff
Have met with friends many times over the years and always had a lovely time. Now its had a refurb the tables are much closer together and its very difficult to have a conversation over the noise. The menu is limited and pricey for what it is. Sadly, won't be returning.
The renovation has made the dining space more modern but to me it’s lost a bit of its old world charm. Service was excellent and the food was also great. It’s a totally different menu now but some great share plate options for 2ppl. We tried both the lamb and beef (lamb was better). At just over $400 for 8 people, it’s a bit pricey but for the quality, it’s reaosnable value.
After reading that two Aria managers were involved in this new restaurant venture I was looking forward to trying it out and booked it for lunch with friends.
However it didn’t meet expectations.
The menu was somewhat limited and the barramundi dish came with a very meagre accompaniment of a small and very al dente cauliflower floweret and an equally meagre amount of red pepper romesco. Those who ordered this dish finished their meal still hungry.
Great if you’re on a diet but for $32 one would expect to have a full and satisfying meal that didn’t require “padding out” with side dishes at further expense.
The cheapest bottle of Chardonnay on the wine list was $52.
The desserts were nice but our coffees arrived so tepid we had to ask the waitress to take them back and replace them.
All in all quite an underwhelming experience for the price and at the end of the day it must be remembered that this restaurant is within a suburban pub.
Being a local I would like to say I will give them another chance but at this stage am hesitant to do so.
A very relaxed Pub venue for Sunday lunch with friends. (our age group - 70s) New owners/chefs and recently renovated. Excellent service and casual food, well prepared and presented, with sufficient menu offerings. Ample choices on the wine and beer menu. Not a 'cheapie' but in the mid range cost and offering 'more' than the usual Pub style food in the delightful Heritage Greengate Hotel. Would recommend and will definitely return for another lunch or dinner.
Very impressed with the food and service, great to have a good quality local restaurant, interesting menu. We will be back.
Food was beautifully presented. The staff, particularly the hostess, was refreshingly professional and personable. Great to see such well trained staff.
A great place for all ages and generations to get a good meal
Lovely local restaurant. Excellent menu, not too complicated. Food fresh and well presented.
Attentive service and nice friendly vibe. Will be back for more.
Pleasant outlook, nice ambiance. A buzzy vibe yet quiet enough to hear conversation easily. Tables well spaced. Food and service very good.
Great to finally have a good restaurant serving good and simple fresh cuisine at a reasonable price on the North Shore. Will definitely be returning.
As a result of timber floor it was very noisey and found it very hard to hear.
Hard to get a drink, my entree served after my son had finished his and then the over cooked steaks came out. Also our sides never turned up.
Not going back to portico in a hurry
The menu has variety including vegetarian and gluten free options which are clearly identified on the menu. The service was professional. The restaurant was quiet enough to hold a conversation with other guests at the table.
Always enjoy the food & atmosphere. We were there on Monday night & so quiet so expected better service from staff. After my first glass of wine was poured our waitress despite constantly coming to our table never topped up my glass. My husband was drinking a beer & a glass of red wine.
If restaurant full would have understood but left feeling disappointed for the 1st time
Great and friendly service throughout. Food is very good, standard pricing. Smart casual. A good local.
