Favorite place for brunch! Always delicious and the service is great. All of the options for breakfast or lunch are so hard to pick from. Will be coming back.
We love the restaurant. We always come here when we go the State Theater. You are never rushed (it’s small)and every one is polite and friendly
The restaurant was extremely loud due to the college bar crowed even at 2:30 in the afternoon
We had reservations for 2:30, did not get seated until 3:00; then our server didn’t come over to us for 20 minutes, and then when our food was brought to us, some of our party had cold food
Just about what you would expect from a college town brunch spot. SUPER CROWDED with huge parties but that was fine by us! If you want a quiet, private spot, this isn’t the one. Amazing value. Only $26 for the meal (which was a huge portion) as well as bottomless mimosas per person. We had a booth downstairs right next to the bar so our server was constantly passing our table and stopping for refills. Tons of TVs in the place so great for game days! I haven’t been able to find another bottomless mimosa place in central jersey so this was a gem to discover!
Don’t judge a book by its cover. Pulled up in Uber, wasn’t so sure. Went inside, great ambience, very good food, excellent service. Will eat here again for sure. Love great local places.
Good food and service
Went to George Street Ale House before a show at the State Theatre just a few blocks away. Had a great meal and beverages, was served on time and was offered a 15% discount because we had tickets in hand for the performance. Lively crowd as there was a playoff game on the tvs. Great experience and good price. Definitely recommend! Casual dress, of course.
Our waiter was extremely attentive and personable. He made the entire experience pleasurable and we look forward to returning in the future.
Brunch. Very good
Had an OpenTable reservation created one week in advance. Reconfirmed reservation via text message OpenTable a day prior, and yes you guessed it . When I get George Street Ale House on time for my reservation, George Street Ale house had no clue as to what I was talking about. Thats right, you guessed it , the place was packed and I was told because of a party of five that I had , we would have to wait 30 to 45 minutes. Glad I made the reservation?
Toughest part was parking! Sarah treated us warmly and we loved re-connecting with Jim and his great Trivia contest! We'll be back and hope to score a booth next time as well - very comfy! My Irush cheddar burger was delicious, and the awfully-named crucifixion IPA was very good(and very strong).
Always great to go there!
Very noisey tight quarters. Friendly bartender did go out of his way to rush us out a bowl of chile otherwise be prepared to wait for brunch.
Happy hour was great. Bangin shrimp over cooked though
Went for bottomless brunch and had a great time. Loved the mimosas and service was great.
Stopped in prior to a NBPAC evening performance. Pulled pork sandwich was delicious. Large portions. Attentive server.
Great wings and burgers. Sat at the bar and was treated very well. Got us out in time for our show at the State Theater. Close enough to the theater and parking.
Food was good, (except for that one long hair in my chicken sandwich!!) Service provided by Margaret was excellent. She has a great personality. I hope they start wearing hair nets in the kitchen because it's a fun place and it would be a shame to lose customers if this happens often.
Food was delicious, and waitress was very attentive. Food arrived quickly as we were going to the theater. Even received a discount since we had our theater tickets.
We go to the Ale House often before seeing a show since food is good, and service is fast.
The service was friendly and fast, the food was delicious and portions of both food and drink were generous. Great value
Great time.. so glad we chose it! Food was delicious! Drinks well made ....Will definitely go back again!
Good service even as it got very crowded. Loved the Squash Salad with salmon on top. Easy ambiance. Have recommended it to my musician husband who often plays at the State Theater. Glad I discovered it!
Food was awesome! Waitress was friendly and attentive, great dinner.
Sara provided excellent service and menu recommendations for our group. Food was very good and ability for our team to eat and socialize was great! Thank you!
Promptly seated food was served hot and very well prepared. Would revisit.
The food was excellent. The place is truly alive and full of noise. Including a Man with a whistle. That we didn’t need.
The staff of helpful and polite. Could have used a bit more servers but luckily we were not in a big hurry.
Highly recommend the GSAH to all.
Different things on the menu. Good specials happy hour and a special. 2 entrees ordered get $10 of an appetizer. Not sure if they have it all the time or not.
We have come here many times for dinner, both with friends and family. We’ve never been disappointed, with the food, the cocktails, and the service!
Great beer menu
My mom and I enjoy the happy hour. Delicious food, great service and awesome drinks!
Great Steak Sandwich
Great place for brunch-something for everyone. And one of the best black bean burgers I have ever had. Reasonable prices. We are planning to go back to watch football.
Get as always!
Came for the trivia, stayed for the friendship :)
Went for Sunday Brunch, has pitcher of Sangria very good and very large pitcher. Thought when I first saw it there was no way my husband and I could finish it , but we did yum. I had the shrimp and grits and it was very tasty. My husband had the waffles and chicken and he enjoyed it too. Will definitely be back and recommend it to others
Our waitress’s shift was over and stayed longer to serve us. As a bartender I respect that she was not rushing us especially after our 2nd pitcher of Sangria. Will be back for brunch again!
I will never eat here again. The food was nasty. I ordered the steak and eggs with French toast and grits. The steak was cooked perfectly but it was cook in A1 steak sauce making the steak taste sour! Steak sauce should be optional. The French toast taste like plain bread I had to send them back! The grits were very nasty they taste like chicken noodle soup it was overly seasoned. The service sucked! The waitress constantly walked past the table without asking if we were ok or need anything else. The waitress was at the bar sitting in her boyfriends lap tongue kissing him instead of making sure her guest were well taken care of. The mimosa was the best part and the only thing good. I’m highly disappointed I drive 40 minutes to this place. I plan on NEVER returning.
