Visit with my daughter who lives in Queen Anne
Above average neighborhood restaurant. Small restaurant in upper Queen Anne. Interesting food perfectly prepared. It's not fancy, but it is good! (And, very nice people)
Overall very nice. Food was outstanding. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. There was some confusion from the host around getting seated for our reservation, in which he assumed we were part of a treble of walk ups, and dismissed us a little impatiently when we approached. After another host seated us, he realized his mistake and was apologetic. Not a huge deal, but didn’t set the best tone.
This is my second time at Grappa. The food is great. I feel the pricing is a little high for the service level and drinks, but it’s not outrageous considering the high rent location. No doubt I’ll be back. Great food, location, and space. Service is solid and on the casual side. Not the greatest overall value but the dishes we had were outstanding. A solid choice for a nice, casual but upscale meal.
Great food, ambiance and staff!!
Amazing meal and wonderful staff. The staff took all safety precautions to make the evening safe and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
This is my second time going in about two weeks. I definitely have enjoyed the food both times! I will say that, while delicious, some of the items are a bit overpriced. We got the burrata and tomatoes, which was $16. It tasted great, but I was pretty surprised that the dish had four small slices of tomatoes on it with the burrata, and that they charged that much for it. I would’ve love to see some more tomatoes on the plate! I will, however, 100% be going back!
A rare treat to find gazpacho! Food and service were both great. Would totally go back.
Wonderful ambiance, food was excellent. Very friendly staff.
Drinks and food were very good. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, however, she was very sweet.
Our friend had the Turkish coffee at the end of the meal and had her fortune read. That was the highlight of the night.
We’ll be back next time we’re in town.
Sea scallops piccata very good. Lasagne very good. Calamari starter was good, but way too much heat, to the point that the main flavors were somewhat obscured. Service very good but slow--I suspect they were understaffed. Noise level deafening--whatever happened to quiet restaurants?
This place looks great, and the food is delicious. It’s perfect for a date, special occasion, evening with friends. Also they have happy hours, which works great for just a regular dinner. This place is a bit pricy though, but it’s normal for places like this.
I've been a customer for the past 3 years, but recently something changed for the worse. On my last three visits I had to wait 30 minutes despite having a reservation. The food quality is deteriorating as well. Don't want to complain, but the chef definitely needs to revisit the amount of tomatoes in the pastas and the lasagna. Thought of giving them a chance, but I saw no improvement in the last 10-12 months. I am sorry, as that was one of the few places where they knew what a proper southern european meal looks and tastes like. And the prices? Wow, they went way North. Will definitely not recommend anymore, sorry.
overpriced. One octopus tentacle was $24 and 2 prosciutto wrapped scallops were $28. pretty crazy
The wait staff person was very attentive and responded to our requests in a friendly manner. Really enjoyed our dinner.
The food was not at its best. We ordered a paella and i believe we got jambalaya instead. It did say spicy but paellas are not THAT spicy. the rice was brown and watery. Rice in paellas is yellow. The taste was not even close to what a paella tastes like. Not coming back.
Nice Mediterranean food
My husband and I had a delicious meal before heading to a meeting on Queen Anne. Delicious paella and cioppino! And the wine I had with the paella was lovely. Cozy ambience sitting at a 2-top by the window.
Booked a day of reservation for New Year’s Eve and had a fantastic time. Food was great and we loved the ambiance!
We love this place! The seafood risotto is out of this world. Drinks are great. Not outrageously expensive.
