For us, there’s nothing more exciting than discovering these tastes. It’s our passion. Our obsession. It gets us up in the morning and into the kitchen, never knowing exactly what we’ll come across next.

Ambience terrible a total dump
Used to be my favourite place, service and food has gone down hill which is a shame. Its a lovely restaurant and always enjoyed their varied menu
The menu promised interesting dishes however everything tasted very manufactured.
Always enjoy eating at this restaurant, great friendly family environment.
Not enough staff for a Bank Holiday. Was told that we couldn’t use vouchers but I showed server the app then they changed their mind. First three items we ordered we either no longer actually on the menu or had run out of stock. Overpriced for an average burger and about 8 fries.
The service was awful, not sure why. The place was only half-full with three members of staff. There was no focus or care and we continually had to ask for various aspects to be dealt with. Left without having been offered a dessert menu or coffee. Had to ask for bill and wait at counter for it. This was not good value for money or an acceptable outing.
Waited a very long time with 2 young children, when it finally arrived the food was cold and order wrong. One waitress did a spectacular walk around the entire restaurant to look for the allergy menu that was placed by the till next to me.
Staff were great an food was amazing. Would definitely come back again.
Waited 45 mins for our food to arrive and my burger was cold. No one came over to say there would be a wait or check in. I was going to complain at the end but they were so slow getting our bill to us I had to leave with my son so he wouldn’t get bored and my husband paid after asking for the bill twice.
We had booked a table in advance and when we sat down the seats were dirty - the fabric needed a good clean. Whilst we waited for one more guest we were offered water. When it came the glass had previous food or something on it. We never knew who was really serving us as we had multiple servers. I had the Smoky Chicken Pide which was overcooked and tasteless and small for the money. Another person had the tagliatelle which was ok and another had the Rodeo Chicken was warm but not hot. In the gents toilets one of the sinks and one of the urinals was out of order. The bill had an optional service charge which is automatically added. It was unclear whether this went to the staff or into the company's profits. The whole place felt grubby. Just not a great experience and I wouldn't go back.
Took ages to be served with food even though only about three tables occupied when we arrived. Kids meals ok but burger was the very worst we have had. Three leaves of spinach and thin slice of tomato on top of burger. Bots patch on the usual McDonald’s and about four times the price. Won’t go there again.
Lots pf healthy choices and good deals. Not too busy so excellent service. Friendly and helpful staff.
Efficient friendly staff. Food good. Will come again.
There is a brunch menu but after ordering from there, the chef decided to finish earlier with the brunch and we had to order from the main menu.
They are too slowly and the music is so loud.
Very helpful with intolerances but not much variety for them. Very tasty food but seemed a bit overpriced. Would recommend if you haven't been before. 13 yo daughter would like to go back.
Food was excellent but service was a bit slow. We appreciate it was busy but waited nearly 20mins to be asked for drinks/food and things felt a bit rushed. However, our food and drinks were superb and will definitely come back on our next visit to Guildford
Cold scrambled eggs on one of the meals, but otherwise all good. Music slightly too loud but great service.
Great menu and great offers. Ice in the tap water was a good touch.
Reasonable food and service although quite slow- luckily we weren’t in a rush. Some of the food clearly frozen and not made with much care. Also cold do must have sat a while waiting to be brought out. Decor and upholstery very tired. The booth seats are very mucky and need recovering. Went for brunch and sadly doubt we’ll return. Menu has much prmise but hard poached eggs, carton orange juice and deep fried frozen potatoes rather than fresh ‘home fries’ a real shame. Highlights were big cups of coffee and the brownie!

When we arrived to the restaurant, although we had a confirmed table that we booked through their own website, they didn't catch us. It has no sense that you can book a table on the internet and then you find that. Just change the booking system or whatever to avoid this kind of problems.
We love Giraffe, especially because it is so child friendly and because it caters really well for allergies. They are always calm and measured, but respond beautifully (recognising the seriousness without any drama) and preparing our child's food separately and as requested (even if this means slight adaptations to the menu). The staff are always friendly and it's always clean and tidy.
A bit hit and miss with the staff : we nearly ended up with someone else 's food, waited rather long time for ours even tho the restaurant was almost empty, drinks also took ages.
