Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse - Chicago
Rock solid dinner and experience time we every visit! The kids (15 and 11) look forward to it!
Our waiter Joe Tillman made our experience beyond incredible. The food, the service, and the evening
Was memorable. You pay for what you get at Gibson’s. It’s worth every penny.
Outstanding, attentive and friendly service. Well-prepared and tasty steaks with generous, shareable sides (brussel sprouts were delicious). This place hums with activity - great Chicago steakhouse
Place is amazing. Can't speak highly enough about it. They MAKE SURE you leave happy, quality is top notch, ambiance is excellent. Can't ask for more.
Had a wonderful dinner on our vacation in Chicago.
Joe was an amazing waiter.
Food magnificent as always. Server was a little inattentive. But still great experience 👍🏾
Best steakhouse I’ve been too. For me, nothing could ever compare to amasteis but the ribeye at Gibson’s was amazing, tender and juicy, and their double baked potato was delicious! If I’m ever back in Chicago I will definitely return.
I chose Gibson’s for its great reviews and absolutely was not disappointed. I went for an early Sunday lunch so the place was not crowded. The service was immaculate and the bone in rib eye, WR’s Chicago cut, which was recommended was perfectly cooked and delicious. They had one of my favorite and reasonably priced wine, Justin. The service was great! All was perfect!
Amazing. Never a disappointment.
Service and food were excellent!
Great service- our waiter Joe was top notch and there for our every need. Space is general feels a little cramped. Wait staff were constantly bumping into one another and our table. Finally a waiter removed one of our extra chairs.
Steak was amazing and creamed spinach is the best we’ve ever had!
More than just a steak house. Can’t wait to return.
Fantastic experience. The entire family thought it was a great evening
Server was great. Food was on point great bone in ribeye!
Went here because of reputation from online. Steak was beyond charred (asked for medium) and waitress was polite but forgot our wine and appetizers. Both we asked for twice. The wine was not on our bill though so we know she just completely forgot twice. Atmosphere was good though.
It was a birthday celebration for us, and the restaurant did not disappoint. The steaks and the sides were excellent, the service unobtrusive. High marks to our waiting staff, who never made us feel awkward or uncomfortable during our dining experience. We did not expect our dessert to be so huge that it served as our breakfast for the following two days. It was a banana cream cake, and it was just average. We would definitely recommend this place for any occasion.
Waitress was very nice and attentI’ve. I don’t recall her name but she has short brown hair
The waitress was amazing. The food was delicious, very large portions enough to share.
Recommended by friend for husband’s 60th Bday surprise. Dinner was amazing and our waiter Carl outstanding. Boston could use a Gibsons Restaurant! Loved our dinner!!!
Our server Devon was the best! Each and every time the wineglass got a little low he was there pouring and had a back up bottle ready to go. Love this place as it’s one of my favorite steakhouse that I visit during my travels
Service was impeccable ! Food to die for!!
Fantastic experience! The food was awesome and the service was impeccable!
This was our third year in a row when we come to down and it exceeded my expectations again!
Always a good meal. Was a little disappointed to get a table in the doorway when I had a reservation for a special occasion. Server was good and attentive but not very experienced or knowledgeable. Still a very good meal and an enjoyable time.
Booked in open table the day of and was pleasantly surprised I could a reservation. I Arrived 45 minutes early with my teenaged daughter and her friend and was seated right away. The dining room was very crowded. Not sure why our waiter Paco, didn’t show us the cuts of meat like he did the table next to us. Didn’t realize this until we were eating, but we were all girls, I hope that’s not why. Anyway, nine of us got steak, but had it been shown to us, maybe we would have. Whatever, Paco, was not very attentive or into our table, and the lackluster of service by Paco, turned my first visit to Gibson’s into my last. No complaints in the food, nor the hostess, just Paco. I saw other waiters interacting with their tables, and even on our way out, we were thanked by other servers who seemed much more enthusiastic and engaged in my party than Paco. Heard many good things about Gibson’s prior to this visit, but can’t agree with all the hype. Wasn’t impressed.
Food was great.
Staff was excellent.
A little crowded for a Monday evening, had to wait for our reserved table to open up.
Still a really good experience.
Great food, lovely time!
Very good quality of meat, well cooked ...
A lot of different choices of meat ...
Absolutely fantastic steak! The 14 oz filet was more than enough for me so my husband and son each had some bites along with their cheeseburgers which were also very good. Most sides are served family style, which we like. I had a giant baked potato and house salad. Dessert was going to be a slice of carrot cake to share with my husband. It turns out the “slice” is a 3 tiered GIANT 1/4 of a whole entire cake!!!! Not what we were expecting at all. We were only able to eat the very top portion and sadly the rest went to waste. It would be great if they could sell you a half “serving”for half the price. That piece of cake could easily be shared between 6-8 people. Great dining experience and we will return the next time we are in Chicago.
Experience, food and service was beyond excellent! Special thanks to Judith, our server for making it and extra special affair!
The lamb chops were amazing. Had a great time and our server Elvis was awesome.
We love Gibsons, it is the ultimate Chicago steakhouse and the food is always perfect. Service is very hit or miss, however. When we dined and were celebrating an anniversary, despite mentioning it to the host, no one made any effort to even wish us a happy day. Also, after ordering, our salads came out quickly and within one minute of them hitting the table, the steaks came, really poor timing and service. The solution to the early steaks was to just take them back to the kitchen and put them under heat lamps. When we were actually ready for them, they were no longer the right temperature and the sides had become soggy.
I've been going to Gibsons for 30 years and have always like it. However, last Saturday the steaks were ordered medium rare - the first set came out nearly well done, we sent them back and the next set came out so undercooked that they were cold in the middle. The third set were plain, unseasoned and dry. Very very disappointed this time
Everything was fantastic. Desserts are like nothing I’ve ever seen.
We have had better food.
Reservation for over 2 weeks for 7 and we were taken to a table for 6 in a doorway... WOW! That's all I could say!
Visited Gibsons from Atlanta with friends who reside in Chicago and my family from Atlanta all agreed we have truly had better!
Karl our server was GREAT!
Great Chicago steak and seafood restaurant. A must place to eat in Chicago!
One of the best restaurants in the country! You can't go wrong for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Portions are large enough to share.
A must stop for us each visit to Chicago. Even our young children enjoy the food.
Lobster Bisque soup was delicious but lacking pieces of lobster. Double baked potato was outstanding.
All of the servers take their steak very seriously. Showing you a platter of meat (and a lobster tail), you can't help but be excited. Every seat is a great seat - the veggie choices are delish, and the drinks are too. Gibson's is a classic. A don't miss - and watch for the servers singing happy birthday! Singing is a big word here...
