Lovely staff and great food! Super Yummy
Really lovely food. Intimate surroundings. Worth the trip
The menu was limited and my gnocchi dish was unappetising
I am compelled to respond because your review is extremely unfair to the hardworking Grato team. The Gnocchi Malfatti, handmade with spinach & ricotta di bufala, a gluten free dish very popular with our regulars. The flavours are delicate. Our menu consists of 7 starters, 4 pastas, 3 main courses+side dishes, desserts. We stopped Specials & removed some items from the menu during Covid-19 to reduce wastage. You may wish to reconsider when reviewing restaurants during these challenging times!!
Great food in a posh, pretty area but also a little overpriced. Felt a bit awkward as the owner was packing back and forth and took away my bread plate as soon as I picked up the last piece...
Simply amazing!!! I went for dinner with my hubby as it was recommended by some relatives and we were very impressed with the quality of food! Pietro, the owner was very kind and attentive. The only thing that let us down was the tiramisu, not as good as expected but we will definitely go back!
Amazing food, personalised service for our boisterous group of 12, including 6 kids. They seated us in their private dining room and indulged us no end with their service and scrumptious food. Highly recommend!!! Thank you
Outstanding service, tasty Italian food, great location.
Perfectly nice restaurant. Staff are warm and welcoming. The food is under seasoned and over priced. The veal is worth a try.
Amazing food, lovely staff. We felt a little rushed but perhaps this is because the staff were so on-the-ball with getting the food to us. Lovely location - would definitely come again.
Excellent ingredients, well prepared dishes, unpretentious in a charming location.
Delicious food! Really cute location. The staff was very friendly. Will definitely go back!
We booked an open table on Wednesday via the site, but arrival was told there was a separate handwritten list of people waiting ahead of us.
The whole point of reservations is that it holds the table for us. Instead we were sat downstairs next to the toilets and it's literally like a dungeon down there. I don't think they should be seating customers in that dark, isolated space.
The price for the food quality was a joke. £70 for 1 entree and two mains without sides and a glass of wine each. The pasta was extremely bland. My partner looked so disappointed and was kicking herself for suggesting this place.
Dear Luke, Sorry for the poor experience at Grato. It was an extremely busy night because of the Eat Out Help Out Scheme, we do have a handwritten reservations in addition to open table, guests are seated as per their bookings. I disagree our lower level is a dungeon it is a private dining area- italian stucco on the walls, an oak dining table etc. and many of our guests were dining downstairs alongside yourself. With discount you paid £50 for 1 entree, two mains & 2 glasses of wine!
Nice outdoor table, very good service if a tad over attentive by three different people dropping past in rapid succession asking if everything was ok
Lovely local, casual italian spot. Everything we had was very good and staff were polite.
Neighbourhood gem - fresh and well seasoned dishes. Crab pasta was delicious was told its made in the restaurant and tiramisu that melts in your mouth. Notable wine list & great location opposite a garden square. Definitely recommended.
Wonderful place to have a beautiful meal in London. Started out with pumpkin ravioli and it was superb. Pasta with just the right amount of filling and set in a lovely butter sauce. Pasta was a tad too aldente if I had anything to say negative about the dish. Sea Bass did not disappoint. Tiramisu was not my favorite. Wonderful people who care about the experience, own and manage this lovely spot.
Magnificent food, fantastic service and a lovely setting
This a genuine and delightful place with emphasis on the food and not frills.
Very fresh ingredients and wonderful flavours. It was a beautiful day and we were lucky to get a table outside. A tranquil setting, great service from a friendly and polite team. We would thoroughly recommend this great little local authentic Italian just off High Street Kensington.
Delicious and very fresh Italian food in a very cute well located restaurant!
If you are looking for really good food, high standards higiene and an original menu, Grato is the place.
I love that the place is so cosy with a touch of familiarity to it. The owner is often around and will attend discretely to everything you need.
It’s ambience is cute and mostly quiet, perfect for conversations between friends. You will feel no pressure to rush out as this place grows into a comfort zone that becomes difficult to leave.
If you are a vegetarian they also have something delicious waiting for you. And they are super nice if you request any special modification if you are vegan.
More than worth the money and your time!
A great little neighbourhood restaurant serving fresh pasta and some imaginative dishes. Their bread is out of this world. Delicious.
All the food was terrific. Great Tiramisu!
Excellent food in a small gem located in High Street Kensington.
Our lunch was for business purpose and the place was pretty quiet.
I would definitely recommend this place to eat nice, tasty and fresh Italian food !
We were seated in the basement. It was less noisy than the ground floor seating area, but exactly what we wanted. The staff were very attentive all through our meal. The food was excellent and we found it to be good value for money. We would return if we were in the area.
Quality of food and wines acceptable but overpriced. Restaurant very small and the tables are very near to each other. Good service provided by our waiter.
Great food, nice owner made for a great experience!!
Lovely evening. Even on a busy Valentine’s Day the food was amazing and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming.
Pre show dinner. Small Restaurant with very good Italian food. Service was very good, we were very happy and made it to the Royal Albert Hall in good time. Thank you
My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Grato. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. The Gnocchi was out of this world!
Real shame. Had high expectations but felt completely unwelcome and that the staff were distracted and not coping. The food was rushed out and was nice but underwhelming and did not make up for the uncomfortable surroundings. So disappointed
Dear Guest, your review is not in line with how we operate or treat our guests. I have sent you a message to get in touch to understand better the issues you had. It was a busy Sunday lunchtime and we try to be attentive to every table and needs of our guests. Best Wishes Grato 🙏
Food is delicious. Difficult to equal. Very warm welcome.
Great service and really outstanding Italian food. And the owner made us feel at home. We will certainly come back!
Unbelievable ! I haven’t experienced a restaurant in London that puts that much effort and care into their food. Very fairly priced, authentic Italian. When the bill came, I felt happy to support the business.
Loved this place - had dinner here, the food was delicious (rigatoni and gnocchi were ace) and the staff were welcoming and made you feel right at home. Highly recommend
Great low key Italian place in Kensington. Really enjoyed the food and ambiance.
Excellent - service, food, & hosts, will definitely return
Nice to find a restaurant in central London that provides such good value
Found this little place on opentable, and liked the sound of the menu and we were not disappointed. Many recommendations made by the owner and we happy with the choices we made. We were here to celebrate a birthday, the cake and candle was a lovely touch. It nice to meet the owner and his wife Su, a busy little place so booking is a must.
We loved this neighborhood restaurant--small and intimate, with excellent food and very friendly service and staff. We would go again when we are next in London.
We had the most wonderful family lunch at Grato. It couln't have been more perfect from start to finish. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. The location in Kensington Sq is also beautiful.