Not our first visit to the giraffe at Guildford. We arrived early for our table and it wasn't a problem.
The food was a reasonable time coming to the table. It was as before good quality and a fair amount for what we paid. I had received an offer which gave me 2 for 1. Had desert which was lovely. The Malbec wine I had was very good quality, so I had another glass.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant, as they have a reasonable selection on the menu. You will be able to find something no matter how fussy you may be, that's a comment from someone who can be quite fussy.
Restaurant looking tired, chairs ripped, water bottles filthy around lid. Food overcooked. Only good bit was the pudding!
Very disappointing - the place has really gone down hill! There were no candles/sparklers for kids desert and no birthday song! No plastic giraffe's. Kids meals arrived before our food (5-10 mins) and drinks arrived eventually after all food had arrived. Not enough servers for a Saturday night. The mens toilets were a mess and the taps were broken/not working. Our son who's 8th birthday it was said the place had really changed and not for the better! He was upset we went there for his birthday treat and he doesn't want to go back!
DId not have booking when we arrived. We managed to get a table however, waited ages for a server, who did not know what drinks they served. Waited ages for food, which all came out separately. Thank goodness we left 2 hours before our show started, as only just made it. Tables all empty and not cleared, shocking! will not be going back and do not recommend
We have eaten at Giraffe many times & went back for my sons birthday. Upon arrival we were told there will be a 25 minute delay in our food, which was fine but after 20 mins were told our waitress forgot to place our order. Not everything on the menu was available and when the food finally arrived it was disappointing. The toilets sinks didn’t have any running water so all things considered we won’t be returning!
We booked Giraffe for our daughter’s 8th Birthday having had good experiences there before. Sadly standards have really slipped. I called in advance to see if we could have balloons at the table and a candle in her dessert as we had before and was told no. When we arrived on time for our booking we were made to wait over 10mins by the door without an offer of a drink. The food itself was nice although the children were disappointed not to get a plastic giraffe with their drinks. Thankfully our nice waitress agreed to put a candle we had brought in our daughter’s dessert and brought it out lit but we were the only ones singing. It all felt rather flat when we’d been before and made such a fuss of with several staff singing! The toilets were appalling, not one of the sinks in the men’s worked and both men and women’s toilets were filthy. This was our favourite restaurant and always first choice for family meals but we will not be going again in Guildford.
Food was tasty and I plentiful.
Sadly the very few staff working were very busy. One waiter worked well to meet our needs swiftly.
Really gone downhill. Such a shame as used to love taking the kids there. Avoid
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Did 2 for 1 Meerkat meal. Salads were delicious!
Arrived for brunch at 10:30, the restaurant was very quiet; only 1 other table in use. Some tables were waiting to be cleared. Music was playing but it was a little loud for comfort. Our order was taken promptly and drinks arrived quickly. We then waited over 20 minutes for our food (we had both ordered blueberry pancakes) and in the end had to chase up our order. It was then brought immediately, as if it had just been sitting waiting. It was warm but not hot. The portions were enormous; we had chosen this dish as we thought it would be a smallish, healthy option, but it was so big it probably wasn't as healthy! I couldn't finish mine. The single waitress was polite but given how empty the restaurant was, we were surprised at the slow service. I think there may have been people in the upstairs meeting room that took priority? We went to use the ladies' toilets before we left and they were clean, but only 1 of the 4 ceiling lights worked. All in all it was fine, but not great.
Excellent food (Penang bang chicken salad, lamb tagine and churros), good wine (Marlborough sauvignon) and friendly service. My only criticism would be that the decor is starting to look quite plain next to competitors like Bill's.
Great restaurant with a wide variety of food, something for everyone. The staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but food was served lukewarm and the kid’s wrap dish was meagre at best. There are many better value eateries in the area.
It was a shame when we visited that the team on the sunday shift did not have the staff. It was a long wait for drinks and food. Although pleasant it detracted from the normal Giraffe experience.
Food was good, unfortunately slow service let the rating down.
A great restaurant with very lovely food and always has great offers
Nothing good, nothing bad, just normal.
My problem with this restaurant is that they always have some problem in the kitchen and you need to wait around 20' to get your food. This is not just today it's been the same every time we came here
