Good spot for pre-game meal.
Great for parents to take their Huskies out for a nice dinner
The food was very salty. That said, we enjoyed ourselves and the waitress was very good .
Overall, very tasty, great service and good presentation.
The calamari appetizer was cooked more than I prefer...I should have specified I like it soft, not crunchy.
limited menu on game day. Website not updated to state actual. disappointed with food choices as menu is very limited. items on chalk board A-sign in waiting area displayed specials, but upon sitting down we were informed of limited menu. Wait staff was very hospitable and made our dinner experience bearable.
Best place for a very good meal, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere after a UCONN Game.
Service was not great we sat for a good while before I had to ask for water. Turns out the waitress in our area didn't cover our table. Which was strange because we were the only table in that area not covered by her, which is why I asked her for water. Not sure why she didn't say she wasn't our waitress and that our waitress would be with us shortly. As it tuned out our non waitress did most of the work anyway! I left a very good tip anyway … their college kids and very likely UConn college kids on top of it. Food was OK not great. Angel hair was overcooked (AH is tough I know, but pasta has to be al dente). My son said the burger was good.
Always a fun place to go for dinner when visiting UConn. The staff are very nice and service is excellent. The calamari and penne arrabbiata are very good. We tried one the Geno Auriemma pinot grigio house wine and were pleasantly surprised how tasty it was.
Food and service were very good. The front door could have better accessibilty for the handicapped. We came in through the side which is not marked as the entrance for walkers and wheelchairs
Visiting my daughter at school brought her aunt and uncle to the game and to Geno’s great way to spend the day at Uconn
Always Outstanding! A great way to follow-up a nice win by the UConn Women's Basketball team. Our experience from checking in to leaving was wonderful.
like Geno, I am from Philly, and I am a foodie, cooking and eating. gebo's is always superb. great service, food is outstanding.
Great food, great service, great experience. Penne alla vodka was fantastic. Would recommend for date night or a nice night out.
Genos' Grille was the perfect spot to have an excellent meal before heading over to UCONN's Jorgensen Center. We made a reservation (a must for dinner!) and got right in. Food was fresh, hot, beautifully plated, and delicious. Our server was polite and professional. The ambiance was casual and friendly - not a formal place, but more "put-together" than a pub-style restaurant. We will definitely be back!
Food was very good. Service was excellent. I asked for a table not near a service station more than two weeks before the reserved date and our table was right in front of the kitchen counter where orders come out!
My wife and I were very satisfied with our experience at Geno’s restaurant. The food was great and our server was very friendly. We would definitely recommend it.
Enjoyed Geno’s as usual
Great spot with very good food I would definitely recommend if coming to visit UConn.
Good menu selections. Excellent service. Convenient and welcoming.
Great food, just the right amount. Game night menu limited but the specials were excellent
The whole operation was well organized. Table available immediately on busy night, service friendly and timely( college kids staff) food and drinks very good.
food was very good two minor issue my salama was under cook it was raw in center plus 3 hour before my reservation add party of 2 to 3 add chair but i was in servant walk way but i notice 3 tables of 4 with 2 should been switch to table of 4 guest --will see u again on senior day i have table reserve plus can i get direction or number to new restaurant in Manchester called Aura (Geno new one) down road for his home ?
We ate here before the basketball game. The service was decent and the presentation of the food was okay. The red sauce had no flavor and how does a bar not have Malibu? I wouldn’t go out of any way to go here but if I were in the area I might go back.
The Waitstaff was fine, Quality of food vs price is lacking, Sue Bird chicken is cooked in a fryer, They had a special Game Day Menu that totally left out all the italion dishs.
The food was fabulous along with an extensive wine selection. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We have already recommended Geno’s Grille to several of our friends and we cannot wait to go back.
1. "Game Day" Menu quite limited and no prior notice. 2. Wait staff seemed to be in a hurry to move us along; clearing bread plates before we were done with them, etc.
Salmon w/veggie noodles was excellent. Waitress was friendly. We were seated right away by the window and it was easy to converse without too much background noise.
Food preparation, service and quality was excellent and good value for the price
I don’t think we could have had a better experience. The staff and food were beyond our expectations. Awesome place. First class all the way.
This has become a an average venue. Food is bland. Not what it used to be
Food was B-/B.
We went to Geno's for New Years' Eve and had a great meal and a bottle of wine to cheer in 2020. The service was excellent and attentive, the food was very good and the evening was wonderful.
I was pleased with my dinner (chicken farm) and so was everyone else at the table (group of 7). Steak, Seafood and Chicken was all good. The service was friendly and the pace of the meal was perfect. There really is no down side though it isn't cheap (not outrageously expensive, but not cheap). I'll be back.
Average place. Little shy with the squid in the squid capri. I would go to others before revisiting.
We love the restaurant and the food was delicious and fresh! Loved the menu choices too.
We were at Geno's for a 'Gameday' menu (vs. Notre Dame). Don't miss the garlic toast with gorgonzola dip or the meatball appetizer. Kudo's to the general manager (who tried very hard to find out what grape varietals are in Puglia Rossa - a very delicious wine!) and our waitstaff Shannon. We would return on our next visit to Storrs!
On game days, a limited menu is offered, which is fine, considering how busy it can be. I had the chicken piccata, which was very good, but I would have preferred a bit larger portion. Wife had the chicken parm, which was very good and a bit more substantial a plate. Geno's house wines are good and reasonably priced. Service was cheery and pleasant, and I appreciate the fact they hire (what appear to be) students for wait staff, but felt a need for a little prompting. Not a real issue however; will definitely be back.
Our waitress was a doll, but frankly the food was meh, and the two of us walked out with a bill that totaled over $160 for a shared appetizer, dinner salad, entree, dessert and one of the cheapest bottles of wine available.
The next day, when I wanted to see what we paid for each part of the meal to figure out how the heck things got that expensive, I was stunned to see that the customer copy of the charge receipt was not the same as the merchant copy! There was no itemization, and we don't even know whether their "suggested tip" amounts were calculated on the price of the meal or meal plus tax, which has now gone up to 7 1/2%
It may be time for this retired couple to stop going out to restaurants altogether. Who can afford over $160 at a Grille type restaurant?
Mikayla was awesome
Great all around!