I was pleasantly surprised to get a reservation for Christmas Day via Open Table because when I called the restaurant, I had been told they were full. It worked out great and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Though the restaurant was clearly busy, it didn’t impact our experience at all. There was a skilled guitarist playing but I was concerned about sitting too close because we wanted to chat. Even though I threw them a curve by requesting a table not too close to the music, they were able to seat us with only a brief wait. The table that was selected was great, we could speak without raising our voices yet still hear the music. The atmosphere was relaxing, low lighting and candle light. The food was delicious and arrived at a perfect pace. We had calamari and bruschetta for starters. I learned that when the menu says spicy, they mean it! I was very glad to have the bruschetta to tame the heat of the calamari! That said, the dish was perfectly prepared, so tender! For dinner, I ordered the filet mignon and my son ordered lasagna. The meat was wonderful, exquisitely tender and flavorful. I don’t know how the lasagna was but I suspect it was also perfect because he didn’t offer to share and it disappeared rapidly! Neither of us felt we could eat a whole dessert after such a satisfying meal so we split the flourless chocolate cake and found it to like everything else, perfect!
Their Christmas Day dinner was a perfect time to go. Would recommend this event and we would definitely do this again! The food was delicious, service good, and the music a very nice touch for the holiday. The only deterrent was that the wines and drinks were pricey--great selection, but perhaps they could add a few less expensive options.
We enjoyed a delicious and festive Christmas dinner at Grappa this evening. We were among the 5pm crowd that showed up early, and with nothing else open in the area there was nothing to do but wait. The staff was awesome and let us in 10 minutes before they were supposed to open so we didn't all have to wait in the cold. Thank you!!!
The ambiance was relaxed but festive with Christmas classics playing at first, followed by some cheerful (and not intrusive) live music. The staff all seemed to be in the Christmas mood and there was a convivial feeling all around.
The Greek chicken was some of the best chicken I have ever had. My husband really enjoyed his steak. I can't wait to come back for my birthday or our anniversary. Or maybe sooner!
Delicious food, great ambiance. The food was pricier than what the online menu shows, of note.
Wonderful place for Christmas Eve dinner. Quiet environment for conversation and enjoyment of the tasteful live music.
Good food, but two of us found our food to be a bit spicey. The seafood risotto is excellent and not pleasantly seasoned. Still a good dining out experience.
Decent enough, but not terribly impressed with anything. For the price, I would just expect a lot more from the food. We won’t return as there are other more favorable places nearby that cost the same or even less.
Fabulous food and service. I’m going back!!
The food was great. We had lemon chicken and the paella. The service was spot on. I’d go back.
Mushroom sausage risotto was devine, staff was amazing! Great place for a date night or going with family and friends.
Great lasagne and Mediterranean salad! Service was attentive and wine person very knowledeable
Lovely experience once again we have been in Queen Anne for 6 weeks and used this restaurant a few times now.
The food is amazing and service excellent.
We will be returning for sure....😊
Love this place. Great food, great service.
I love grandpa as it feels like a neighborhood bar—which it is—The food is excellent and great house Cab. I have been there for or five times and it’s always excellent!
Possibly the best salad I’ve ever had. Also had the Greek chicken, flourless chocolate cake and Marion berry sorbet. All delish. I’ll return.
We went for Seattle restaurant week and the food was absolutely delicious.
We went during SRW, and it was a fantastic deal for their food. I never had risotto before, and it was fabulous. The only thing we didn't like was the desserts were quite rich.
Disappointing dinner with repeat diners. My sister and BIL have visited several times and invited us. Service was slow and uneven. Crab Raviolis were watery and stringy, lamb was tasty but not cooked as asked. The waitress and MGR replaced the Raviolis. No longer watery but still odd tasting. Music grew louder as evening went on, almost like a Nightclub. Didn’t hate it but will not be visiting again.
The wait staff and the food were great. It was much louder than I remember from my last visit which made it hard to have a conversation. I think they could drop the level of the music a fair bit particularly the pieces with a lot of base
I went to Grappa (for the first time) for the Restaurant week special with a date. It was a great experience overall and I'd go back again. I only gave three stars for value since I thought the portion sizes (for the appetizer and entree) were somewhat small. The flourless chocolate cake was perfect, though! The service was great - very attentive, prompt and polite.
