Food wasnt great. We did the Alpha tasting plate. Dishes were so-so. The chicken off the spit was ok, the chips were just chips with feta on them. The tap beer was expensive. I would have preferred Nando’s.
It was only the 3rd visit to Gazi and the choice for our get together was based on positive experiences. However this one was disappointing. We all agree a business is about revenue but frankly I don't want to feel that being at the forefront when I dine out. This night... its how this felt. If we didn't feel with every step that we were just being rushed through the "2 hour slot booking " we may have even enjoyed it. Not sure if we rush back, which is a shame, as the general concept and ambiance of the place is good. #notjustanumber
Was really loud, too loud for conversation even though we like to party on weekends we were there to catch up with friends
Great food, good vibe. Very enjoyable lunch. Great choices including a lot of vegetarian options. Leave room for dessert.
We eat at Gazi every time we come to Melbourne & the food is consistently delicious. The Bombe Metaxa is impressive & huge! Only criticisms are that it’s pretty loud & hard to hear each other without screaming & the beers are pricey. Otherwise, we love it. Service has always been spot on too.
I enjoyed eating it Gaszi the food was lovely
I have also eaten at Hellenic Republic and preferred that slightly due to its authentic heritage I know the two restaurants offer point of difference
However I preferred Hellenic with my Greek background
Price for food was Good value for money
Price on beers and wines where a little on the pricey
Probably would’ve enjoyed another drink or two Of the beer was not so Exie
Overall I did enjoy my experience
The food, the atmosphere and all of the staff at Gazi are amazing. My partner and I went there for a meal after hearing great things about the restaurant and it did not disappoint. If we lived in Melbourne we would become regulars here! Everything we tried had mouth watering flavour and we left thoroughly fed and happy for a reasonable price which is not easy to find. We hope to return on any further trips to Melbourne.
Loved it, possibly a bit noisy but I am over 50! Food was gorgeous
Lovely, innovative food. We could have been guided as to the sizes of dishes a bit better as we ended up ordering too much. Limited vegetarian options.
Will definitely be back! Love Gazi! The food, service and ambiance was a treat! Thank you!
Great ambience, delicious food and excellent customer experience 👍
Incredible Greek food - the best of all of George's restaurants! Really good service too. It was very loud though, as it was just before an AFL final match. We will definitely be back!
Great food as always! Friendly and efficient staff. Will visit every time I come to Melbourne.
Music completely ruined the ambience, the hostess wasn’t friendly at all. Lamb was bland and soggy. Dips/pita were amazing, the chicken was mind blowing. Disapppinted calamari isn’t on the menu.
Wouldn’t go back.
Nice decor and ambience but dishes were hit and miss. Prawn afratos was great; porterhouse steak flavourless, patates were suspiciously similar to McCain frozen chips with some feta chucked on top. Ok wait staff (one exceptional one) except for the guy that got us to help clear plates (sorry mate, I don't pay this much at my local food court where id happily clear my table). Person taking our bill looked really glum..pretty much how we felt about our meal so feeling was mutual
Love this place - never leave hungry or disappointed
Delicious food and drinks and great service. Would definitely go again, the bombe metaxa and pumpkin salad were to die for
Good sharing plates ..... good idea to order the large plata and share . The Pork belly was delicious and not forgetting the doughnuts for dessert. Make sure if you order the bombers shared it with 8 person lol definitely not for 4 person!!!
Fathers Day lunch. Great service. Good food. Pricey drinks. Overall easy. Music was quite loud at times but would book again for a family gathering.
Love the food and stuff was amazing... will be coming back there 👍😊
10 course tasting option was outstanding! The prawns were to die for
The waiter and waitress were lovely but the front of house was disappointing. We had a table booked but had to wait in the cold doorway for 15 minutes. He was abrupt and showed little care for his customers. Not impressed when we were the sat at the bar by the doorway. For this reason would not rush back as the first impression was good at all, would suggest this guy is replaced from this position.
Food excellent and the waiter very good but everything came together wine, entree and main all at once felt rushed.
Service was exceptional, our drinks were never empty and our plates were full. Really appreciated being able to get out reasonably quickly to attend a concert and the staff were very accommodating with this.
Good service, food and advise on dishes. Would definitely recommend to others
What a find! Delicious food, excellent service and show stopper desserts
food was a little dry... but ambiance was great. v vibey
Another venture to GAZI and on this occasion it was a very positive experience.
We enjoyed the Souvalakis, Chips and their famous dessert.
Wait and kitchen staff were very prompt.
We will be back again!
Great food, great service, friendly staff, nice venue
We decided to have the Beta set menu to give us a good selection of dishes. Everything was delicious, the tuna, saganaki, taramosalata & loukoumades were stand outs for me! We couldn’t finish all the dishes (they are deceivingly generous) so asked for a doggy bag, which was accommodated straight away by the helpful staff at no extra cost. Staff were attentive but not in your face. Only negative (personally) is the 2 hour sitting time if you arrive for dinner before 8pm. We were there on a Monday night & it got really busy, so I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment! I definitely recommend Gazi if you love Greek food.
Had the 8 courses meal and everything was so delicious. The service was excellent and friendly. Highly recommended to anyone that loves Greek food. The food is even more tasty than what I had in Greece.
Delicious beautiful food and cocktails full of flavour and authenticity.
Highly Recommend Gazi as an outstanding place to enjoy a great selection of excellent food with friends. The service is fantastic where the staff take an interest in you and your group and go above to ensure your dining experience is the best it could be.
Thank you - my family and friends thoroughly enjoyed my 60th birthday celebration at Gazi and can't wait to go back.
My daughter is a mad fan of Master Chef so of course we had to find somewhere to eat from one of the Chefs. Gazi was easy to get to and from the moment we walked in the door the service was amazing, food to die for. Ambience on point - just a wonderful wonderful experience. Thank you !
We were very well looked after by the staff. Always come to our table for clearing plates, filling up our glass and asking if we need anything.
Although we enjoyed the food would have liked more traditional Greek lamb and pitas to be on offer as well.
Gazi is always guaranteed to impress. It has amazing food and ambiance.
Great food. Best souvlaki in Melbourne. Chicken from the pit was amazing with the sauces and spices.
I have been wanting to eat at Gazi for a long time. It was definitely worth the wait. I celebrated my 23rd birthday at Gazi and it was a fun night with amazing food.
Food was amazing but unfortunately our original waitress finished for the day and the rest of the staff didn't seem to know anything about our second course(dessert) so after waiting quite some time we had to wave a waiter down across the room and ask if he could find out what was happening with our dessert order. He then set down our plates for the next course which had old dried food still on them. After fresh plates our dessert was served and it was worth the wait! 😊
Beware of the soft shell crab souvlaki. It completely burned my mouth roof as soon as I had a bite. I'm still recovering. So painful.
Service and atmosphere were great though.
