Good Spirits Restaurant
I’ve been to this restaurant on 4-5 occasions and each time I’ve been very impressed by the diversity and presentation of everything on the menu. They take both their cocktails and their dishes very seriously here and the service is attentive and friendly but never intrusive. This last time owner Paul Flanigan even paid our table a visit. We’ll be back
Service and food were excellent. I highly recommend the place.
Tried the Crave menu tonight and it was delicious and the beignets for dessert were a special treat! Restaurant was pretty crowded for a summer evening in Ft Lauderdale. Nice vibe!
Seabass and the oyster Rockefeller was excellent. So was the tomato bisque. The biggest drawbacks was the cauliflower Au gratin and the calimari fries which had no taste and was over cooked and the cauliflower was just a hulk of cauliflower with melted cheese on top. Other than that the other food choices was really good.
Third time here and again the food is very good. My issue continues to be the pricing, given the ambiance. When you sit inside (especially the front high tops by the bar (I’d asked for a regular table, not high top) it has a ver bar-like feel, and definitely not the ambiance to warrant $35-45 entrees. And while the halibut was very good, it came more with garnishes than true sides and the portion size for $38 was very small. Compare that with Dune, which is super new with a gorgeous upscale interior (everyone dressed well and not the jeans, shorts, and tees at the neighborhood bar feeling Good Spirits) and where the halibut is priced exactly the same and comes with a full side. Just makes no sense. Again the food is good, but not for a place with nice, but bar, ambiance.
Lunch with friends on a Friday - perfect! Thank you to Jose our waiter and to the Chef for the delicious dishes. The fresh salads and sandwiches (we all shared) were amazing!
Uur waiter was a little disinterested however my main problem was that they reported I did not show up for my reservation. I clearly did and I checked in with the girl at the bar upon our arrival and told her my name and that we had a reservation.
So I received a No Show notice from OpenTable which I had to reply to with name of our waiter and where we sat etc... etc....
Food was good but pricey for what you get.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my sister’s birthday. Our waiter was very nice and funny. The food was good, although my farmers steak sandwich was a bit tough, but very tasty. The drinks were good. I just feel the place was a bit pricey, but overall we had a great time.
While the food was absolutely fantastic & the service was ok at the beginning....there is one one pretty significant complaint is that when they ask you about ‘a starter salad to have before or accompany your meal’, they don’t tell you it’s the full salad & the full charge of the salads stated on the menu. We had already had an appetizer, one would assume given the many restaurants we’ve been to, that it’s either a small side salad that’s included or a few dollars which was not at all mentioned, CERTAINLY NOT an extra $13-$14 per person. And we had asked him about the salad options a few times since he noted a couple so he had plenty of opportunity to say any that’s on the menu because that’s what you’ll be getting in size and price! This may not be typical of all the servers, but our experience certainly left a bad taste in our mouth. (maybe all of them aren’t trying to run up the bill like ours clearly was, who was quick to ask us to refill our alcoholic drinks, but disappeared when we wanted a refill of our water)
As for the food, we had:
-braised short rib app $16 which was amazing in flavor.
-the ‘Just Greens’ pear Gorgonzola salads $13 & Caesar salads. Caesar is a Caesar at $14 seems a bit high for no frills kinda salad . The Just Greens was a fabulous mix of mixed greens, pear, pecans, tomatoes, cucumber, crispy sweet potatoes, and the poppyseed dressing was delicious. Much better value for $13 than $14 for a plain ol Caesar.
-a halibut special entree $38 that can with a variety of veggies. my friend said was Meh, cooked perfect but lacked a wow factor and flavor maybe needed some kind of sauce on the dish bc it was a lil dry overall.
-the giant meatball $26 was fabulous, could’ve used a lil more sauce because once you cut up it up it lacks sauce on most of the pieces
-seafood coconut curry $39 was by far all of our favorite dish of all the entrees. Much better bang for your buck vs the halibut that was only a dollar less. Way more
This restaurant is consistently excellent. I go here a lot with a lot of different friends. My first introduction was dinner with a friend from Ohio who owns quite a few restaurants. I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the food is consistently good. Last night I needed a light dinner and the
Service was great and food was too! Would definitely return. Yelp has a buy 1 get 1 entre coupon.
Business lunch -everything was so delicious! Great ambiance too! Loved it!
Excellent all around. Jose was great and the food was delicious. A bit pricey for lunch, but worth it.
