I have the pleasure of performing at Grassos and it was a nice switch to go there as a customer to celebrate my wife's birthday. From the moment we entered, the staff greeted us and made us fell at home.
Everyone who was working that night came by to see how we were doing, and we were doing great. Foddering was wonderful and the special cocktails by Sean were appreciated. Music was wonderful and all in all, we will be back as customers. Run, don't walk, say hi to Gail and Janet and tell them Jack sent you...
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Grassos for a number of reasons. First off the general welcome or should I say non-welcome from the hostess...I felt like she was doing me a favor and not at all apologetic for not being ready with a table that I had reserved over a month ago...no offer of seating for my 92 year old father and just a really overall non-warm greeting - disappointing. Next waiter never returned with more bread [even though requested] no additional glasses [requested] no follow up regarding meal or if we wanted to order another drink -- no one came by or inquired at all -- the worse service I have had in a very long time. The food was average especially since the bill was high I had greater expectations...very disappointing
A bit too noisy
Music and food both excellent. One of my favorite Long Island places to enjoy fabulous live jazz and flavorful tastes!
Third time here. Absolutely love everything!! Amazing fish 😋 Music of course never disappoints.
The food was delicious and the music was excellent. Gail Storm is one of our favorites!
Grasso’s never disappoints
We had a night out with friends and the food was amazing.
Always delicious. Noise level was a bit high. I wish the hostess wouldn’t walk around with the iPad. Kind of distracting.
Went there for Sunday brunch, reserved a table by the window in the corner. Very pleasant ambiance, atmosphere. Live music playing but not overwhelming just the right background and still able to have conversation at the table. Menu is eclectic with something for everyone. Pricing is reasonable. Food was tasty and prepared well. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. We even placed an order to go from the menu because we wanted to try an additional dish to take home. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for most occasions.
It was the first time here. Food was absolutely delicious, waiter friendly. They kept to reservation time and the music was delightful! Can’t wait to go back!
We always enjoy dining there on Sunday evening. It's usually a mellower experience. The food and service were excellent and the music was a real pleasure. We hadn't heard this trio before and truly enjoyed their sound, especially the lead guitarist Brother Dave.
Lovely find with live entertainment. Service was very attentive and quick. A tad pricey and portions were small. Will definitely return for dinner as our first visit was for brunch.
Service was very good. Everyone very attentive and happy to please us. Food was good. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
This was my second time at Grasso's. My first time I ordered the duck dinner which was excellent. This last time I ordered the duck again and it was unsatisfactory, very fatty, and the accompanying rice with mushrooms had a awful taste to it. The entertainment was quite good though. I'll give it one more try but will NOT order duck which is also overpriced by the way
My wife and I dined here on May 25, 2019. She enjoyed her salmon while I savored the pan-roasted chicken entree. The service was very good, and the food is fresh.
After eating our meals, we moved over to the bar area for additional drinks. There was entertainment during our visit, namely a pianist accompanied by a stand-up bass player. The music added additional ambiance to the place.
I highly recommend Grasso's.
One of my favorite LI restaurants..The food and service is always outstanding and the live music never ever disappoints...Just a great vibe here and i’d recommend it to all...
The food, service and ambiance are very good. And the live music.
Prices are getting to expensive. We were the only couple there on our usual Monday night. Monday night menu has not been fully available. Find a way to reduce prices.
Food was good, but nothing really unique or special. Service was pretty slow, but it was very crowded so that can be excused somewhat.
It was a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch with live jazz. The service was great and I liked that the owner asked if we were enjoying our meals. There was a new dish on the menu and my daughter suggested avocado to be added. The owner came back and the chef agreed! I look forward to going back.
I would recommend this restaurant to a friend, however despite making reservations well in advance, they would need to prepare to wait for a table to become available.
This was a nice find!! Food and service were outstanding!! We’ll be back
The food is consistently excellent along with the service. My wife and I have dinner here about once a month and are never disappointed. The live jazz music makes for a great dining experience. We recommend Grasso’s to all of our friends!
My friends and I enjoyed our dinner immensely! The music and food were exceptional. A great Restaurant Week offering.
Excellent food and jazz with a good crown.. not loud and able to talk as the music was just the right volume to be heard yet back ground.... food, service and music was all great... will go back
Great menu. Food was delicious. Terrific ambiance and service. Great local spot.
We have never been disappointed going to Grasso’s, everything in the menu is top-notch, and the waiters and waitresses are the best. Tonight, the jazz music was right on key !
Long Island restaurant week. Nice menu. Good food.
We were there for restaurant week which gave us a great chance to experience Grassos after many years. The overall concept is the same... lively place, relatively small and packed with locals in their 50s - 80s (90%+ of customers) and a great jazz trio.
The overall value for restaurant week was great, menu items were great and we always remembered Grassos as having very warm service with great tasting food. That evening, both were bland. The service was very slow. The food items looked phenomenal but there was little taste. We felt disappointed because we always enjoyed the food and the jazz. We had reservations and came 15 minutes early but still had to wait 20 mins past our reservation time... that was not fun, especially because there is little room in the front by the bar. We couldn’t even get a drink because the locals were squeezed in tight and there was no getting in there... so, we stood with about 8+ other couple and parties while others got seated that had just walked in (odd, but understandable). We were placed in the main dining room up a few steps and that when the big disappointment came. We could not hear the Jazz Trio at all and also really couldn’t see them because of the wall between both rooms and where we were positioned.
So, the main reason for going, to relax, have a great meal at a unique, quaint restaurant with some soothing awesome jazz turned out to be a miss.
I still recommend Grassos. the place is a great place but on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared and ask for the jazz room table only if you like jazz. I’m sure their food is better than what we had... I’ll bet that was just an off night... also, the young ladies at the front should do a little better job of chatting it up with waiting customers who have a reservation, while you constantly seat people ahead of others... at least explain what’s going on. very frustrating for people. Just put yourself in their shoes. I’ll be back for a better time.
Enjoyed everything, 3 of my friends were disappointed with their meal!
A nice place for a enjoyable meal with jazz in background
Excellent service and the food was delicious. Very good selections for restaurant week.
We went during restaurant week. We had not been there in many years, and were very impressed with the menu selections. Everything they brought to the table was well prepared and tasty. As an added bonus there was an live, excellent jazz duet to entertain us on a Sunday night. We will definitely return.
The owner is lovely and the food is outstanding !!!!
There are so many wonderful restaurants on Long Island and Restaurant Week is a great time to explore unfamiliar culinary experiences. Grasso's in Cold Spring Harbor was an outstanding find! The menu was not limited to a few choices. The food was deliciously prepared, seasoned to perfection (I am salt sensitive) and generous. We received very attentive service. From our starter of crusty Italian bread with dip to our last bite of dessert, the meal was outstanding. The topper was when Gail Grasso came to our table to see how we enjoyed our dining experience. Now that is customer service!
The jazz players were great, enjoyed listening to different jazz pieces.Food was delicious from appetizers to dessert.Staff and waiters very nice and attentive.Couldnt ask for more ,for a beautiful night out with my husband!!!!
The best swordfish i have had in years. Was truly a culinary experience.
We went for brunch and it was an excellent experience for all at the table. We are definitely going back
