Very enjoyable dinner. Great food and great service
Definitely will be back! Great service and tasty food! Had a really nice dining experience last night. Staff was so thoughtful, and surprised my hubby with birthday dessert with candle. Wonderful!
Absolutely fabulous! Well worth the trip to the city. Came on a recommendation so very glad we went
Best Peking duck we’ve eaten in a long time! And such a beautiful setting.
Very Friendly Staff..remembered us from last time. We invited friends, and they were also very impressed.."The best they've had in a while". Food was fresh and good size portions. Definitely one of our favorite places. Thank you x
Even better than it used to be. Really lovely, and the staff are fabulous.
One of the best peking duck options in Perth. Other dishes are a bit hit and miss though we've always enjoyed the truffle prawns and vegetarian fried rice. One of the pricier options for Chinese, but worth going to try the peking duck. Quiet ambience better suited for smaller groups and service is lovely.
Great atmosphere and food. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Duck was excellent.
Vegetables very salty
Grand Orient has a stellar menu
The food is fresh and exceptional
The Peking Duck is the best in Perth!
Great food and service, peking duck is the best here as well as a fried ice cream to finish up.
Beautifully curated atmosphere, food is always fantastic
Beautiful fresh Chinese food best ever we went two nights in a row
Really nice food, the vegetarian rice was delicious! The service was very attentive and the décor was lovely.
The food is quite good. The service is good. The ambience is OK. The only issue is the price ! Also it would be great if the restaurant was open for lunch during the week.
Beautiful restaurant, greeted and given a choice of seating. Specials well explained and were told unavailable dishes from start. Drinks order taken and served promptly. We then placed our food choices - Seafood For Two. Food was well presented in a timely manner, taste was over and above our expectation.
A special treat was the bottle of 2009 John Kosovich Vintage Shiraz (500ml) with slightly customised dessert.
Overall it was an enjoyable evening with great company, delicious food and drinks. Service was excellent throughout the evening. Highly recommended.
We had the Peking Duck special which really was! Also tried the schezuan lamb and coral trout w vegetables. Steamed jasmine rice was perfect. We finished with adzuki bean pancake abs ice cream. Service is attentive and friendly.
Went there for Peking duck and was blown away! Everything else just as delectable and I love the service from all of the staff :) thanks for making my birthday that much more memorable!
Everything was perfect. Food is always good, and small but versatile wine list (good reserve wines). Kevin and his crew were outstanding with their service on what was a very big lunch crowd, but they handled it quickly and efficiently. I'll be back again for sure!
The food was absolutely amazing! I didn’t love where we where sat for the evening. It was off to the corner and not apart of the main restaurant. We had booked and the restaurant wasn’t even full so I don’t know exactly why we where setting there. The food does take some time to be served but it’s very delicious. I didn’t love that the duck pancakes can’t be ordered on their own but that aside I have no complaints about the food. It’s definitely the best Asian restaurant for me. The soft shell crab was dazzling. We will definitely be back.
There were six of us, we ordered the Peking Duck banquet. The Peking Duck pancakes and San Chow Duck were delicious as were the starters of Spring Rolls and Deep Fried Octopus (starters not included in the banquet.) The next course was the Beef Dish, delivered to us hot , only an average size dish for 6 people. Two portions would of been my guess. It sat there until one of us got up and asked them for some rice. We each got a small bowl of rice intended for the rest of the meal. The Barramundi while delicious, but we only got 5 pieces for 6 people. The next dishes came after long waits. Overall, I did not think we got value for money........ $145 spent on alcohol, $448 on food. I was over it by the time we left
Lovely ambience. Great service staff. Good quality tasty food. Will return.
We really enjoyed the food but where we were sitting was too close to the next table. The main dining room looks better. So that was disappointing from what I expected. The service was much too fast, topping drinks etc we were in and out within an hour and I would have preferred a more relaxed pace and atmosphere. Probably won’t go
Delicious authentic Chinese food and attentive customer service with great ambiance
Peking duck 2-courses was delicious. Rest of a la carte menu was great too. Wait time for service was long which meant we were starving by the time the food arrived. Overall service was good.
Great service good food , shame the music is on a continual loop within the restaurant and hotel.
Amazing food with appropriate price. Will definitely go back in the near future
very nice dining experience.loved the place and friendly staff.
Excellent Asian cuisine and very attentive staff. Delightful setting only spoilt by the low attendance and eerie quietness that ensues. Drinks choice could be improved by offering customers the choice of beer on tap as well as bottled beer.
However ,an overall good experience and a venue that I would revisit.
Once again, outstanding fare. One of the world's great cuisines done justice in Perth at last.
Delicious peking duck pancakes 🥞
Would definetly go there again for a feast
Thank you, particularly Nancy?
Attentive staff, delicious food. Nice decor in relaxed surroundings.
Food was nice, great service will return again soon.
We had the Peking duck banquet for 2. Absolutely great Peking duck - the best I've had in Australia in years. Sweet and sour pork was fantastic too (loved the lychees in it). Only thing was the toothfish did not pair well with the other dishes, the flavour was too delicate and not as tasty. In hindsight I would get another main packed with flavour to complement the rest of the meal!
Service was also superb. We went at lunchtime and the atmosphere was nice, not too noisy.
Happily would return for a special Chinese meal.
Absolutely stunning dining experience for lunch dim sum; I can't wait to return!
We went to Grand Orient principally for their Peking Duck. There were 4 of us and we ordered the "Peking Duck Feast for 4" set menu. The Peking Duck turned out to be rather ordinary, only to be kind. The chef prepared the duck in front of us which was a half duck but looked over "cooked" as the duck skin was rather "charcoal black" instead of dark golden brown. The taste of the duck skin was crispy but it was the kind of "deep fried" crispiness which is entirely not the kind of "roasted" crispiness that it should be. The other 3 dishes that came with the set were again unremarkable. Overall, we would not go back to the restaurant if our only reason was for the Peking Duck. Though, the service and ambience was acceptable for a business meal.
There is another thing perhaps I should mention. One of our incentives for going to Grand Orient was that they are listed in the Entertainment Book for an offer of 25% discount off the total bill as described in the Book's Terms and Conditions. However, they declined to offer us the discount when we were paying on the reason that the Set Menu was already discounted even though it was not specified in the T&C. Albeit we understand the management has the right to set their rules but that should be clearly specified in the T&C. Without so doing, it is simply not fair to their customers as we could have ordered a la carte to enjoy the discount. I would suggest any one who wishes to use the Entertainment Book should first check with the management to be sure.
Nice dining room décor. Suitably retro background music that complemented the decor perfectly. We ordered the Peking Duck feast. The food was tasty, of good quality and well prepared. The wine list wasn't extensive but was adequate and well thought out, containing sufficient choice for diners. The restaurant was very busy on Saturday evening, and as the noise level increased, the ambiance changed from romantic to energetic. The wait staff remained attentive, were professional and did their best. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience.