The meal and service was excellent. There is a varied menu with a choice of a light or regular dishes. The menu fairly diverse and lots of interesting dishes. Seating is varied;at the bar, outside, or at regular tables inside. Would recommend the restaurant to anybody. Parking is easy as garage next door.
Server greeted us promptly. Food was excellent, fresh . Preparation and presentation was beautifully done. We had the fresh halibut, the meatball, the lobster Mac n cheese, and the steak. We had a couple of
The Specialty drinks, very refreshing.
Definitely will return.
Friends lunch - so many great dishes to choose from so we all shared. Food was delicious!! Spot-on service by our waiter Jose.
In my opinion, good spirits is the most reliably good restaurant in the area at a reasonable price.
Pre - Fathers Day dinner with our children. Dinner and cocktails were fabulous! Just love the feel of this place.
No more sushi and the pork was very dry.
What can you say about a place that has average ambience, over priced food, poor selections, small portions and mediocre food? Don’t go back!
Too bad because it’s our new neighborhood restaurant. Stick with DocBs next door.
Austin was a great server the food was very good
Food was great but the restaurant was slow and the servers would just lean on the wall instead of being attentive. We had to wave our server over a few times.
Had a weekday lunch at Good Spirits. The restaurant was fairly empty, but the space is lovely. The server recommended the short rib starter which was truly outstanding-tender beef atop creamy polenta. For my main I had the chopped steak with blue cheese and pan roasted potatoes-again excellent! We will definitely try it for dinner when hopefully it is a bit more lively.
Definitely will be back for brunch. Jersey Joe & staff were very friendly and helpful especially when I messed up my own order by being caught up in the music & atmosphere. Thanks again for your kindness.
Excellent food and excellent service. Definitely get your money's worth!
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The Short rib was amazing and the salad was refreshing. The table thought everything was great. Service was well-timed and friendly, drinks were affordable."
We went to here based on looking at random restaurants here on Open Table... The reviews were excellent so we thought we would try it out. For a Friday night there was not that many people there - which did not bother us at all. The hand crafted spirits we tried were very good and Curry dish my better half ordered made her moan yum at least 6 times. I ordered the tenderloin but had the chef blacken it and changed the vegetables to smashed potatoes and it was amazing !!! For dessert we had the red velvet cake and it was fresh and the cream cheese icing was perfect. We will be back soon and hopefully we will have another experience here like the first time... We highly recommend this restaurant !
Best food in Fort Lauderdale! We have been here for brunch, lunch and dinner and everything is outstanding! Love the vibe of this restaurant as well!!
We went for Mother’s Day and our food & service were awesome! Cannon was a phenomenal waiter! At our every need! He made our experience fantastic!
Came for Mother's Day Brunch! Definitely exceeded my expectations! Cannon our server was awesome! Will come back for dinner!
Went for brunch on Mother’s Day and this is now my new go to place for brunch. Great quality food and outstanding service. I don’t think my wife ever got to the bottom of a Mimosa before the next fresh one was on the table.
The food tasted very good and the presentation was excellent. I would recommend this place.
My wife asked for a Philadelphia roll, which is on every sushi menu I've ever seen and not on their menu. They weren't willing to accommodate initially until after we talked with the manager and then they could make it.
Conch fritters were breaded with chunks of conch in them, which were unappetizing.
Overall atmosphere was great though.
Quite expensive. The food was very good. Service was very good and not intusive.
Having a lunch with the family. We all had/ate a great food option. Deserts were also 'tasty'. There was good /attentive service. Overall this is a restaurant to put on favorites list and come back to have dinner next time.
Made an Open Table reservation for inside the restaurant. Arrived at the reservation time and told that our table wasn’t ready, and we could either wait at an extremely crowded bar area or be seated at a table outside until our table was ready. We chose an inside table because it was about to rain, so neither wait option was appealing. We chose to sit and wait outside, but the server was not told by the hostess, nor did the hostess ever come
back to move us to our table, so we wound up sitting outside... It did rain, so we adjusted our table to not get soaked.
Won’t be back.
Excellent Service. Thank you Cannon. My sister visiting from Ohio and the rest of our party of five had a fantastic time.
The food was amazing. The waiter was friendly as well as knowledgeable. He always had a smile and was willing to go the extra mile to make our experience even better. This was the second time that Cannon was our waiter. I will definitely request him on our next visit.
Awesome as always. Staff and management always first rate & friendly. All those reasons keep us coming back!
